Flashback*** Alpha Draco looked around the dining room at the seated Alphas and told them to go with him. The affected Alphas were dIrectly walking behind him while the others walked behind them. He led the way through several corridors in the pack house. They soon left the bright, well lit hallways and began to descend down towards some dark, dreary hallways. The hallways were tiny and could hardly take a large wolf as two people couldn't walk side by side while walking along them. The party of Alphas kept walking through the hallways and they soon arrived at the underground cells that housed some of the hardened rogues terrorising the area. "Here…" Alpha Draco said as he stretched out his hand for a key and opened the door to a cell. A lady was lying on the floor and her little son who was about eight years old was sleeping on the floor beside her. The moment the door opened, the woman sprang up and growled aggressively. She rushed forward and stood before her son who wa
Still flashback ***The next morning, all the Alphas were summoned to the throne room where they were to undertake their next challenge. They had a whole day and night of resting and eating well. My father admitted to the sumptuous and exotic meals they were being served and the great way they were being cared for. After all of the summoned Alphas had arrived, Alpha Draco presented the next challenge. All of the Alphas would fight each other in twos and the winner would fight him. However, there was a catch to it. It would be better for the winner to win because even if he emerged winner from the Alpha's bout and couldn't win him, that amounts to losing. In order to ensure a fair fight, none of his warriors or even his Beta would partake in it. It was going to be strictly an Alpha's affair. There were eight Alphas present and that meant there were going to be four groupsof twos. My father was in the third group and he was paired with Alpha Noel, the Alpha who wanted me for himsel
Natalia’s povFlashbackMy father returned back to our pack after staying for two weeks at Devil Claw Wolfpack. He couldn't participate in all of the remaining games due to his health and that automatically disqualified him in Alpha Draco's book. He had lost the games he had participated in earlier and that hadn't worked to his favour when things went south due to his health. Before he left Devil Claw Wolfpack, he was told to prepare the tribute items to Alpha Draco as Beta Heimdall would be coming for it in six weeks time. Father knew that there was no two ways about it so he nodded his consent and began his journey back home while thoughts of the tribute filled his mind. Upon his return back to the pack, he spoke with his Beta and several elders of the pack and they all began to seek ways of getting the tribute ready. They all agreed at the meeting not to let the pack members know of Alpha Talon's inability to win at the Alphas games so that the pack wouldn't lose respect for
Natalia’s povFlashbackBeta Heimdall obviously hadn't expected to be challenged. He spun around as he had been backing the people after the insult he passed to my father. The brief expression of surprise followed by shock on his face was satisfying to see. He raised his eyebrows and tried to look around at the people in order to fish out who had spoken. Fear gripped everyone around me as my mother subtly tried to pull me away from where I was defiantly standing with my hands on my hips but I shook her off in anger.I was too angry at that point to think of fear. In fact, the fear I should have felt only made me become bolder. I had two options. Either I pleadingly become meek and retract my words or stand tall and proud for my father. I chose the latter option. I wouldn't back down. It wasn't a part of me. So, becoming more brazen, I opened up my mouth and began to speak. "Huh! Are you surprised? No! You aren't. You just didn't expect someone to stand up to you and speak out aga
Beta Heimdall's P.O.VI felt like strangling her and making her mouth twist sideways. She needed to suffer for the rude way she had spoken and acted. Most especially, the way she had stood up to me. I felt she should be punished. The Alpha shouldn't have brushed my suggestions that she be shown who was superior aside. He only told me to let things go for the main time since I had taken her as tribute. She should be tied to a tree and thrashed with a whip that had silver blades attached to its tips. I hated her and her guts. In fact, she should be strangled by no other person but me. The only reason she made it to Devil Claw Wolfpack was because I needed to present her whole to my Alpha. If there was a way I could have disposed of her, I would have done so already. But there was no way I could do that without my Alpha knowing about it. If her father didn't inform him,the maids and warriors would surely sing. There was no way I would be able to silence them. I took one last look at
Author's pov"What do we do now?" A nurse rushed from outside into the ward. " Beta Heimdall is on his way and she's yet to wake up."The look of anxiety and gear on the nurse's face was immediately copied by several other nurses and staff of the Devil Claw Wolfpack's medical team. They all frantically began to move in different directions as none of them wanted to be caught by the approaching Beta. He was as furious as a tailless bull. It had been three days since Natalia lost her consciousness in front of Devil Claw Wolfpack's pack house and Alpha Draco's order that none of them was leaving the office until she woke up. By the time the furious Beta Heimdall stormed up to the door of the medical building, only a frightened little nurse was standing behind the large desk and shaking like a leaf in her seat. "Y..yo..you're w...w..welcome, Beta Heimdall." She managed to stammer out frighteningly while her hands were tightly clasped in front of her. Her frightened face was pale and
Alpha Draco's P.O.V. I looked at my Beta calmly seated on the other side of the table and squinted my eyes dangerously. My wolf was dancing on the edge and it was just a little provocation that would make me snap and unleash it. I was looking for an outlet to release my anger but I didn't want him to be at the receiving end. I knew he hated the girl and being berated for her sake wasn't going to help matters. I pushed back my wolf at this thought and began to think of other things. He had just told me the doctor's report. The tribute girl wasn't waking up until she felt like it. I didn't know what to feel. Anger. Amusement. Wonder. Bewilderment. I was the god my pack and its subsidiaries look up to and worship after the moon goddess. I determine who could live and who could die. I determine who could sleep and who couldn't. If I decided that no one could sleep for the next three days, my order would be carried out without anyone raising any objections or batting an eyelid. So, I
Beta Heimdall's P O.VI stormed down the hallway from the Alpha's office to the living room. My anger knew no bounds. I couldn't understand why Alpha Draco was indulging her. I got outside and stormed towards one of the pillars standing against the roof. Without another thought or word, I sent my fist towards it. The force of the fist connecting with it made the roof shake. I could see several of the warriors training and once they saw me, they hurriedly bowed their heads in greeting. I ignoted them abd went among them selecting those who would go with me to Talon pack. I couldn't bear the thought that a tribute girl was making me run around like there was a rope around my neck. This made whatever hate I had for her triple in my heart. For now, I wasn't just seeking her punishment. I was seeking her death abd the total annihilation of her pack. The pack she desperately wanted to save. "Are you done selecting your men? Are you already on the way?"I heard Alpha Draco's stern and e
