**POV: Aria**

Mara never called back.

Aria tried three more times before dinner and reached voicemail every single time. She told herself it was nothing. A dead battery. Poor signal on the edge of pack territory where Mara lived. Mara was always forgetting to charge her phone and always laughing about it afterward, showing up with a borrowed charger and absolutely no apology.

It was probably nothing.

She kept telling herself that all the way down the long corridor to the dining room.

  • From Torment to Luna    The Truth About Selene

**POV: Selene**Two days before the mating ceremony, Selene found herself standing outside Aria's door with something in her hands that she had spent considerable time deciding whether to give. She knocked.Aria opened the door, surprised but not unwelcoming, and Selene held out the small wrapped object before she could lose her resolve."What is this," Aria said."Open it," Selene said.Aria unwrapped it carefully. Inside was a small framed photograph, old and slightly faded, of a young woman with brown hair and steady eyes, standing in front of what Selene recognized as the old ceremony grounds, decades ago.Aria stared at it. "Is this?""Your mother," Selene confirmed. "Lyra. I found it in my father's records this week, while I was helping him organize files for the council. He had it filed under old council photographs, unlabeled, forgotten." She paused. "My father served on the council during the period your mother was here. He recognized her immediately when I showed it to him."

  • From Torment to Luna    Healing Together

**POV: Aria**Eleven days felt like both a very long time and no time at all.Aria spent the first three of them simply existing in the quiet aftermath of everything. The pack settled into a rhythm that felt, for the first time since the ceremony two months ago, genuinely peaceful. The Warriors returned to normal rotations. The council worked steadily through the practical details of Elias's network, the eastern border treaty renegotiation, and the dozens of smaller adjustments that came with rebuilding trust.Dorian moved permanently into a cottage on the mansion grounds, smaller than the main house but larger than his old home, with a garden already prepared for the rosebush and enough space for the few belongings that mattered most to him.He cried again when he saw it."You did not have to do this," he told Aria, standing in the small garden with his hand resting on the rosebush."I wanted to," she said. "And it was not just me. Caden arranged most of it."Dorian looked toward the

  • From Torment to Luna    Wounds And Whispers

**POV: Aria**Selene's hearing was scheduled for mid-morning, but Elder Maren arrived first. She came into the council chamber with the same quiet composure Aria had come to recognize, settling into a chair near the head of the table without ceremony, though every council member present understood that what she was about to say carried significant weight.Alpha Ryker opened the session simply. "Elder Maren has requested to address the council before today's scheduled hearing. Given everything that has come to light over the past month, I believe we should hear her."Elder Maren looked around the table, and then her gaze settled on Aria."I have spent thirty years protecting a secret," she said. "Some of you now know part of it. Aria's bloodline, the falsified registration, the reasons behind both." She paused. "But there is one piece I have not shared yet, because it was not mine to share until the time was right. I believe that time has come."The room waited."The Moonshard bloodlin

  • From Torment to Luna    The First Battle

**POV: Aria**The pack gathered the following afternoon the same way they had three weeks ago, word moving through the territory in hours rather than days, the grounds in front of the mansion filling with people who came because their Luna had asked them to.Aria stood at the top of the steps beside Caden and looked out at the faces below and felt something different from the last time she had stood here. Less fear. More certainty. The particular steadiness that came from having survived something and understood exactly what survival had required. She spoke first. She told them about her father. About the cottage and the operatives and Mara's courage with a garden shovel. She did not minimize it and she did not dramatize it. She simply told them what had happened, clearly and completely, the way she had promised Caden she would. She told them about Elias Thorne. The pack received this differently than they had received the news about her bloodline three weeks ago. That news had been a

  • From Torment to Luna    Aria Holds The Pack

**POV: Aria**The mansion felt different on the drive back.Aria sat between her father and Mara in the second vehicle while Caden rode ahead with the secured operatives, and she held both their hands and said very little because there was nothing that needed saying yet. Dorian had insisted he was fine, truly fine, and his voice had been steady when he said it, but his hands had not stopped trembling slightly even an hour after the danger had passed.Mara had not let go of the garden shovel until someone gently took it from her at the cottage gate.By the time they reached the inner boundary the late afternoon had settled into early evening and the mansion grounds carried the particular hum of a community that had heard something significant had happened and was waiting to understand what.Luna Sera met them at the door. She took one look at Dorian's face and at Mara still pale with adrenaline and pulled both of them inside with the calm efficient warmth of a woman who had clearly don

  • From Torment to Luna    Caden Goes To War

**POV: Caden**The drive to the eastern border took eleven minutes. It felt longer.Caden sat in the front of the vehicle with Zane driving and four warriors in the second car behind them and ran through everything Elias had said with the cold precise focus that had carried him through every crisis of the past month. Three hours. Elias had given Dorian's location to two operatives three hours ago.Three hours was enough time for almost anything. He looked over at Aria in the seat beside him. She was completely still, her hands folded in her lap, her eyes fixed on the road ahead with an expression he recognized now as the one she wore when fear had been processed and set aside because there was no room for it in what came next."He is going to be alright," Caden said."I know," she said. Her voice was steady. "I need to believe that and I do believe it. But I also need you to drive faster."Zane drove faster. The cottage came into view at the end of the eastern road, small and humble a
