View MoreMy story starts with a boy. I’ve lived across the street from him since I was born. Liam, he’s at least six foot six, short brown hair, and the brightest green eyes you’ll ever see. He’s the future Alpha of the pack, but before we understood any of that, he was my best friend.
He’s the one that use to take me to the creek behind his house and jumped in mud puddles and caught toads with. He’d protect me when someone was picking on me and bandage my knees when I fell down.
My mind wanders back to a time when we were friends. “Liam! They’re coming!” I yell over the creek to where he’s fighting the invisible monsters. Liam runs over to me and jumps over a small opening in the creek, as I slip and fall into a muddy hill and pretend to be falling down. Liam grabs for my arms and pulls me up, throwing himself in front of me to face the oncoming monsters. “Don’t worry Amy. I’ll never let anyone hurt you.” He tells me as he looks into my eyes, then turns to face the monsters again. He loses his stick amongst the fight and looks back at me with worry in his eyes. “Run!” He yells, I look at him scared. Not for myself, but him. I run into the trees and find another stick for him to use and run back to him. “Liam!” I yell and throw him the stick when he turns around. He smiles his award winning smile at me and turns to defeat the rest of the monsters. He lays down the stick panting hard and walks over to me. “We did it, Amy. We killed them all.” I smile up at him as he pulls me into his side. “Liam! Amy!” His mom yells to us from the house. We both look at each other and laugh and start heading inside for lunch. His mom is not going to be happy to see us covered in mud.
We were happy go lucky kids, without a care in the world. That all changed when Liam turned twelve, it was time for him to start his Alpha training. Our parents both sat us down separately and my mom explained that we live inside a wolf pack, but that we were humans. Every time I tried to ask her why we even live here, being the only humans, she would always find a way around the question.
I couldn’t hide the fact I was a human anymore, while all my friends started getting their wolves, and I didn’t. They could smell the difference between me and them. Now, the only friend I have left is Mia. She’s the only one who stood by my side through all the bullying and beatings. It was hard losing everyone, but I only have to finish my junior and senior year and then I’ll be leaving.
I hope my mom comes with me, but the fact that she’s stayed here all these years, I don’t think she wants to leave. Regardless of Liam and I’s falling out, my mom and his have remained inseparable. They say we’ll figure things out as we get older, I say they’re crazy.
Luna Julia is Liams mom, she treats me as her own, regardless of everything. I don’t go over as often anymore, mostly just once a year on my birthday, she has me over for a dinner to celebrate.
Seeing Liam reminds me of everything I’ve lost, so any other attempt is usually turned down. Besides Liam never shows up for my birthday dinner, so it’s usually okay. She never lets me forget that she and Alpha John care about and love me though.
To say it’s unfortunate to be a human amidst a wolf pack, is an understatement. As soon as Clara and her minions, Olive and Kylie found out it was the end for me. I’ve suffered many injuries either directly or indirectly from the she devils. That’s what Mia and I call them. Mia has had her share, since she chooses to remain friends with me. Though, she still has an uncanny ability to talk and be friendly with everybody, except the she devils. I’ve tried to let her go, but she doesn’t allow it, saying that we’re in all of this together. She’s been my saving grace other than my mom.
My mom has been everything to me since I was born. My dad was never apart of the picture, just another thing my mom keeps to herself. Honestly, after sixteen years of never even receiving a birthday card from him, I could care less. He clearly doesn’t care about me, I see no reason to care for him.
I jump out of the shower and run through my morning routine, since I’m late this morning. Once I’m ready in my black crop top and jeans, I run out the front door and stop in my tracks.
I see Liam leaving his house to get in his car, regardless of everything, no one can deny how handsome he is, he’s show stopping. Much more so than the boy I use to know. Along with the getting taller, he’s filled out more to. His muscles strain at his shirt, daring someone to try and fight him. He’s really started growing into his future Alpha status.
I watch as he gets into his car, seemingly without a care in the world. He’s got his whole life figured out. He’s going to be Alpha of this pack once his father steps down. He has a beautiful girlfriend, it’s Clara so I can’t say the perfect girlfriend. According to her they will be mates and live happily ever after. And all of the friends in the world, everybody wants to be friends with the Alpha, but it also comes with built in friends as well.
Walker is his future Beta, Cole his future Delta, and Dallas his, or should I say ‘Clara’s’ future Gamma. They were all friends before they turned twelve, and their bond has only gotten stronger, when everybody started getting their wolves.
I watch as my mate settles everything we’ve been arguing for the last hour within minutes. Fuck. I may not deserve to be future Alpha, but she deserves to be future Luna. All the Alphas decide to help, every last one of them, even those reluctant to do so. At least until the red moon comes closer then we’ll readjust, form other plans. Our timeline hasn’t had to change; we’ve always had til the red moon to figure things out, but I feel like our safety net has been ripped out from under us. We’ve been able to try and figure things out quietly and under the table, but now that they all know, the other Alphas are going to want updates and reports and I just know if they don’t like what they hear, they’ll start to harass my dad until he gives them something that’ll make them feel better. My mom’s really making us work up here, but I get it. I get why she felt the need to do this. She wouldn’t be her if she didn’t think everyone deserves to know that they might die.I also really think some
The only thing I see is a bunch of Alphas arguing with each other, with Liam, with Griffon, once I get there. Shouting over one another. All thinking they know what’s best. But that’s the thing isn’t it… As far as we know this is new territory for everyone. For everyone except for us… We’ve been through something similar to this. And won. I won’t stand by and let them take the opportunity away from us.Griffon told me that his mom wants this, but I feel like this is just a step towards my vision, and I promised myself to put a stop to that.I look into the room, all the Alphas… It’s highly likely that they won’t give a damn about anything I say, even if I were mated to Griffon, he’s not their favorite person. But this arguing is getting them no where. And it will continue to go nowhere until someone takes charge of the situation. Fuck. I don’t want to do this.I walk in the room, and their all so busy yelling at each other that the only one that notices me is Griffon. His confused eye
Fuck my life. Of fucking course this happened. Why wouldn’t it? Nothing is going good for us anymore, of course someone got into the cells.Fuck! My eyes meet Walker’s as we rush over to the cells. We we’re at the wall explaining some things to the Alpha’s, trying to keep them as far away from the cells as possible.‘He’ll understand once we explain.’ Walker tells me, and My teeth clench, ‘And then what?’ I ask him and I can tell by the look in his eyes, he’s as worried as I am about what Renolds will want to do.We get to the cells in record time and my eyes dart to the smirk I see on Amy’s face… Not Amy… She’d never do this, and she definitely wouldn’t be laughing about it.“Liam. What is going on?” Renolds growls, and my eyes move to his. “Renolds… It’s not what it looks like.” I tell him. “Don’t listen to him! He’s a liar!” The witch shouts, and a low growl of irritation leaves my throat. I’ve never hated someone as much as I hate this witch. It might be fucking poetic in the resp
I don’t know what to think… I know I can’t have this baby, but I also know I can’t physically kill this baby. I can’t take the life of a child who hasn’t even had a chance. It’s not in my soul, and I’m not sure I know anyone who’d be able to, beyond the witch. Which I just know would want to use this child for evil. The one and only time in the last two years, Liam and I got intimate was a few months ago. I’m going to start showing soon. I can’t even touch my stomach or focus on it too much. As long as the witch can’t read my thoughts, she shouldn’t know I’m even pregnant.‘You can’t kill our pup.’ Leah whimpers into my head, and I sigh, ‘I don’t want to kill our pup, Leah. But all I can think about is what this witch might do to it.’ I tell her and she whimpers again.‘You’re hiding something from me, Amy.’ The witch sneers. I look up at the ceiling. ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about.’ I snarl back. She cackles, ‘Your depressed wolf would beg to differ.’ She chuckles.I take a
This week went by way too quickly, and standing here waiting for their cars to meet us at the pack house without my mate by my side, just feels wrong.“Stop moving so much. Goddess, you even look nervous.” Cole hisses from beside me, and I instantly freeze up. My hand that was drawing circles on my thigh and my foot that was bouncing up and down stopping as I glance over at him.“This is a bad idea.” I tell him and he shakes his head. “Everything will go fine. The spells set, we just have to act normal. Which means you need to straighten up.” Cole responds and I nod as I nervously look over towards the street they’ll come down.Calm down… Everything will be fine…The first car pulls around the corner and I see the line of cars pull up behind it. All of them parking and slowly getting out of their cars, looking around at all the changes already.Alpha Charles is the first one to start talking. “Hope you don’t mind, Liam. A few of the wives wanted to catch up with Amy and help get her b
“Our pack is still having some growing pains. I think we should hold the meeting at your pack, and I can send my son and Beta.” I tell Renolds. With Amy acting the way she is, I’m even more worried about what will happen if they come here.“No. We need to come to your pack. In order to make this alliance work and you know that. The Alphas won’t care that you guys are fixing what your son broke. We need to see that things are getting back in order. We need to see you, none of us want to deal with your son.” He growls, and I shake my head, frustrated.Renolds sighs into the phone, “Look, the Alphas are still wary about your son. And you know I take partial blame for what happened to your pack to begin with, if I never would have brought her there…” He pauses, “I’m trying to help fix things, but I need you to meet me half-way, Liam. I know your mate is still ill and we’ll respect that, but they need to see your pack for themselves.” Renolds explains and I let out a heavy breath.“Fine.”
