Liam’s POV

It is my eighteenth birthday tomorrow, and I’m feeling excited and full of energy. Kai is stretching and purring in my head like a restless storm.

“You feel the excitement too right, Kai?” I ask my wolf, sitting up in bed and surveying the mess around my room.

I’d thrown an all-night party far from the pack territory with my old school buddies…just us, no pack formality, no expectations. A pre-celebration before the one my father is throwing tomorrow at the ceremony hall. I wanted to have fun my own way… freedom, women, liquor.

“Of course, Liam. It's your eighteenth birthday. And who knows? We might meet our mate,” Kai says, his voice practically vibrating with anticipation.

“Whatever, Kai.”

The clock on the wall shows it’s already afternoon. My head’s pounding with a hangover. I groan and stretch. Empty bottles litter the floor…evidence of last night’s rebellion. I need someone to clean this disaster, especially since the girl I smuggled in last night had vanished before I even woke up. I’ll deal with her later.

Kai is still mumbling his weird ideas in my head. “Kai, give me a break. This isn't the time for this.” I shove his voice aside and focus on the mess.

A knock breaks through the haze.

“Alpha Liam,” a guard calls. “Your father says to let you know he has summoned you several times this morning. He wants you at the ceremony hall.”

“Shit, I mutter under my breath. “I’ll be there soon,” I call out. I must have been in deep sleep.

I gather the bottles into a corner and dash into the shower. Five minutes later, I’m dressed in a fresh shirt and shorts, brushing my teeth to mask the alcohol on my breath. Technically, I’m not supposed to drink, but my father has no idea I’m practically a master at it.

Snagging a snack on my way out, I head toward the hall. My body’s still sluggish. I definitely need help organizing things for tomorrow.

As I near the hall, I spot the head maid rushing past. She nearly bumps into me.

“I’m so sorry, Alpha,” she stammers, clearly flustered.

“Is there someone you can send to my room to clean up?” I ask sharply, not in the mood for pleasantries.

She hesitates, doing the mental math. “Everyone’s busy with preparations for tomorrow, Alpha. I’m not sure…”

“Well, make it happen. This is important too.” My tone sharpens. I see the flicker of fear in her eyes. Good. I’ve learned from my father that fear is a tool. And if I’m taking over this pack soon, people need to start getting used to it.

“I’ll find someone,” she replies quickly.

“Make sure you report back once you do,” I snap before walking off.

Inside, my father is finishing a brief with some warriors and workers from our company—Precision Metal Solutions. I see Nathaniel, Jordan, and a few other pack members gathered around him.

“Liam,” my father calls the moment he spots me. Everyone turns and immediately begins their chorus.

“Happy birthday in advance, Alpha,” they say in unison, bowing respectfully.

Except for my father, of course. He grins, clearly pleased to see the others acknowledge my position.

“We were wrapping up operations discussions…pack protocol and company logistics,” he says. “I needed your input on role assignments. You’re taking over soon, and I needed you accustomed to leading. But you were nowhere to be found.”

His voice is stern now.

That’s my father. He is a very precise, no-nonsense person. He is very allergic to excuses. Not just my parent, but my role model.

“Dad, I’ve been feeling unwell,” I say, choosing my words carefully. “I didn’t mean to disappoint you.”

The door bursts open suddenly, and the head maid stumbles in, clutching neatly folded bedsheets. She freezes, realizing she’s interrupted something important.

“I… I’m sorry, Alpha…”

“Speak up, young lady or forever hold your peace,” my father barks, already losing patience.

“Did you find someone?” I interrupt, sparing her from further scolding. From the side of my eye, I see my father sit down hard, continuing his conversation with the workers.

“Yes, No.. Uhhhm. Mira is less busy but nobody seems to know where to find her so I came. Maybe..”

Nathaniel, one of the warriors ant the meeting, interjects smoothly. “I know where she is, Alpha. I’ll bring her.” I nod, signaling him to go.

That’s when I spot Dahlia approaching…heels clicking against the floor like nails on stone. My Beta. And the biggest thorn in my side. If I weren’t duty-bound to work with her, I’d have dismissed her a long time ago.

I glance around for an escape route.

“Wait here,” I tell the head maid, then move toward my parents. My mother has just joined the meeting, which looked like it had come to an end, seeing as my father was dismissing the workers.

When she sees me, her eyes light up. She opens her arms for a hug.

“My beloved son. Your father told me you were unwell.”

“Thank the Goddess,” I muttered to myself, gladly accepting the distraction.

“Yes, mother.” I wrap my arms around her, resting in the comfort of her warmth. It is probably the pressure of becoming Alpha,” I murmur.

“I know son.” She tiptoes to kiss my cheek. “You’ll be fine. You’ll be ready in due time. It’s the reason your official inauguration as Alpha is not taking place on your eighteenth birthday tomorrow after all.”

“You’re just a spoiled child, Liam,” my father cuts in, not missing a beat.

“Where is this maid anyway?” He asked

“Which one?” my mother chimed in.

I waved the head maid forward. Noticing Dahlia was no longer in sight, I took a deep breath of relief.

“Mira, the woman says.”

“Oh, the girl whose mother just died?,” my mother asked, her voice laced with concern.

“And you say there’s no one else available?” My father adds, clearly displeased.

“No, Alpha,” the maid answered, glancing nervously between the two of them.

“Hmmm, he grumbles. “She had better not..”

  • From Omega's Daughter To Alpha's Daughter   The Price of Blood 183

Mira’s POVGarran was beside me in an instant, ignoring the blood that was dripping from his claws. He was still half shifted, but his eyes filled with fury and grief. “Get the healers!” he roared. “Now!”Warriors scattered. Arwen knelt beside me, her own tears falling freely. “He saved me,” she whispered shakily. “He saved my life.”They carried Cael inside as if his body were made of glass. His blood trailed along the ground, marking every desperate step the warriors carrying him took. I stumbled beside them, half dazed, half sobbing, and with my hands trembling so violently that I could barely keep them steady enough to press against his wound. Garran barked orders with the voice of a man that was possessed, commanding everyone to clear the way and his tone leaving no room for hesitation.“Get him to the east wing…now!” he thundered. “Summon the healers, every last one of them!”The fortress that had been filled with jeers for Cael's execution was now filled with panic and chaos fo

  • From Omega's Daughter To Alpha's Daughter   The Beast Within 182

Mira’s POVGarran had clearly had enough of Brakk's madness, but I could still see the look of mercy in his eyes…possibly from the long years of friendship that might have been shared between them.“Get out, Brakk. Leave and never come back.”Brakk was shocked by the sudden cold judgement. “You’re throwing me out? After everything I’ve done for this pack?” he barked angrily. “You want to dismiss me like a common disobedient pup?”Garran’s face maintained its coldness. “You have done nothing but dishonour this pack,” he said calmly. “You have now become reckless and dangerous, Brakk. Leave while you still have my mercy.”“Mercy?” Brakk laughed… a broken sound that echoed in the air. “You think you can shame me in front of everyone and call that mercy?” He turned toward the others with wild eyes. “You all see what he’s doing, don’t you? He’s letting outsiders poison his mind. Enemies! Strangers! And now they’re his honoured guests!?”I could feel Cael getting anxious beside me. He wante

  • From Omega's Daughter To Alpha's Daughter   Gratitude 181

Mira’s POVBrakk’s bravado faded for a second, but then he straightened himself, trying once more to salvage whatever he could of his arrogance. “I only speak what others are too afraid to, my lord. You’re letting grief and guilt make a fool out of you.”I saw Garran’s hand shoot out before Brakk even realized it…one powerful motion, and his palm swept across Brakk's face with so much force that he staggered backward, nearly falling to the ground. The entire crowd gasped in shock at the action.“Say another stupid word,” Garran hissed in a voice that rumbled like thunder, “and I’ll have your tongue cut out.”Brakk stared at him, boiling with hatred and humiliation, but he wisely said nothing. Knowing who Garran was, any further action from him would likely mean his death, and that was not something he wanted to risk at that moment. It was better to hold his peace and continue the fight later.Garran took a deep breath, then turned back toward his daughter and me. “You saved her,” he s

  • From Omega's Daughter To Alpha's Daughter   Back from the Dead 180

Mira’s POV “Father!” That single shout was what saved Cael's life. The guard with the blade froze, and the crowd gasped in unison. Even Brakk, who had been grinning like the devil himself, suddenly went rigid. “Arwen?” Garran’s voice broke the silence, trembling and disbelieving like a man who was standing on the edge of a dream that he didn’t dare to trust. Heads turned and whispers broke out all over the crowd like wildfire. I saw her too…emerging slowly from behind the crowd. Her steps were slow and unsure, but she was walking. She was alive…Alive. I fell to my knees right where I stood, with the tears coming so fast and hard until I couldn’t even see. My body shook with sobs as I whispered over and over, “She’s alive… she’s alive… thank the gods, she’s alive…” Garran was already running toward her, with his huge frame shaking like a man that had been suddenly possessed. “Arwen!” he cried out, his voice breaking as he stumbled forward. He reached her, falling to his knee

  • From Omega's Daughter To Alpha's Daughter   The Shadow's Visit 179

Halvar’s POVSomething felt wrong the moment I entered my house after the meeting. The atmosphere felt completely different, almost as if I had stepped into a place where the night itself had breath. My instincts picked up on it long before my mind even caught up…Someone was here.I turned slowly, with my eyes quickly searching every corner. The lantern I had left burning when I departed for the council had gone out, even though there was still oil in it. Only the soft light of the moon managed to penetrate through the windows, forming lots of shadows everywhere. And that was when I realized who it was…The shadow. His dark form was sitting quietly in the chair across the far corner of the room, completely still. When it seemed he was sure that I was over my shock, his voice finally floated towards me. “You took your time.”My pulse stuttered, but I swallowed the instinct to show fear. “I came as soon as we finished. The meeting took longer than I expected, and I wasn't really expectin

  • From Omega's Daughter To Alpha's Daughter   A Divided Council 178

Alpha Rowland’s POVI stormed into the council hall as soon as a guard came to inform me that they were ready. My entrance was so sudden and aggressive that they all looked as if they wanted to jump out of their skins.“Let’s begin,” I said coldly.Caleb stood near the table, looking at me with what looked like pity and understanding in his eyes. “Alpha, I understand the grief we’re all feeling, but before we take any step, we need to know exactly who did this. Acting on assumption could make things even worse than it already is.”Halvar was not impressed by that statement in any way. “Assumption? You saw the bodies yourself, didn’t you? And the guards confirmed that the tracks led to Pine Shadows. They have been hinting at this for a very long time, and seeing how they even treated our treaty offer, I think they have crossed the line with this move. What more do we need?”Edrick thumped his hand on the table in agreement. “They slaughtered our scouts and sent their heads back like of
