He hesitated but answered and placed the call on speakerphone. He put a finger on his lip to signal me to be quiet, and I nodded obediently.

“Hello,”

“Hello Alpha Ralph.”

“Yes?” Ralph replied a bit upset.

“Concerning the meeting we had earlier. I know you very well. You have a beautiful way of getting out of trouble. You are the master of that craft but not this time. If we don’t see that girl at the meeting we will assume that what we have heard is true and we will take action. I hope you know what I mean by that.”

Ralph hung up as a snarl erupted from his chest. I’m still not used to this, the fact that a man can be a wolf still baffles me.

“We can’t run away right?” I asked.

He stared at me as if the answers to his problems were written on my face.

“Is your plan as solid as you think it is?” He asked. I smiled with relief because finally, he was going to give me a chance to show him that I’m not helpless.

“Everything about me is solid,” I assured him. He nodded, and smiled faintly,
