Jackie slowly sunk into the deep, red heart-shaped tub. Large square mirrors decorated the walls around the tub all the way up to the ceiling. She turned the jets on low. Jackie and Jodi concluded a morning meeting with their employees in the bar. The bar phone rang. It was too early for someone calling in a food order. Nick waved goodbye to the realtor. After all this time, he was finally ready to put David and Danielle’s house up for sale. During the past four days, Nick had boxed up all the dishes and kitchen counter appliances and donated them to charity. He sold some items to the antique shop in town.He went upstairs. David and Danielle’s bedroom was the last room he hadn’t gone through. Nick put it off because of the strange setup of the room. A few days after their murders, Nick had gone upstairs to the master bedroom. He saw a laptop and a camera setup. He was going to let it go, but Bonnie could have answers to questions that wouldn’t go away.He walked in. An old couple was sitting in a booth. Other than them, there was no one in there. Nick was at the station. Seven days today, and he hadn’t heard from Jackie at all. It looked like he would have to put his plan into motion. Nick and Goldman had laughed hysterically as they watched Jackie run out of the hotel. They had doubled over in the cruiser when Jackie hurled her portfolio on the ground.
