OVERHEARD

last update Data de publicação: 2026-05-09 22:30:59

I had been hiding in the study since early morning.

Not literally hiding. Working. Or at least that was what I kept telling myself as I sat at the large oak desk surrounded by papers, sketches, and my laptop. Going through supplier lists, lease proposals and menu concepts. I had been on the phone for hours, speaking to the third supplier that cancelled on me two days ago. I had managed to convince Mr Feen, Ms Hathley and Mr Dominique to reconsider and think of my offer.

Convincing those three

  • From Discarded Wife, Now the Untouchable Heiress    SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR MOTHER'S DEATH

“I know what really happened to Elena Rossi. We need to talk. Alone.”I stared at the screen for a long moment, the words blurring slightly as shock rippled through me. This was the same number that had texted me two days ago about my mother. I had believed my mother died in a car accident so why did this number keep texting that they knew what really happened to Elena. Kai noticed immediately. His voice was low, sharp with concern.“What is it?”I turned the phone toward him so he could read it. My hand was still trembling. He read the message once. Then again. His expression changed–the heat from moments ago vanished, replaced by something cold and dangerous.“Elena Rossi,” he said quietly like he was tasting the name. “Your mother?”I nodded, swallowing hard. “Someone knows something. They want to meet me alone.”Kai’s jaw tightened. He took the phone from my hand gently but firmly, reading the message one more time as if he could pull more information from the words.“You’re not

  • From Discarded Wife, Now the Untouchable Heiress    WHAT SHE HEARD

I stood in the doorway of Kai’s study, my heart still racing from everything I had just overheard. My legs felt a little shaky as I took one small step inside the room. The air felt heavier in here, like the conversation between Kai and his father had left something behind that still hung in the space between us.Victor’s cold words about me being “damaged goods.” Kai defending me without hesitation. The raw pain in Victor’s voice when he spoke about Kai’s mother.I couldn’t pretend I hadn’t heard any of it.Kai turned from the window. His shoulders were tense, his dark eyes meeting mine. For the first time since I had come to this house, he looked caught off guard. Almost… vulnerable.“Kai…” I said softly, taking one more step into the room.He didn’t speak at first. He just watched me, waiting, like he was bracing himself for whatever I was going to say next.“I heard everything,” I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. “Your father… what he said about me. And then… what he sai

I had been on the phone for hours, speaking to the third supplier that cancelled on me two days ago. I had managed to convince Mr Feen, Ms Hathley and Mr Dominique to reconsider and think of my offer. Convincing those three to get on my side wasn’t quite simple but wasn’t extremely difficult like getting Mr Laurent to reconsider. That man was a very hard nut to crack.“Mr. Laurent, please listen,” I said, keeping my voice calm and professional even though my nerves were frayed. “I understand there have been concerns, but I’m not asking for favors. I’m offering a long-term partnership. My lounge will cater to the exact clientele you want– discreet, high-spending, influential. You won’t find a better venue in the cit

  • From Discarded Wife, Now the Untouchable Heiress    A DIVORCED ROSSI GIRL

The next morning came too quickly.I was in my study reviewing overnight reports when Reed knocked once and entered without waiting for an answer. His face was carefully neutral, which usually meant bad news.“Your father is here,” he said. “He’s waiting in the main reception room. He didn’t ask or book an appointment, he just showed up.”I leaned back in my chair, jaw tightening. Victor Valentino rarely visited unannounced. When he did, it was never for pleasant conversation.“Tell him I’ll be down in five minutes,” I said.Reed hesitated. “He already knows about Hazel, word travels fast in our circle and He’s not happy, Sir.”Of course he wasn’t. “I know that, Reed.”I finished my coffee and went downstairs.Victor stood near the tall windows in the main reception room, hands clasped behind his back, looking out over the grounds like he still owned every inch of them. He was in his late sixties but carried himself like a man twenty years younger. Sharp suit. Sharper eyes. The same c

  • From Discarded Wife, Now the Untouchable Heiress    THE TRAITOR IS VOSS

The traitor was Lieutenant Voss.It took less than four hours to confirm it.Reed had narrowed it down to three possibilities by morning. By lunch, I knew it was Voss. Six years of loyal service, and the man had sold us out to the Moretti family for a bigger cut and a promise of power. The evidence was clean. Unmistakable.I handled it personally because betrayal this close to the inner circle was dealt with quietly, in the soundproofed room beneath the east wing of the mansion.Voss sat tied to a chair in the middle of the room when I walked in, the basement room smelled of concrete and blood. Sweat dripped down his face and eyes wide with terror. Six years this man had worked for me. Six years of loyalty, or so I had thought.I stood in front of him, sleeves rolled up, hands still clean for now.“You fed the Moretti’s information about the Cheng shipment, and tried to get rid of us.” I said quietly with no anger in my voice for now. “You thought they would protect you right? You wer

  • From Discarded Wife, Now the Untouchable Heiress    GET ON YOUR KNEES

She obeyed instantly.Chloe sank to her knees in front of me with a pleased, almost reverent smile. Her dark hair fell over one shoulder as she looked up at me with wide, eager eyes, lips already parted in anticipation. The dim lighting cast soft shadows across her face, highlighting the flush on her cheeks and the way her chest rose and fell with excitement.“Tell me what you want,” she whispered again, her hands sliding up my thighs.I looked down at her. She looked skilled, the kind of woman who knew exactly how to make a man feel like a king for a few hours. But all I felt was a hollow ache.“Open your mouth,” I said, my voice low and commanding. Her breath hitched. She licked her lips once, then opened for me obediently, tongue sliding out just enough to tease. Her hands moved to work my belt, unbuckling it slowly, deliberately, like she wanted to savor every second. The zipper came down with a quiet rasp. She freed me and her eyes widened at the size of my length which was alrea
