MAYA

The wedding was today. The entire palace was decorated with white silk and fresh mountain flowers. I stood in front of the tall mirror in the Alpha’s master suite, dressed in a heavy, cream-colored gown adorned with silver embroidery. A sparkling tiara rested on my head, and the soft velvet Luna cloak was draped over my shoulders. Next to me stood Edward, looking breath-taking in his dark royal suit, his broad shoulders squared and his amber eyes glowing with pride.

I looked around the grand dressing hall, but one person was missing.

"Maria is nowhere to be seen," I said softly, turning my head to look at Edward. "Shouldn't she be present as custom demands?"

According to pack traditions, the senior wife was supposed to hand over the Luna seal during the ceremony.

Edward didn't even blink. He reached out, gently adjusting the silver clasp on my cloak, his face cold and unbothered. "It doesn't matter," he said firmly. "The elders are here, and the past Lunas and Alphas of our neighboring territories are also here. We do not need her permission to claim what is ours."

And so, the wedding happened without Maria, and it was a massive success. The pack elders blessed our union, the crowds cheered when Edward placed the Luna ring on my finger, and the Moon Goddess's presence felt heavy and warm over the entire pack house. I was no longer Maya the maid. I was Luna Maya.

Maria came back the next day like nothing had happened. She walked through the front doors with her chin held high, wearing a dark dress, pretending she hadn't spent the entire wedding day hiding in the woods.

But since the day she returned, she now quarrels with Edward every day.

It has become a constant nightmare in the palace. Every morning, every afternoon, and every night, their screaming matches echo through the thick stone walls. Maria shrieks about her ruined pride, her lost authority, and her dead family line, while Edward roars back, warning her to accept her new place or leave the territory forever.

And after every single quarrel, my vagina helps Edward calm down.

Whenever he storms out of their shouting matches with his veins bulging and his breathing heavy, he comes straight to our master bedroom. He throws off his clothes, buries his face in my neck, and buries himself deep inside my warmth until all his anger melts away.

"You are my peace, Maya," he would whisper breathlessly against my chest after we climaxed, his large hand gently stroking my belly. "Just like Philomena was..."

I always smiled softly and held him close, ignoring the mention of my past name, letting him believe he had found a second chance at love.

Then something strange and terrifying happened today.

Early this morning, the sun rose bright and clear, casting long golden rays through our high bedroom windows. Edward woke up beside me, turning his heavy body on the mattress to pull me into his arms.

Before getting out of bed, he wanted me. Of course we had sex—we always do. He slid his hands under my nightgown, lifting my legs, and began making slow, sweet love to me in the soft morning light.

He was so gentle today, so attentive to every part of my body. He shifted down, parting my thighs wide, and leaned over to look closely at my core.

"Your vagina is so beautiful, Maya," Edward murmured softly, his thumb gently reaching out to stroke my skin. He tickled my swollen clitoris with the tip of his finger, watching my face flush with pleasure, before slowly sliding two fingers into my wet hole, admiring the way my body gripped him. He looked at it with so much adoration, kissing the insides of my thighs before rising up to take me completely.

The lovemaking was deep and passionate, leaving us both breathless and satisfied under the warm sheets. Afterward, Edward rested his head against my shoulder and fell back into a light, peaceful sleep for about twenty minutes.

I lay beside him, stroking his dark hair, listening to his steady breathing.

Suddenly, Edward shifted uncomfortably. His body tensed up, his hands shooting up to clutch his face. He let out a strange, muffled groan.

"Maya?" he muttered, his voice sounding confused.

"I'm right here, Edward," I said gently, turning to look at him.

He blinked his eyes rapidly. He opened them wide, staring straight up at the ceiling, then turned his head toward me. His amber eyes were wide, but they looked completely unfocused, the pupils dilated and hollow. He reached out his hands into the empty air, his fingers frantically grasping at nothing.

"Maya? Where are you?" he asked, his voice suddenly rising in pitch, laced with a sharp edge of panic.

"I am right beside you, holding your hand," I said, squeezing his fingers tightly. "What's wrong?"

Edward sat up abruptly in the bed, his chest heaving, his hands rubbing his eyes violently. He opened them again, turning his head wildly around the room, but his gaze didn't land on a single thing.

"I... I can't..." he stammered, his breath catching in his throat.

"Edward, what is it?!" I asked, sitting up beside him, my heart beginning to thud against my ribs.

"I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING!" Edward screamed at the top of his lungs, his voice echoing violently off the high walls of the master suite.

He scrambled backward on the bed, knocking over the bedside lamp, his hands flailing out in pure, unadulterated terror.

"MAYA! IT'S PITCH BLACK! I CAN'T SEE YOU! I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING!" he shrieked, tears of sheer panic instantly springing from his blind, blank eyes. "CALL THE DOCTOR! MAYA, I'M BLIND!"

I sat frozen on the mattress, watching the powerful, invincible Alpha of Crimson Ridge scream like a terrified child in the dark, wondering if this was another curse from the dead princess—or the deadly work of the woman sleeping in the room next door.

MAYA"You went to be with the pack boys!" Maria yelled at me the exact moment I stepped into the house. Her voice echoed violently off the high marble walls of the foyer, sharp enough to cut through the quiet air of the mansion. Her eyes were bloodshot, her face twisted in a ugly mask of rage as she stomped toward me, her heels clicking loudly against the polished floor.I stood my ground near the entrance, holding my cloak around my shoulders. I was exhausted, but deep inside my chest, the newly awakened magic hummed like a quiet, dangerous storm. I looked past Maria's angry face, letting my eyes sweep across the long hallway.Something was missing. My gaze landed on the main wall above the grand fireplace. The large, elegant oil painting of Princess Philomena—the picture that had hung in this house for decades, staring down at everyone—was completely gone. My limbs felt heavy, yet an electric, vibrating warmth was humming beneath my skin. I pushed myself up from the cold earth, shifting back into my human form and wrapping my dark cloak tightly around my trembling shoulders.I looked down at the earth beneath my feet, then over at the old caretaker who was standing above me with a wide, proud smile etched across his wrinkled face."Oh, the five days have already gone?" I asked, my voice dry and raspy, barely above a whisper. It felt like I had only closed my eyes for a few brief minutes to rest my tired soul.Orlando nodded slowly, his clouded eyes shining with a strange, ancient reverence. "Yes, child. Five full days and nights have passed while your soul walked the deep spiritual realm over your buried bones. You did not feel the passage of time, and that shows th
