MasukMAYA
"His legs just moved," I whispered, my voice trembling violently as I pointed down at Edward's feet.
The doctor froze. He quickly bent back down, pressing two firm fingers against the side of Edward’s neck while watching his chest with sharp, desperate focus. After several agonizing seconds, the physician let out a long, ragged breath and looked up at the silent room.
"He is not dead," the doctor announced, wiping a bead of sweat from his forehead. "But he is in an extremely critical condition. His mind is trapped, and his body is entirely paralyzed—he cannot move, he cannot speak, and he can only stare blankly into the air."
Within hours, the devastating news broke across the entire pack, The Alpha is gravely sick.
Chaos erupted throughout the territory. Before the sun could even set, the pack elders summoned me to the center of the grand hall. They stood in a stern semicircle on the raised marble dais, their faces cold, shadowed, and completely unyielding.
"Maya, you are a dark curse upon this royal house," the lead elder declared, his heavy voice echoing off the high stone walls. "From the very moment you stepped into this palace, misfortune has followed in your wake. First, the Alpha lost his sight. Then, your child died violently in your womb. And now, Alpha Edward lies frozen like a living corpse. You must leave this pack immediately. You are sentenced to absolute exile."
Panic seized my chest, squeezing the air right out of my lungs.
"Please!" I pleaded, dropping to my knees as tears streamed down my cheeks. "I need to stay and attend to him until he comes back to life! He needs me by his side! I am his mate!"
"We will not hear another word from your tongue!" the elder barked, slamming his wooden staff against the floor with a deafening crack. "You are evil, and your dark presence is slowly killing our leader. You have until tonight to pack your few belongings and leave these lands forever. The servants and Maria will attend to the Alpha."
Defeated, humiliated, and utterly heartbroken, I dragged my feet back to my quarters and began putting my things together in a small cloth bag. My tears fell steadily onto the few simple dresses I folded. This truly felt like the end of the road for me. Just like the Black Magic Seer had warned us in that dimly lit shrine, Maria had defeated us in our fourth life, and now she had successfully won against us in this fifth life. I had failed Edward, I had failed my unborn baby, and I had failed the ancient spirit living inside me.
Late that night, with my small bundle slung tightly over my shoulder, I crept through the dark, silent courtyard toward the outer palace gates. The guards stood aside in icy silence as the heavy iron bars creaked open. I took one last, painful look back at the towering stone fortress, stepping toward the cold, unforgiving wilderness outside.
I had already opened the gate to leave when I heard a sharp, familiar voice call out through the freezing night air.
"Maya!"
I stopped dead in my tracks and turned around. Maria was standing under the warm, flickering glow of the archway torch, wrapped in a sweeping dark velvet cloak. A slow, wicked, and triumphant smile rested on her lips.
I gripped the strap of my bag tightly against my chest, my knuckles turning white. "What do you want from me, Maria? I'm leaving, just like the elders ordered."
Maria walked slowly toward me, the steady click of her heels against the cobblestones sounding like a executioner's drum. She stopped just inches away from where I stood, her dark eyes glittering with unrestrained ambition and lust.
"I am giving you one final condition to stay back," Maria whispered softly, leaning in so close I could smell the sweet rose perfume on her skin.
I frowned, staring at her with deep suspicion. "What condition?"
"You will stay in my quarters as my personal, private servant," Maria said, her slender fingers lightly trailing down my arm, sending a cold shiver straight through my body. "Every single night, you will satisfy me sexually, exactly as I desire. And in return for being allowed to stay near Edward, you will use those strange, dark powers of yours to slowly kill Alpha Edward once and for all."
MAYA"Philomena," Edward called out, his voice a low, disbelieving whisper that hung heavy in the midnight air.Hearing that name roll off his tongue sent a cold shiver straight down my spine. That single word was how I knew, with sickening certainty, that the blinding moonlight and my ancestral magic had stripped away my cover. I had transformed back into Princess Philomena.A few feet away, lying broken in the dirt, Maria let out a strangled gasp. Her bloodshot eyes were wide with a terror deeper than any pain I had inflicted on her body. "You..." she choked out, her trembling, blood-stained finger pointing directly at my face. "It's... it's you..."They were all staring at me. Edward, Maria, and the few guards who had rushed into the courtyard after hearing the commotion, stood completely frozen, as if time itself had stopped.I panicked internally. I could feel the silver aura vibrating across my skin, burning through my veins like liquid fire. Desperate to hide my true face, I sq
MAYAI looked up into Edward’s amber eyes, watching the raw, desperate plea burning inside them. My chest felt so tight I could barely draw air into my lungs.I never knew he had this volume of love for me.All this time, I thought his heart was split between a dead princess and a manipulative Luna. I thought my silence had ruined whatever fragile bond we had left. But looking at him now—seeing an Alpha lower his pride, practically begging me to give him any excuse just so he could hold me again—the sheer depth of his devotion completely shattered my resolve. Now I had to tell him the truth. He deserved it. He was drowning in pain, and I held the only rope that could pull him out.But what is the truth? How could I possibly open my mouth and say, “Edward, I am Princess Philomena, the woman you buried years ago. I died, my soul was reborn in a maid’s body, and I spent five days bleeding over my old grave to break your spell”?If I said those words out loud, he wouldn't just think I was
MAYAMaria was winning. She had won against me when I was Princess Philomena, taking away my life, my title, and my future. And now, reincarnated as Maya—a quiet servant girl with forbidden magic—she was winning all over again.Every single morning brought a fresh layer of agony. The palace was filled with a heavy, suffocating tension. I watched from the shadows as Edward ordered the servants to completely redecorate the mansion. The pictures Maria had secretly taken down from the main lounge,Edward had caught her hiding it and went into a cold, ruthless fury. He didn't just order that single portrait restored to its rightful spot above the fireplace; he went straight into his private vaults and brought out dozens of hidden wooden crates of Philomena.Inside those crates were countless paintings, portraits, and photographs of Princess Philomena—of me in my past life.Out of sheer anger toward Maria, Edward insisted that the servants hang those pictures in every single corner of the ho
MAYAI stood there staring at my Edward, my heart pounding so hard against my ribs I thought it would burst right out of my chest. My eyes welled up with hot, emotional tears as I took in the sight of him—standing tall, strong, and healthy, his deep amber eyes completely clear and full of life. He was cured. He could see me.Without thinking, pure instinct took over. I let out a soft sob, rushed over to throw my arms around his neck, and reached out to hold him tight."Edward!" I cried out, my voice cracking with overwhelming joy.But before my arms could touch his chest, Edward stepped backward, putting a cold, deliberate distance between us.That sudden move made me pause mid-stride. My hands hovered awkwardly in the chilly air, freezing in place. My breath caught in my throat, a sharp, icy pang of hurt shooting straight through my chest. He had pulled away from me.Before I could even process the sudden rejection, two of the elders who had not yet left the hallway stepped closer, t
MAYA"You went to be with the pack boys!" Maria yelled at me the exact moment I stepped into the house. Her voice echoed violently off the high marble walls of the foyer, sharp enough to cut through the quiet air of the mansion. Her eyes were bloodshot, her face twisted in a ugly mask of rage as she stomped toward me, her heels clicking loudly against the polished floor.I stood my ground near the entrance, holding my cloak around my shoulders. I was exhausted, but deep inside my chest, the newly awakened magic hummed like a quiet, dangerous storm. I looked past Maria's angry face, letting my eyes sweep across the long hallway.Something was missing. My gaze landed on the main wall above the grand fireplace. The large, elegant oil painting of Princess Philomena—the picture that had hung in this house for decades, staring down at everyone—was completely gone. In its place was a blank, pale square on the wallpaper."Where is her picture?" I asked, cutting right through her screaming. My
MAYA"You did it, my dear," Orlando said the moment I opened my eyes.I blinked against the sharp, blinding glare of the afternoon sun, my mind feeling hazy and disoriented. My limbs felt heavy, yet an electric, vibrating warmth was humming beneath my skin. I pushed myself up from the cold earth, shifting back into my human form and wrapping my dark cloak tightly around my trembling shoulders.I looked down at the earth beneath my feet, then over at the old caretaker who was standing above me with a wide, proud smile etched across his wrinkled face."Oh, the five days have already gone?" I asked, my voice dry and raspy, barely above a whisper. It felt like I had only closed my eyes for a few brief minutes to rest my tired soul.Orlando nodded slowly, his clouded eyes shining with a strange, ancient reverence. "Yes, child. Five full days and nights have passed while your soul walked the deep spiritual realm over your buried bones. You did not feel the passage of time, and that shows th
