LOGINDiana’s POV
Okay, okay, calm down I am sure you are surprised about the sudden outcome of things right? Well here's what happened before Raphael came to the rescue ****** I Wasn't quite sure what I would call this. I stood amid every member of the Lorenzo's family. Marcel had a wicked smile on his face. "Come, Serena," Mrs Riley said Serena made her way to where Mrs Riley stood. Holding her hands, she declared, "Henceforth, this is Marcel's fiancée. She is the real daughter of the Kensingtons." She paused, then turned to look at me. "This one is a fake—an impostor." An impostor? A fake? How is a legally adopted child a fake? I didn't choose to be adopted, nor did I choose the family I wanted to be adopted into. I was chosen by Mr. and Mrs. Kensington, so why the hell would anyone think I'm a fake? "She thinks she can deceive us?" Anna laughed At that moment all I wanted was for the floor to open up and swallow me. I shouldn't have listened to Ciara; I should have followed my gut feelings; this was a trap. "I see that she even went as far as wearing a dress similar to Serena's," Marco said. Everyone laughed. Marco was Marcel's immediate junior brother. I and Marco never got along, even when we were still together. My gaze shifted to where Lorenzo senior sat quietly; his eyes were on me. I could see the pity in his eyes, but there was nothing he could do. Was there nothing he could do? Was he just trying to keep shut, so as not to hurt his family? Just as I was about to look away, I saw him give a thumbs-up. Suddenly, I felt bold and courageous. I guess it was because I got the feeling that he wasn't in on it with them. I took in a deep breath. At least someone was on my side. I began to laugh; it started with a low chuckle; my head was slightly bowed, and then the low chuckle graduated into an ominous laughter. The Lorenzo's were taken aback. "Oh my, to think that I actually believed the act." The expression on their faces ere filled with confusion, I guess they weren't expecting me say anything. "Hmm, where do I start from?" I said, placing my hands on my chin. "Okay, yeah... Marco," I said turning to his direction. He had the 'what the hell' kinda look. "So, my dress," I started, stretching it out a little "It's nothing compared to the dress Serena is wearing; if you open your eyes to see them clearly, you can tell. Besides that dress she's wearing is a dress I told Marcel about." "What are you trying to say? That I took your dress?" Serena shot at me "Oh no dear sister, but if that's how you see it, who am I to change your perspective." She grunted and folded her arms. "Mrs Riley, I must confess, you got me believing that I was still highly welcomed, and you made me believe that you didn't know about the status of our relationship. Kudos for that", I said, clapping my hands. "Okay, that's enough, Diana; I won't have you talk to my family members anyhow." My laughter faded as I straightened my posture, my sharp gaze scanning the room. Tension was evident in the room, and the surprised expressions on the faces of the Lorenzo's had begun to falter. I could feel their unease, the way their confidence wavered slightly. It was clear that they hadn't expected me to behave that way. I took a few steps forward, tilting my head and letting out a scoff. "Tell me something," I said, my voice calm but laced with an edge. "Why didn't you see a problem with my adoption earlier?" Everyone was quiet, Mrs Riley looked down at Serena, whose hands were still folded. Marco adjusted himself uncomfortably on his seat, while Marcel's gaze was fixed on me, his jaw clenched. "You call me a fake, an impostor, as if I chose this life for myself," I continued, making sure my tone was steady. "The Kensington's chose me, raised me as their daughter legally. I never claimed to be something I wasn't. So why all this sudden performance, sudden switch of personalities? Why act as if I have been deceiving you all? Or was this how you all were? You've all just been pretending because you think I was their only child?" Silence enveloped the room. The weight of my words hung in the air. I saw hesitation in their eyes for the first time, a crack in their carefully orchestrated humiliation Mrs Riley finally broke the silence, her expression hardening as she tightened her grip on Serena's hands. "Oh child, I have always known that you couldn't be their real daughter; you look nothing like them", she said, her voice sharp. "You can never hide the truth, Diana, but it always comes out; you were nothing but a temporary replacement, and now the real heir has returned." Serena smirked, charging forward with an aura of arrogance "You should have known that this day would come" she taunted "You were never truly one of the Kensington's" My jaw tightened, but I refused to show weakness. I couldn't afford to be weak amid ravening wolves. "I was the one who carried their name all these years " I leaned forward. "Where were you, Serena? If you are their so-called real daughter, why did it take this long for you to appear." Serena’s smirk faltered for a split second, but Mrs Riley quickly butt in. "It doesn't matter", she snapped "What matters now is that she's here now; you were nothing more than a mistake her parents made, and I am sure they are going to correct this mistake", she added, looking at me from head to toe. I could hear sounds of laughter from behind me as Anna and Marco exchanged surprised glances "Let me get this straight, Diana, you thought you belonged here?" Anna sneered, "How pathetic." I clenched my fist and gritted my teeth. Their words were cruel. But I couldn't afford to let them see me break. That will be one pleasurable sight for them. If they think that I would crumble, then they were mistaken ****** Deep down I was happy someone was standing up for me. But I knew better than to make it obvious.Diana's POVThree weeks later, I sat in our beautiful living room, watching the sunset paint the sky in shades of orange and pink. The house felt peaceful now—like all the darkness had finally been swept away. Raphael walked in with two cups of hot chocolate, setting one down beside me beforesettling into his favourite spot next to me on the couch."I still can't believe it's all over," he said softly, pulling me closer to him. "But there's something I need to know, Diana. How did you do it? How did you save yourself? How did you knoweverything that was happening?"I smiled, taking a sip of the warm chocolate. "You want to know the whole story?""Every detail," he said, his eyes serious. "I need to understand how my wife became so brilliant at detective work."I laughed, but I could see he really wanted to know. So I took a deep breath and started from the beginning."I began to doubt Serena's authenticity after one argument with her I knew the Kensington's so well and there was
Diana's POV"Hello, everyone. I'm glad we're all gathered here," I said, cutting through the tense silence, interrupting Victoria's moment. All eyes snapped toward me. Shock rippled through the room like an earthquake. Raphael was the first to move—rushing across the space between us, wrapping his arms tightly around me."Diana!" he breathed, his voice cracking. "I thought—I thought they were going to kill you.""The truth is... they would have if I hadn't been smart enough," I replied with a small, tired smile. "And I'm sorry, Victoria, but my legs were already aching. Standing too long after everythingwas—well... not ideal."Raphael gently wiped the blood from my forehead, his hands trembling. "Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere else?""I'm fine, baby. Just a scratch," I reassured him softly. But Gramps had had enough."Can someone tell me what the hell is going on here?" he shouted, his voice rising with frustration. "What is this madness?""One moment, please," I said calmly.I
Raphael's POVI still couldn't believe my ears. Everything Victoria had said—all of it felt so strange. Diana was doing all these things and I didn't know. She had also helped to free me from the suspicion of about twenty years ago.She also helped me make sure I secured the CEO position. She was and is my angel, and now someone had abducted her."Are you here with us, Raphael?" "Yes, I am here with you.""So what do we do now?" Ciara asked. "We need evidence," Sebastian said."As I am speaking to you right now, I am on my way to the Lorenzo Empire. I am tired of all this—it's time we bring the Lorenzos to an end.""Oh, oh, what end?" Ciara asked."I mean the bad Lorenzos in the family.""But why did you take the proof from the detective Diana had hired? Why not leave it to him to deliver it to her?" I asked."That's because he was about to be killed when I got to him. I saved his life and told him to run for his life because the people that Serena works for are very dangerous. Th
Raphael's POVIt's been more than five hours since Diana left our home. She had promised to call when she eventually got to Victoria's, but she hasn't called.I tried calling her, but it wouldn't even connect. Her mechanic had brought her car back home, saying she had called him because it broke down on her way, so she had to take a taxi. But if she did take the taxi, that meant she should have been at Victoria's by now and maybe on her way back."Fuuuck!" I muttered as it dawned on me that I didn't even have Victoria's number. I had thought about calling her, but I didn't have her number.I was confused. I didn't know what else to do, so I called Ciara. She picked up immediately after the first ring."Hello, Raphael."The voice sounded awfully familiar, but it wasn't Ciara's—it was someone else. "Sebastian!""Oh yes, amigo, what's up?""What the hell are you doing with... well, you know what, it's none of my business. Is Ciara there?""Uhm, she isn't here at the moment. She's in the
Diana's POV"Where are you going?" Raphael asked, his voice ragged from sleep."Uh, have you forgotten that Victoria asked to see me today?" I replied while fixing my earrings. "But why are you up so early? It's just—""10 a.m., and it's too early?" I chuckled. "Oh my gosh! It's that late?""Yeah, it is. Oh no, I have to be at the office. This isn't good for the new CEO," he exclaimed."Well, lucky you. Gramps sent a text saying you could stay in today because he understands you might not be ready to resume after what happened."He sat up, disbelief in his eyes. "Gramps said that?""Yes, he said it. You could check the text yourself—it's by your side. That's why I didn't wake you" up."Oh, man! Did I drink a lot last night?"I pointed towards the alcoholic wine bottles that I had already wrapped to dispose of. "You had two of those, Raphael.""Oh my! I did?" he said, placing his hands on his stomach. "Yes, you did, babe."I walked over to the dressing mirror, picked up my gold chain
Riley's POV"I am talking to you, don't you dare work out on me!" Junior yelled."When have I ever not walked out on you before, Junior - please don't even start this right now. I don't have that energy.""Who did you talk to?""I am not obligated to tell you anything""Oh yes, you are obligated to tell me a whole lot, Riley; I am your husband."Laughter erupted from my lungs. "You are what now junior? My husband? And so funking what junior!""You have to show me some respect in this house, I am done being the vegetable."I walked up to him, a wry smile appearing at the corner of my lips "Don't start acting up now, Junior; just continue to be the vegetable you have always been.""What!""You called yourself that, not me", I chuckled."Riley, what did you do inside there?" He said, pointing to the study door. "It's none of your business, juniors. Just pass and pretend not to see.""I can't do that, knowing you, you are probably plotting something deadly and dangerous." He took in a dee
