I didn't even wait for lunch to be over before heading out of the house, which was obviously against my father's will.

I would have stayed back to question him about the person who had forced him to become nice and kind, but I had an appointment with the agency I was supposed to sign with.

I took my eyes off the road and stared at my phone as it rang for the third time.
