MAYA

On the first day after Maria saw Philomena, the pain hit me like a heavy stone to my stomach.

It started in the middle of the night with a sharp, terrifying twist in my lower belly. I screamed out loud, gripping the bedsheets tightly until my knuckles turned white. Edward woke up in a panic and called the pack doctor immediately.

When the doctor arrived and examined me, she wiped the sweat from my face and shook her head. "The labor has started, Luna Maya, but it is moving very slowly."

  • GHOST REVENGE   TWO BUT ONE

NAYAAll eyes in the room were on my daughter, every single one of them ready to tear her apart with their harsh words. The guards, the palace servants, and even Edward held their breath, waiting to label an under one year-old infant as a demonic curse that needed to be cast out.I couldn't just stand there and let them corner my child."What about the elder that had his mouth opened after he said cruel things about Naya?" I had to drop the statement so they all remember. The moment those words left my lips, a heavy, suffocating stillness fell over the bedchamber. The guards visibly flinched, taking a cautious step back toward the door frame. The memory of the late elder—his jaw locked wide open in agony until his breath completely gave out—was still fresh in their minds. Nobody wanted to risk calling Naya evil out loud again, fearing that their own tongues might be cursed next.Edward stared at me for a long moment, his face a mix of deep exhaustion and shadowy suspicion. He slowly w

  • GHOST REVENGE   OPENED A CLOSED DOOR

MAYAThe drama was real. She was calling for help at the top of her lungs, pointing frantically at a dark corner of the corridor, saying Philomena was standing right there.Edward was completely exhausted. The constant drama at home was eating him up from the inside, and I could easily tell just by looking at the deep black bags under his tired eyes. He pinched the bridge of his nose, let out a heavy sigh, and signaled the guards to help calm Maria down. But Maria would not let any of them touch her!"Stay away from me!" she warned them, her voice screeching violently as she scrambled backward on the cold stone floor, clawing at anyone who dared to step close to her. "Don't touch me! She is right behind you! Can't you see her pale gown? Can't you see her blood?!"What in the Moon Goddess' name is wrong with her? I wondered, standing near the wooden pillar, watching her unravel in front of the entire palace staff. While everyone was staring at Maria's wild breakdown, Nanny Martha quiet

  • GHOST REVENGE   SEVENTH HEAVEN

MAYAEdward mentioned that Naya comes into his room. That was too much. She should not haunt her dad, but I as the mother cannot even control this. How could I control an ancient spirit wrapped in the tiny, soft body of my two-month-old baby? Every time I looked at her sweet, innocent face, I remembered the cold, terrifying nights when she walked the palace unassisted, visiting the people who had wronged our bloodline. The heavy reality of what my daughter was capable of settled like lead in my chest, making it hard to breathe.Later that evening, Edward called me into the private study. His face was pale, his eyes heavy with a dark, suffocating dread. He looked at me for a long time before he finally spoke the words that confirmed my worst fears."About the elder that could not close his lips... he died," Edward told me, his voice barely above a whisper. My breath caught in my throat. My hands flew to my mouth. "He died? But how? The pack doctor said—""He didn't die of a natural ill

  • GHOST REVENGE   SHE TRANSFORMS

MAYAAlpha Edward said nothing.Five minutes passed. Ten minutes passed. Fifteen minutes passed, and there was still complete silence in the room. The air was so heavy you could cut it with a knife. Edward squeezed his eyes shut, groaning through his gritted teeth from the searing pain in his bleeding leg. He slowly opened his mouth to speak, but the very moment his eyes got to me, he shut his mouth right back up. He looked at me with so much confusion, helplessness, and unspoken pain. He couldn't bring himself to say the harsh words the elders were forcing him to deliver.Just then, Naya started to cry so loud from the bedroom! Her sharp, piercing wail cut straight through the tense atmosphere, echoing all the way down the stone corridor into the grand lounge. It sounded like a battle horn demanding my immediate attention.I turned my body around, eager to run back to my room. "I need to check on my daughter," I said softly, taking a step toward the hallway.I was about to go get my

  • GHOST REVENGE   THEIR CRUEL DECISION

MAYAThe bleeding was too much. Dark red blood pooled around Edward’s boots, dripping heavily onto the cold marble floor of the lounge. My heart slammed against my ribs as I rushed toward him, my hands reaching out instinctively to tear a piece of my gown to press against his wound."Edward!" I cried out, my voice laced with panic. "Hold on, let me help you—"Before I could touch his leg, Edward stepped firmly into my path, his large arm extending like an iron wall to block me."Go back to the baby," he said in a low, stern voice. He didn't look at me with hate, but his eyes were hard and unyielding. "Go back, Maya. We are handling the Alpha."I stumbled back a step, breathing heavily, and that was when I finally looked around the large room properly. I had not noticed their presence before. In my rush to get to Edward, my eyes had been glued only to his blood. I had no idea the council elders were here with Alpha Edward. They stood in a rigid semi-circle near the high stone fireplace

  • GHOST REVENGE   TSUNAMI

MAYAAs Naya lay in there sleeping, she looked so innocent. You cannot even imagine how innocent she looked! She had her tiny pink lips slightly open, her cheeks looking like soft, sweet apples, and her long dark eyelashes resting gently against her delicate skin.Well, she is innocent, but she is somehow not innocent.Looking at her, I began to smile. A strange mixture of pure warmth, deep fear, and overwhelming love filled my chest. She was my sweet baby girl, but she was also an ancient spirit with the royal blood of Crystal Pack burning inside her veins. How could someone so small hold so much mysterious power?I leaned over the edge of the wooden bed and carefully reached my hands inside. I carried her out of the crib. She stretched her little legs, let out a tiny yawn, and then cried softly, rubbing her dark eyes with her chubby fists. I held her against my shoulder, swaying back and forth in the quiet bedroom, patting her back gently. I am convinced that she knows what she is d
