CHAPTER 140: CAUGHT IN A LIE

It's lunchtime already, and I made something that Michael might like.

The last message he sent me was this morning when he arrived at the building. And my phone hasn't received any ring from his number.

I was planning on surprising him, but I didn't know that my plan is going to be useless.

"I'm so sorry, Mrs. Montero, but Sir Montero left in a hurry just an hour ago," Chet answered when I was about to approach the office door.

"Oh," I mumbled and took a step back. "Did he say anything about his whereabouts or his schedule today?"

With his comely appearance, he gave me an uncertain look. "I am not sure of Sir Montero's sudden departure, but his today's schedule is a lunch meeting, and a visit to a friend, I believe."
