Chapter 2

Author: Perfect Timing
I stormed straight into the live stream, interrupting Daniel mid-bite, holding up the 20 takeout orders in my hands.

"Daniel, you can't keep eating. This is terrible for your health. I'll help you eat. You should take a break."

Daniel lifted his head from his plate, confused. "Ryan, I'm streaming. Can you not cause trouble right now?"

I stepped into the frame, making sure my face was fully visible. I had dressed up for this, and being slimmer than Daniel naturally made me look sharper and more attractive on screen.

He was still a small-time streamer with almost no loyal followers. The moment I appeared, the chat exploded. Everyone wanted to watch me eat.

Daniel didn't dare scold me on camera, so he stood up and motioned for me to take over.

I reached for a box of fruit salad first. It was mostly mango, which Daniel was allergic to.

I chose it intentionally. I wanted to see if the transfer system worked both ways. If I ate something he couldn't, would he react?

I finished the fruit salad. The chat praised my eating style, saying it was satisfying to watch, and a few viewers even sent me generous gifts.

I gave Daniel a faint smile. "Seems like the audience likes watching me eat more. Don't worry, this was just a spur-of-the-moment idea. All the gifts are yours."

Daniel scowled, clearly unhappy at losing the spotlight.

I kept my eyes on his face, hoping to catch any sign of an allergic reaction, but I saw nothing but anger.

One fruit salad clearly wouldn't do. I took out a large mango pudding and a giant slice of layered mango cake.

Daniel tried to take back control. "Ryan, my streaming career is just starting. If you want to stream, create your own account. Don't steal my spotlight. Move over and let me eat. If you insist, we can eat together and see who eats more."

He reached for his plate of spicy aglio e olio, but I grabbed it first and held it up to the camera.

"I'm just looking out for your health. This pasta is loaded with chili, which isn't great for your stomach, especially with ice-cold soda. If you want to eat, go for something lighter, like oatmeal."

I grabbed one of the takeout boxes—a hearty serving of oatmeal loaded with nuts and dried fruit—and set it in front of me.

The chat loved my thoughtful gesture. They called me handsome and kind, sent even more gifts, and urged Daniel to take a break. Everyone wanted to watch me instead.

Daniel looked like he wanted to call Chloe for backup, but she was grinning at the gift revenue flashing on her screen. As far as she was concerned, anyone who made money was fine, especially since I was earning more than Daniel.

Despite my stomach protesting, I finished the mango pudding and the layered mango cake. However, Daniel didn't show a single reaction.

In the past, he would have broken out in hives after just one bite of mango.

Damn it. The transfer system was one-sided.

Everything Daniel ate went to me, but nothing I ate transferred to him.

Feeling completely stuffed, I waved my phone at the camera. "It's late, everyone. Get some sleep. Staying up isn't good for you. See you next time if fate allows."

After saying goodbye to the viewers, I ended the live stream.

Back in my car, I grabbed a plastic bag and emptied my stomach, vomiting everything I had just eaten.

"So what if you know?" Daniel said. "You took more stomach meds, which means you're back to absorbing everything I eat. "In a few days, I'll stream myself eating ten pounds of mashed potatoes. You can wait to die. You'll stay put until then. If you survive, consider yourself lucky. If not, you can only blame yourself."Ten pounds of mashed potatoes would wreck anyone's stomach. Daniel was dead set on trading my life for his live stream views."Don't even try anything," he added. "You're not breaking the link unless I die."His smug grin didn't shake me. I kept my expression flat. If that was what he wanted, then he could be the one to die.Three days later, Daniel sat in front of the camera, shoveling mashed potatoes into his mouth, when his face suddenly twisted. He gagged, spat blood across the table, and collapsed. Seconds later, he stopped breathing.Someone watching the stream called 911. Police arrived, took Chloe into custody, and freed me.Chloe was confused, but there

After closing the door behind me, I didn't leave immediately. I stayed in the corridor, watching through the small glass panel above the handle.Inside, Daniel dug through his bag and pulled out a bottle of antacids. He dumped the entire thing into the trash and cursed me under his breath.Everything I had said to him earlier had only been a hunch. I wasn't completely certain, but watching him throw the entire bottle away confirmed it.The next few days were bliss for me. I ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, working my way through every food I had avoided for years.I thought Daniel would eventually break and come begging. Instead, he bought a giant bottle of painkillers and started popping them like candy. Whenever the cramps hit, he swallowed a handful to force the pain back down. However, that kind of thing only worked on the surface. The body built tolerance. He could grit his teeth for a while, but not forever.Eventually, he reached his limit. One afternoon, he fina

We sat in the restaurant's main hall. Even at this hour, plenty of diners were still around. The moment the smell hit them, murmurs spread."Who's letting out that stink? Ugh, if your stomach's messed up, don't eat raw seafood.""This is awful. How are we supposed to eat like this?""Is it coming from that table? I think the smell is drifting from there."As the other diners began sniffing the air and looking around, Daniel could no longer hold back. He slammed his hand on the table and stood up. "Enough! Stop eating!"I set my fork down, annoyed. "What's your problem? I'm just eating," I pushed open a window to air out the stench.Daniel doubled over, clutching his stomach. Cold sweat beaded his forehead, and he trembled as if he were in unbearable pain.A waiter noticed and came over. "Sir, are you alright? Do you need help?"Daniel grabbed onto the words like a lifeline. "Where's the restroom?"He sprinted in the direction the waiter pointed, but Chloe called after him, "Do

I heard that Daniel had been complaining about stomach issues lately. He went from one doctor to another without a single diagnosis. With no physical cause, the only explanation left was psychological.Daniel, of course, would never admit that. He refused to acknowledge that his stomach pain might be all in his head.Chloe's suspicion only grew. She was convinced he was faking it to avoid streaming."Can you eat or not? If not, get out! You've been living in my place all this time. Your rent's due!"Chloe could switch gears instantly. Once someone no longer served a purpose, she discarded them without hesitation.Daniel had already tasted the money that came from streaming. He couldn't let his hard-earned career stall. He decided to go all out this time, aiming for a big payday. The future could wait. Many competitive eaters faked it these days. They pretended to eat, then spit the food out. If others could do it, so could he.Ten days passed quickly. As soon as I got off the p

The competition ended with Daniel collapsing, leaving the live stream in stunned silence. Some viewers even clipped the moment he passed gas and turned it into a viral meme. His humiliation couldn't have been greater. After he fainted, Daniel was rushed to the hospital. The doctors ran every test and found nothing wrong. Once he woke up, he bolted straight to the bathroom. Chloe was about to ask what had happened when he came out, but a sudden cramp sent him running back.He spent almost the entire day doubling over on the toilet. His stomach hurt, yet all he could manage were a few loud farts.Chloe assumed he was exaggerating. She barged into the bathroom, demanding, "What's going on? The doctor said you're fine. Stop pretending!"Daniel looked at her weakly, finally experiencing the helpless frustration I had carried in my previous life."I don't know," he admitted. "My stomach really hurts. It feels like it's being cut. Believe me."Chloe brushed his hand away and scoffed. "I

I clenched my fists and pressed against the wall to steady myself, forcing a smile. "I'm not faking it. It's just my stomach acting up. Am I not even allowed to get sick?"With Chloe here, live on stream, there was nothing I could do. I had no choice but to leave this chaotic scene. However, Chloe wouldn't let me go. She even urged Daniel to finish the remaining burgers."Don't act up again. Consider this a lesson," she said coldly.Back at the hospital, the doctor glared at me in exasperation, asking why I had eaten again. He wondered if I had some sort of binge‑eating disorder and even suggested I see a therapist.I laughed bitterly. In truth, I hadn't eaten properly in days. My stomach felt perpetually full. This time, the doctor refused to discharge me. I had to stay in the hospital for treatment. I listened, obediently remaining in the ward.It didn't take long before I sensed Daniel bingeing once more.I opened the live stream and saw Chloe taking him on a food tour, orde
