CHAPTER 7: Mirabella's POV

I thought about calling Marco and reporting that creep to him. But I brushed that thought right off. I didn't want Marco interfering in my new life.

As I turned on the shower, I recalled how my body felt in close proximity to him. If he weren't such an asshole, I would have fucked him, that's for sure. You didn't come about sexy as sin looking men like that every day.

I moaned as my hands glided over my breasts and travelled down to my clit. Then, I fucked myself imagining it was Giovanni Moretti. I would never do it anyway, so why not pretend to have it just for a while? The memory of Giovanni’s touch, his scent, none of that was real anymore, but it still haunted me, a reminder of what I secretly craved. I couldn’t believe I had just admitted that.

After my very productive shower, I got dressed in a silk robe and went downstairs to practice what we were taught in class. I was baking focaccia and lasagna. The steps were easy enough consideri

CHAPTER 66: Giovanni’s POV DOMINICI didn’t announce myself.I never did with Marco. Didn’t need to. The Belluci house still remembered my footsteps, even if he liked to pretend it didn’t.Two guards stiffened when they saw me. Hands twitching. Eyes sharp but nobody spoke.Good. They knew better.Marco stood by the window, phone in hand, city lights bleeding behind him like he owned the fucking skyline. He turned slowly, lazy about it, like he’d been expecting me all along.“Well,” he drawled. “If it isn’t my favorite brother.”The door clicked shut behind me. “You kidnapped our mother.”No greeting. No bullshit. Just the cold, hard truth. Even for him, this was going too far. Marco smiled. That easy, careless smile that always meant someone else was about to bleed for his entertainment.“She’s fine,” he said. “A little shaken. But alive. You’re welcome.”I stepped closer. “You dragged her into a war she has nothing to do with.”“She dragged herself into it the day she chose sides.

CHAPTER 65: Mirabella’s POV The moment the gunshot cracked through the room, my scream ripped straight out of my chest.“GIO!”His body slammed into mine, heavy, warm, and then terrifyingly limp.“No, no, no, Gio, baby, fuck…” My hands shook as I pressed them against his chest. Blood wasn’t pouring out. Not like I expected. But the impact had knocked him completely unconscious. His head fell to the side. His eyes stayed closed.“GIOVANNI!”Panic crashed over me in a violent wave. I grabbed his face with trembling hands, tapping him lightly, then harder.“Wake up, wake the fuck up, Giovanni!”My breath came out in sharp, ragged gasps. The room was still ringing from the explosion of gunfire, the smell of gunpowder thick in the air, glass everywhere.Footsteps stormed into the villa.Guns. Shouting. My name.“Madonna, Mirabella! Get back!” one of Giovanni’s men yelled as they rushed inside, firing toward the tree line outside.I curled over Giovanni’s body, shielding

CHAPTER 64: Giovanni’s POV The villa was quiet. I watched the maids set the table for dinner, but my gaze kept drifting back to Mirabella. My wife. My fucking undoing. Candlelight flickered across her face, shadows tracing her cheekbones, sliding down the curve of her neck. I couldn’t look away. She caught me staring. “What, you planning to eat me with your eyes?” she smirked.I didn’t answer at first. I let the words sit between us, thick and heavy.“Maybe,” I murmured, voice low, rough. “Maybe I’m thinking about how much I want to drag you into our room and…”I stopped, swallowing. She raised an eyebrow.“…never mind.”My jaw tightened. Her laugh was soft, dangerous. “Never mind? That’s new.”I leaned forward, letting the air between us thicken. “I’ve been patient, Mirabella. I swear to God, I have. But you have no idea what you do to me.”Her eyes darkened, soft around the edges in a way that punched straight into my chest. “I could say the same,” she whispered.

CHAPTER 63: Mirabella’s POV The moonlight cut through the curtains, spilling over the bed in pale silver. Tuscany was quiet in that way that made your heartbeat sound too loud. Giovanni’s arm was still draped around my waist, heavy and possessive, his breathing slow and even against my neck.Sleep wouldn’t come back to me. My body was still, but my mind wouldn’t stop. Every time I closed my eyes, Marco’s voice echoed, that smug, taunting calm he always used before doing something cruel. Giovanni said he’d burn the world for me. And I believed him. That terrified me almost as much as Marco did.I slipped out from under his arm, careful not to wake him. The marble floor was cold beneath my bare feet as I padded toward the window. Outside, the vineyards stretched under the moon like a sea of silver leaves. The air was cool and sharp when I opened the door and stepped onto the terrace. The stables were a dark silhouette beyond the garden. I don’t know what possessed me to go

CHAPTER 62- Giovanni’s POV I watched her clutch the phone, knuckles white, but her spine straight. She was fit to be my queen. My woman didn’t crumble, she stared down the devil and dared him to blink first. And Christ, I was proud of her for it.That smug bastard. Calling my wife in the dead of night, thinking he could rattle her. Thinking he could rattle me.She finally turned, eyes finding mine, and for a second she tried to pretend she wasn’t shaken. Brave little liar. I saw the tremor in her hand, the way her breath hitched. But I didn’t stop her when she walked past me. I let her go without a word. Not because I believed the act she put on, but because I needed the silence to think. To plan.I sat in my office until the whiskey burned low in the glass, the amber bite doing nothing to quiet the rage in my blood. Lorenzo and Carlos stood before me, waiting for my orders. “He’s not hiding anymore,” Lorenzo said, voice flat. “The warehouse was a message. The call to Mira

CHAPTER 61- Mirabella’s POV My body went cold the second I heard his name.Marco. What the fuck did he want now? There was always something fucking happening in this world. The sound alone was enough to drag me back. Back to the night Papa died. The crack of the gun still lived in my bones, the metallic sting of blood in the air clinging to my throat. I saw Marco’s face again in that haze, shadowed, unreadable, lips pressed tight like he was already calculating the power he would seize even as our father’s body fell. For one fractured moment, I had thought he was on my side. That killing Salvatore meant freeing me. But Marco had never really protected me. Not from our father’s wrath. Not from the nights I locked myself in my room and prayed to be invisible. He had always chosen power, ambition, himself. And later, when he found out I married Giovanni, his threats echoed louder than any promise of family he ever gave me.“Mirabella.” Giovanni’s voice cut into my spi
