The party starts around nine, and Mia has me dancing with her in the middle of the room. She’s so excited and everybody’s yelling happy birthday to her. She hasn’t really gotten a big party like this before, she always wanted to spend her birthdays with me, and me being the outsider I was, wouldn’t go to any big parties.
