Zara’s POV

The morning air at the hospital was heavy with that uneasy stillness that only comes after chaos. The hallway smelled faintly of antiseptic and exhaustion. Zara stepped out of the elevator with her heart already racing. Her hair was tied up hastily, her sweatshirt wrinkled, her phone clutched tightly in her hand.

She had barely slept all night. Not after the doctor’s words. Not after seeing Leo’s face go pale when Elena fainted right in front of them.

And now this.

  • Getting back at my ex with his billionaire stepbrother    Light after rain

Zara’s POVThe studio was filled with sunlight.Soft, golden light poured through the tall glass windows, catching in the baby’s fine dark curls as he squirmed in Leo’s arms. A soft laugh escaped Zara’s lips as she reached to fix the tiny bowtie that her son kept trying to tug off.“Eli, sweetheart,” she whispered, brushing his cheek, “you have to keep it on for just five more minutes.”The baby gurgled the same mischievous sound Leo made when he was trying not to laugh.Leo’s chuckle rumbled behind her. “You know he gets that from you, right?”Zara turned, her smile blooming instantly. “Oh, please. The stubbornness is definitely yours.”“Maybe,” he said, with a teasing grin. “But he’s got your smile.”She couldn’t argue with that. When Eli smiled all dimples and tiny teeth the whole world seemed to brighten. The photographer, a cheerful woman with short red hair, adjusted her camera and called out gently, “Okay, let’s have Dad hold the baby while Mom stands behind him. Perfect, ju

  • Getting back at my ex with his billionaire stepbrother    The kiss in the rain

Zara’s POVThe rain had barely stopped when she heard the sound of a familiar car pulling up outside her house.Zara’s heart skipped that quick, fluttering beat that always came with his presence. She didn’t even need to look through the window to know it was him. She could feel it the steady hum of the engine, the quiet certainty that followed Leo wherever he went. For a moment, she just stood there in front of the mirror, breath catching. Her reflection looked different now softer, freer. The shadows under her eyes were fading, and for once, she didn’t look like she was trying to prove anything. She looked like herself. Then, without even thinking, she ran.Barefoot, hair tumbling loose around her shoulders, she darted through the hallway and threw the door open just as Leo was stepping out of the car.He looked up rain still clinging to his hair, his black coat hanging open, that faint, tired smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. For a heartbeat, the world went silent.Zara f

  • Getting back at my ex with his billionaire stepbrother    The Weight of rain and memory

Zara’s POVIt had started with rain.Everything always seemed to start with rain.Zara still remembered the night she met Leo not the way you remember a random encounter, but the way you remember something that shifts the axis of your life. She’d been standing in the street, soaked through, mascara running down her cheeks, her chest full of too many words she could never say. It had been the night Jayden broke her.Her phone buzzed in her hand an unknown number, a message that simply said:“Wanna get back at your ex?”She’d stared at it through tears, almost laughed at how absurd it was. But before she could reply, a car had pulled up beside her. The window rolled down, and a man stepped out tall, composed, wearing a black coat that looked far too expensive for a night that wild.Without a word, he’d taken the coat off and draped it over her shoulders. His voice had been low, calm, infuriatingly certain.“Revenge feels colder when you do it alone,” he said. “Let me help.”She didn’t

  • Getting back at my ex with his billionaire stepbrother    The road back to her

Leo’s POVThe city lights blurred past the windshield, soft gold and silver ribbons weaving through the night. The hum of the engine filled the silence, a steady rhythm that matched the beat of Leo’s heart calm, steady and full. It had been a long time since he’d driven without feeling the weight of war in his chest.Tonight felt different.Tonight, he was driving toward peace.Zara’s street wasn’t far now. He could already picture the soft light spilling through her living room window, the quiet comfort that came with her presence. It still amazed him how she could make an entire space feel alive just by being in it.He smiled faintly, his hands tightening on the steering wheel. “Lilac girl,” he whispered under his breath. He hadn’t called her that in years, not out loud, not since high school. But the name still held that same magic, the same weight. It was what he had called her the first night he saw her on stage during the senior showcase, wearing that soft lilac dress that shim

  • Getting back at my ex with his billionaire stepbrother    The last flight

Jayden’s POVThe airport was half-empty that morning pale light filtering through the glass walls, glinting off polished floors that smelled faintly of coffee and jet fuel. The world outside was waking up; inside, it felt like everything was slowing down.Jayden Beanet sat near the window, his suitcase by his feet, his fingers tracing the rim of a paper cup that had long gone cold. His boarding pass rested on the table beside it Flight 437, Zurich. A new life, a quiet one, far from the noise he had built and destroyed in equal measure. He could hear the faint buzz of conversation around him, a mother calming her crying child, a businessman arguing into his phone, the rhythmic roll of luggage wheels across the tiles. For the first time in his life, none of it belonged to him. The chaos wasn’t his to control anymore. He closed his eyes, exhaling slowly. His chest still hurt a dull, familiar ache that pulsed under his ribs. The doctor had called it “stress-induced arrhythmia,” but Jayde

  • Getting back at my ex with his billionaire stepbrother    Consequences

Leo’s POVThe morning air in Wellington Tower was sharp and quiet too quiet for a building that usually pulsed with movement. Leo stood by the glass wall of his office, hands tucked into his pockets, watching the sun climb over the skyline. The night before had been long meetings, calls, endless tracing of digital trails but sleep wasn’t something he could afford now.Fred had sent a short message at dawn: He’s here. And now, the door opened.Jayden Beanet stood in the doorway thinner than Leo remembered, his once effortless arrogance stripped away. He looked pale, worn, almost hollow. The dark circles under his eyes spoke of weeks of guilt and sleepless nights.“Leo,” he said quietly, voice rough.Leo didn’t turn. “You shouldn’t be here.”“I know,” Jayden said, stepping in anyway. “But I needed to talk to you. Before this gets worse.”Leo finally faced him, his gaze cold, assessing. “Worse? You mean before another scandal burns down what’s left of your father’s empire?”Jayden flin

Zara’s POVThe first thing Zara noticed that morning was the sound of her phone. It wouldn’t stop buzzing one notification after another, faster than she could blink. Elena’s POVThere’s a certain art in destroying someone. Not the loud, messy kind where everything explodes at once, no. Elena preferred something slower, smarter. • Getting back at my ex with his billionaire stepbrother    Echoes of the past

Leo’s POVThe rain hadn’t stopped since he left the café. It followed him, a cold whisper against his coat, soaking through the seams as if determined to remind him of each and every mistake he had ever made.By the time Leo reached his car, his hands were trembling not from the cold, but from ever

  • Getting back at my ex with his billionaire stepbrother    The art of Seduction

The city looked different at dusk softer, quieter, almost deceitfully calm. The rain from the previous night had polished the streets until they glistened like mirrors, reflecting the amber streetlights. Elena stood by her window, one hand resting against the glass, watching the way the world move
