CHAPTER 52: Giovanni’s POV

Her gasp split the silence like glass shattering.

The picture frame was still in her hand, her fingers trembling around it as though it burned her skin. Those blue eyes locked on mine, wide, horrified, and for the first time since I’d dragged her into my world, I saw it. She wasn’t like her father. The bastard’s blood ran in her veins, but the horror on her face told me everything I needed to know.

“You’re lying,” she whispered, her voice breaking. She dropped the frame like it was on fire.

My jaw clenched and I stood up from behind my desk. “You think I’d fucking lie about that?”

She shook her head, tears glossing her eyes. “I didn’t know, Giovanni. God. I swear to you, I didn’t know.”

A bitter laugh scraped out of me. “Of course you didn’t. That’s what men like Salvatore do, they rot the world with their sins and leave their children blind to the blood they’ve spilled.”

“I’m not him.” Her voice was sharp now, desperate. “Don’t you dare put his sins on me.

CHAPTER 52- Mirabella’s POV Morning sunlight crept in through the tall windows, thin gold threads that painted lines across the rug. I woke slowly, blinking against it, but the weight of yesterday pressed heavy on my chest. I hated myself for it, but guilt gnawed at me. Guilt that I had betrayed him. Guilt that I hadn’t told him about Marco. And worst of all, guilt that part of me almost wanted Giovanni’s punishment, if only because I would get to spend some time with him.The door opened softly. Aria slipped in, her arms full of linens. Her dark curls were tucked beneath a scarf, her steps light but her smile was warm. That’s the thing about Aria. She wasn’t like the others here, who moved as if the walls themselves were listening. With her, it never felt like servant and mistress.“You’re awake,” she said, setting the linens on the dresser. “I’ve drawn your bath.”I sat up, the silk sheets sliding down. My voice was hoarse when I said, “Thank you.”Aria tilted her

CHAPTER 50- Giovanni’s POV Her knees hit the rug, the sound muffled but heavy as a confession. Not submission, never that. Her chin lifted, her eyes steady, burning blue. But beneath the fire, guilt flickered, faint and fragile, a secret she thought I couldn’t see.I leaned back, every inch the Don, letting silence strangle her. “Say it again,” I commanded. Her jaw clenched. “I swear.” “Don’t you ever do that again, Mirabella,” I said, feeling my body tighten at the view of her before me. Mirabella was a goddess, but like this, under my control, my mind ran wild with a million different things I could do to her. “Take out my cock,” I ordered, watching her eyes widen. She obeyed and a groan ripped through me as her delicate hands held my shaft. Fuck. I needed this.“Take it into your mouth and suck,” I said and I watched as she lowered her eyes, taking all of me in. My hands went to her hair and I gripped the strands tight, guiding her head. “That’s it, kitten,” I groa

CHAPTER 49: Mirabella’s POV The slap cracked across my face before I even saw the hand coming. White-hot sting bloomed along my jaw, sharp enough to blur my vision for a beat. The man shoved me forward, rough fingers biting into my arms as I stumbled toward the chair where Eliana sat tied.He pushed me to the floor and began to bind my wrists with the rope. I shuffled in his grip as I looked at Eliana. Her eyes found mine instantly, wide with fury and fear, her mouth gagged but still managing to command me. Don’t you dare break. That was the message blazing from her stare.I swallowed hard, chin lifting despite the ache. My pride was the only shield I had left. One of the men opened the envelope they had taken from my coat and tore it open. Papers slid free, Giovanni’s documents, the bait I’d carried in with shaking hands. The bastard thumbed through the pages, then smirked, tucking them into his jacket. My stomach coiled. I was stupid. That was why I had dared this i

Chapter 48: Giovanni’s POV The book in my hand might as well have been blank. I’d been staring at the same damn page for twenty minutes. The words blurred, my mind circling back to the same thing. Her absence. Mirabella’s silence. Her fucking coldness.I snapped the book shut and set it on the desk. I blamed myself for pushing her away. I should never have brought her mama into our argument. She would come around eventually, I told myself. But my chest tightened anyway.A knock at the door had me looking up. It was sharp. Urgent.“Enter,” I barked. The door swung open and Diane walked in, laptop under her arm. No hesitation, no polite pause. My irritation spiked. “You better have a damn good reason for coming to my room at this hour. Her eyes didn’t flinch. “You’re going to want to see this.”I leaned back in my chair, fingers drumming on the armrest. “If this is about business, save it. I’m not in the mood.”She set the laptop on my desk, turned it toward me. The scr

CHAPTER 47- Mirabella’s POV I got up from my bed and paced the length of my room. My hands shook, but it wasn’t fear anymore, it was the kind of rage that burned until it hollowed you out. I already knew I was going to save Eliana. There was no debate, no hesitation. The problem now was how to do it without getting caught… or killed. The consequences would come, and they’d come sharp. Giovanni’s wrath was something I could only imagine, and I’d be a fool not to be terrified of it. But Eliana was worth it. I’d face him, his empire, hell itself if I had to, so long as she was safe.My phone buzzed in my hand, vibrating against my palm. I jumped, glancing down to see the same unknown number flash across the screen.I pressed accept. “Hello?” My voice was sharper than I felt. I couldn’t afford to let him hear fear. Men like this, they were predators, and they fed on weakness.“You have twenty-four hours,” the voice said, taunting. “Don’t play games with me.”The line went
