Chapter 1: The Woman in My Boyfriend's Room

Author: Sonia
Chloe Yates’ POV

“Really? He’s actually going to propose to me? How do you know that?” I couldn’t contain the excitement bubbling inside me.

“Girl, I risked my life being your undercover agent! Your boyfriend’s lips are so tight it’s impossible to pry anything out of him. He just said he wanted to surprise you. Don’t give me away!”

“Don’t worry, I’ll protect my little undercover agent.”

After the call with my best friend ended, my heart felt like it was soaked in honey—so sweet it almost overflowed.

Trevor Skyler and I had been together since college, now for a solid five years. We’d always been incredibly happy. After graduation, we moved in together. Each of us pursued our own careers—I became a lawyer, while Trevor, with his family’s investment, started a small company.

We constantly supported each other, stood by one another, and felt deeply connected. We were each other’s one and only.

I always knew we would get married someday.

But now, hearing that he was going to propose, I was so overjoyed that I nearly burst into tears.

What made it even more incredible was discovering I was pregnant right after winning my very first case. The positive test felt like a bolt of lightning, sending a surge of joy through my otherwise steady life.

I could already picture the three of us as a happy little family.

“I’m officially the happiest woman in the world!”

Unable to wait to see him, I crammed a week’s worth of work into three days and asked my supervisor for leave.

I booked the earliest flight and headed straight home.

During his proposal, I would give him the pregnancy report.

We both loved children, but since we weren’t ready yet, we hadn’t started a family.

Now, with him about to propose and us on the brink of creating a new chapter together, this baby felt like a gift from heaven.

In front of the door of our home, my heart pounded so hard it felt like it might leap out of my chest. Taking a deep breath, I tried to suppress my excitement and forced what I thought was a natural-looking smile before opening the door.

“Honey, I’m home!”

Pushing the door open, I was greeted by the sight of Trevor wearing nothing but a towel.

He’d clearly just showered, his damp curls clinging to his forehead, giving him a boyish, almost playful charm. Droplets of water glistened on his well-toned muscles, tracing the contours of his body before vanishing below the towel’s edge.

I smiled at him. “I missed you so much. I couldn’t wait to hug you, to kiss you.”

I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him lightly. My fingers brushed over his firm chest, tracing faint lines across his muscles. My touch lingered on the hardened points of his chest, giving a slight pinch, feeling the shiver that ran through him.

Normally, when I teased him like this, he would lose control and pin me down on the bed. But today, he just held me gently.

He playfully flicked my nose and looked at me tenderly. “Why didn’t you let me know in advance? I could’ve come to pick you up.”

“I missed you, baby…” Trevor leaned closer, his lips moving toward mine.

But a sudden voice shattered the moment.

“Missed you~” A woman’s voice rang out, mimicking Trevor’s words in a mocking, singsong tone.

My heart sank instantly.

Turning toward the bedroom, I saw a woman strolling out at a leisurely pace.

She was wearing my robe, and beneath it, my lace camisole nightdress. Her chest was half-exposed, long hair casually draped over her shoulders, her face adorned with meticulously applied makeup. She looked smug and defiant as she locked eyes with me.

To top it off, she was holding a pair of underwear—Trevor’s underwear. The pair I had bought for him just last week.

She threw it at Trevor with a smirk. “Baby, put on your underwear! Hahaha!”

Her laughter rang out as her body shook with delight.

I clenched my fists, forcing myself to suppress the surge of fury within. There had to be an explanation. Trevor had always kept his distance from other women after we started dating.

He never gave me any reason to feel jealous or worried. There must be some misunderstanding.

With a cold expression, I stared at the woman. “Who are you?”

Before Trevor could say a word, she stepped forward.

Extending her hand, she smiled and said sweetly, “Hi, I’m Rachel Rain. I’ve always been Trevor’s one and only real girlfriend.”

Right in front of me, she looped her arm around Trevor’s neck and hitched a leg around his waist, leaning forward until her ample chest was pressed against him. With a sultry smile, she whispered into his ear, “Trevor, care to explain who this is?”

What the hell was going on?

How could Trevor suddenly have another girlfriend out of nowhere?!

Chloe’s POV“What exactly are you all talking about?” I smiled as I approached my colleagues, addressing them directly. “Oh, nothing, Chloe,” one of them replied hastily. As soon as they saw me, the group quickly dispersed, avoiding any further conversation. It was odd, but I didn’t press them for answers. I had no idea what was going on, but gossip was never my thing anyway. Back in my office, I dove into a pile of work. The case files Amy had organized were a complete mess, but knowing the pressure she faced at home, I didn’t want to give her a hard time. Instead, I took it upon myself to sort everything out, including preparing the files for Roman’s case. After hours of work, I finally had a moment to step away and use the restroom. “We’ll hide over here,” a hushed voice said. I caught the sound of several footsteps as I entered the restroom but didn’t pay much attention. Once I finished, I pushed open the door to leave. Without warning, a bucket of freezing cold

Chloe’s POV“You have to understand me. Everything I’m doing right now is for our future.” I turned around and saw Trevor, swaying unsteadily, clearly drunk. His bloodshot eyes locked onto mine, glistening with unshed tears. “Trevor, it’s not that I don’t want to understand you, but you always make me feel… like I’m not that important to you.” “I know, it’s my fault. I didn’t consider your feelings. I wasn’t there when you needed me. You had to go to the hospital alone. And despite knowing you're allergic, I still let roses into our house just because Rachel wanted them."He gently cupped my face, his touch tender. “But, baby, I care about you. More than I care about myself.” His sincerity made my resolve waver, but before I could respond, Luna stormed out of the car and yanked me away from him. "You have no right to touch her!" Luna snapped, her glare sharp and unwavering. "Where were you when Chloe was in pain? She had to go to the hospital all by herself! And who’s the one

Chloe’s POV“Kiss! Kiss!” My gaze swept across the crowd to see Trevor and Rachel standing close, surrounded by people cheering them on. A pang of discomfort hit me, but I tried not to dwell on it. They were just playing along with the clients—it wasn’t like they had a choice. “Chloe, what are you looking at?” Luna’s voice interrupted my thoughts. “Oh, nothing.” She followed my line of sight and immediately understood everything. “Tonight’s about us, remember? Let’s not think about anything stressful!” “Cheers!” To my surprise, Amy raised her glass and began drinking. It wasn’t long before Amy started getting a little drunk. Sitting quietly with Luna, her son, and me, Amy began to open up about her story. The woman who was usually aggressive and overly critical at work, my sworn nemesis, now looked weary and defeated, a vulnerability I’d never seen in her before. “You probably think I’m harsh, mean-spirited, even petty,” she said, her voice tinged with suppressed bit

Chloe’s POVTo everyone’s shock, Mark slammed the wine glass against his own head. Blood streamed down his forehead as the veins on his face and neck bulged, making him look terrifying. "You don’t even understand what it means to save money! I work my ass off, and you just throw it all away!" Their argument echoed across the restaurant. Luna and I sat nearby, catching snippets of their sharp and cutting words. "Throw it away?" Amy shot back furiously. "Do you have any idea how much it costs to run this household? I haven’t wasted a dime! Everything goes toward our child. Meanwhile, we’re still footing the bill for your sister’s monthly weed habit!" "Don’t you dare bring up my family!" Mark roared, his voice booming. "You’re the one who can’t control yourself. What kind of woman spends like you do?" With that, he grabbed her purse off the table and held it up. "This stupid bag cost three thousand dollars! What good does it do? Can you eat it?" Amy’s face flushed red. "Tha

Chloe’s POV"Sweetheart, we're heading out now."Trevor kissed my forehead before leaving. As I opened my drowsy eyes, I saw him and Rachel walking out the door, both dressed in perfectly coordinated business suits. They looked like a flawless pair.Today, I had taken the day off. This cursed allergy had left my face in a terrible state. I took a cab to the hospital, where the doctor prescribed some medication and sternly warned me to stay away from roses, or the red spots on my face would never go away. I listened quietly, but my thoughts drifted. If Trevor were here, he’d probably remind me with even more care. He’d help me apply the cream and gently blow on my face with concern in his eyes.Leaving the hospital, I wandered aimlessly through the bustling streets, feeling an empty ache in my chest. I didn’t want to sit at home alone, waiting for Trevor and Rachel to come back arm in arm. I needed to reclaim my own life."Hey, girl! What are you up to? Let’s grab dinner!" I cal

  • From Heartbreak to the CEO’s Bed   Chapter 25: Speechless

Chloe’s POV"Wasn’t it you who asked Mr. Roman to take me to the hospital?" "What? No, we haven’t been in touch lately." Roman lied to me! He made it sound like Trevor had sent him to find me and take me to the hospital, but Trevor had no idea about any of it! Roman must have just happened to run into me, taken me to the hospital, and tried to talk me out of breaking up with Trevor. What did he take me for? A gullible child he could easily fool? Then again, he probably meant well, trying to ease things between me and Trevor. Fine. I wouldn’t hold it against him. "You just happened to bump into Uncle?" "Yeah, we ran into each other on the way.”"And he’s the one who took you to the hospital? That’s so unlike him. My uncle usually avoids people like the plague." "Yes, he even talked to me quite a bit." "That’s surprising. He’s always so swamped with work he barely has time to grab a proper meal. Can you believe he’s never even dated anyone? And yet, he made time to take
