Chapter 41

Five years ago, Jane woke up sweating and gasping for breath. It was like she suddenly woke up from a long sleep. Her forehead furrowed as she realized she was in an unfamiliar place. The walls were made of wood, and there was a large window beside her with bamboo sticks supporting it. She also noticed a small entrance at her feet with no door. There was only a long red curtain.

Jane groaned when she felt a sharp pain in her left shoulder. It was then that she noticed she was wearing different clothes.

"Where am I? What happened?" she wondered.

She swallowed hard. Her throat was dry, and she coughed a little, but it only made it itchier. Her last memory was being on a yacht. Jane clenched her fist as she remembered what happened to her.
