CHAPTER 86 — THE VESSEL AWAKENS

The safehouse lay in ruin.

Dust and debris swirled in the air, illuminated by the faint glow of Luca’s mark, now flaring like molten fire beneath his skin. Every pulse radiated power—raw, alive, and terrifying.

Luca stood trembling, eyes wide, staring at the massive shadow that had emerged from the floor. Its form was colossal, like a mountain made of darkness, with eyes burning crimson and an aura that seemed to suck the warmth from the room.

Riven stepped closer, placing a protective hand on Luca’s shoulder. “It’s okay. I’m right here. I won’t let it take you.”

The bond throbbed violently, responding to the entity with a whispering that only Luca could hear:

“You are mine. You are chosen. Accept… or be consumed.”

Luca’s breath caught. His body shook, and his hand instinctively rose to his wrist, clutching the mark.

“No,” he muttered. “I… I won’t let it control me.”

The entity recoiled slightly, a sound like a thousand screams vibrating through the flo

CHAPTER 100—THE FINAL BONDThe storm roared above, a relentless cacophony of thunder, wind, and rain, shaking the docks like the world itself was tearing apart. Every flicker of lightning revealed the horrors surrounding them: the corrupted portal, the twisted, shadowy figures clawing their way out, and most terrifying of all—the figure that had once been Luca. But this Luca wasn’t the man Riven knew. Eyes glowing crimson, energy surging violently around him, he hovered above the water as if the very storm obeyed his corrupted will. The aura surrounding him twisted Riven’s senses, making the hair on his arms rise. Every heartbeat thudded like a war drum.Riven swallowed, forcing the lump in his throat down. “Luca… it’s me. It’s Riven. Fight it. Fight him.”The corrupted Luca’s gaze locked on him, and for a brief, terrifying second, the man he loved seemed to flicker inside the monster. Then the Master’s voice cut through the air like steel.“Your bond is weak… your love is a chain I w

CHAPTER 99 — THE MASTER’S TRUE MOVEThe docks were silent now, save for the occasional crackle of energy still lingering in the air. Rain had begun to pour again, soaking everything, turning the wreckage into slick, treacherous paths. Riven held Saint close, his heart still hammering from the chaos. But relief was fleeting. The Master’s laughter cut through the night like shattered glass.“You think saving one life undoes everything?” The voice was everywhere and nowhere at once, reverberating through the storm. “No, Riven Saintwalker. You’ve played into my hand from the very start.”Riven’s eyes narrowed. “Then show yourself! Face me! I’ve had enough of your games!”A shadow shifted across the docks. Bishop and Vex emerged, their expressions unreadable, eyes calculating. The Master’s form shimmered between them, almost intangible, a ghost of energy and darkness.“Brave words for someone who just fed me the energy I needed,” the Master said, voice low, almost a whisper carried on the

CHAPTER 98 — THE SACRIFICE GAMEThe storm raged above the city, turning the night into a chaotic symphony of thunder, wind, and lightning. The docks were a shattered mess, still echoing with the aftermath of the shadow creature’s destruction. Water swirled around broken beams and shattered metal, and smoke mingled with the mist in a haze that made the air thick and electric.Riven stood at the edge of the pier, chest heaving, eyes locked on the crimson glow where the chains suspended the figure. His heart screamed with recognition: Saint. Alive—but in unimaginable pain.“Riven…” Luca’s voice was low and tense, his eyes scanning the storm. “We need a plan. He’s not going to just hand them over. This… this is exactly what he wanted.”Riven clenched his fists, energy flaring around him. “I don’t care what he wants. Saint isn’t going to die. Not again. Not while I’m breathing.”Wolf appeared beside them, soaked and grim. “We can’t just storm in blindly. The Master’s traps are everywhere,

CHAPTER 97 — THE SHADOW ASCENDSThe shadow creature towered above the crumbling docks, its eyes blazing like molten coals. Every breath it exhaled pushed a wave of darkness across the water, swallowing the fractured moonlight. The waves crashed against the shattered boards, splintering timber like matchsticks.Riven gritted his teeth, energy flaring around him. Luca’s mark pulsed in tandem, bright enough to carve a protective halo around them. Tessiah crouched low, weapon aimed, her sharp eyes scanning for weak points, while Wolf fired strategically, each shot sending shards of metal slicing through the shadows.“This thing… It’s absorbing everything,” Tessiah shouted over the roaring storm. “Our attacks—energy, bullets, even the environment! It’s feeding off it!”Riven’s pulse raced. “Then we can’t hit it alone. Luca—full bond. All we’ve got.”Luca’s hand shot out, locking onto Riven’s. A surge of energy pulsed between them, spreading outward, igniting the air like a solar flare. The

CHAPTER 96—THE MASTER STRIKES BACKThe night after the warehouse battle was unnervingly silent. The storm had passed, leaving a heavy, suffocating calm over the city streets. Rain-slicked roads reflected neon lights like fractured mirrors, but Riven couldn’t see them. His mind was consumed by one thought: the Master of Strings was still out there. And he was preparing his next move.Luca sat beside him, bandaged but alert, eyes scanning the shadows. The bond between them throbbed like a living heartbeat, both a weapon and a warning.“We survived,” Luca said softly, voice low, “but it felt… too close. Too easy for him to retreat.”Riven clenched his fists. “It’s never easy. He’s not just powerful… he’s patient, cunning. He’s been manipulating everything for years. Saint… Bishop… Vex… they were all pawns. And now… so are we, if we aren’t careful.”Wolf appeared at the doorway, his grim expression hidden beneath the brim of his soaked hat. “He’s moving fast. His network—he’s activating i

CHAPTER 95 — FURY UNLEASHEDThe warehouse had become a battlefield, every inch soaked in rain, blood, and raw energy. The storm outside rattled the broken windows, echoing the chaos within. Shadows twisted like living creatures, responding to the Master of Strings, who stood at the centre like a god among mortals.Riven’s chest burnt as he clutched Luca’s hand. Their bond pulsed violently, radiating light that cut through the darkness like a blade. Tessiah crouched behind a toppled crate, weapon ready, eyes flicking between the Master, Bishop, and Vex.“We fight now,” Riven growled, voice steady despite the firestorm around them. “No holding back. No mistakes.”Luca’s mark glowed white-hot, energy surging like a tidal wave. “I’m with you,” he said, voice unwavering. “Every step. Every strike.”The Master smirked, shadows writhing around him. “Ah, the bond. Beautiful… but naïve. Let me show you the cost of defiance.”With a flick of his hand, the shadows erupted, tendrils slamming into
