Chapter 3838 It's Her Honor

Author: Five Generals
“What’s the matter, Young Master Siegfried. See anything?” Jackie asked.

“It’s nothing. I just saw someone.”

Clemont knew it could not be done easily. Judging from the situation, it seemed like Clarice refused to race.

If so, things just got a little more difficult.

Clemont wanted to find a chance to teach Clarice a lesson, indirectly embarrassing the Witterson family.

Though he might not be able to do anything in the open, he could do something secretly. With that many people at the scene, he could easily escape, too.

He was just part of the audience. Even if something happened, he would not be involved.

“What? Who? Who caught your attention?”

Jackie looked in the same direction and tried to locate the person of interest.

If only he could get Clemont into a bet and make him pay up willingly…

His goal was simply to get Clemont’s money. He never intended to hurt him.

Clemont would not be aware of it, and they could still be friends.

Then, Jackie and the others cou

Luca stood outside the door, keeping an ear out for things. She knocked on the door to interrupt the conversation at any sign of trouble. “Ms. Quint, the meeting is about to start. We should get going,” Luca uttered and glanced at Robbie apologetically. “Have a good rest, Mr. Carpson. We can talk about cooperation once you’re back on your feet,” Darcy uttered while getting up to leave. Nevertheless, she placed the peeled apple on the bedside table. “I think the partnership should be a joint venture between two companies, Mr. Carpson. It is not solely my responsibility. Even with my best efforts, I can’t push ahead on my own. We can only walk away if the other party isn’t committed.” Darcy did not want to grovel. The collaboration was supposed to benefit both sides. However, Robbie kept dragging his feet. It did not seem like a partnership was on the horizon. Darcy picked up on the clues during this hospital visit. Since there were no flowers found in Robbie’s room,

It was bustling at the hospital, but this floor was quieter with fewer people. When Darcy and Luca arrived with a gift basket, a nurse approached and registered their visit. Another nurse went to the ward to check if Robbie was open to having visitors. Robbie was surprised to see Darcy. Still, he nodded to let the girls in. It was a pleasant surprise that Darcy would rush over to see him upon learning the news. Darcy carried the things into the ward, and the smell of antiseptic hit her. Robbie looked sad, lying in bed with his bandaged legs. He looked well and alert, just not as cheery as before. “What happened, Mr. Carpson? How did you get into the accident?” All Darcy knew was that Robbie was involved in a crash. She did not expect the incident to occur under such circumstances. “The driver was careless behind the wheel, but we are lucky to be alive.” The last thing on Robbie’s mind was to flirt with Darcy. At one point, Robbie considered taking Darcy as his l

Edmund was put in the spot because he was not keen on playing mind games with businesspeople. Their greed was insatiable. Edmund had to put them in their place. By giving them the squeeze when appropriate, Edmund would remind them that second chances did not come very often. The businesspeople would think twice before pulling any stunt. The situation was hard to put into words, but it was essentially a tug-of-war between two sides. “Know your limits, and ease up when appropriate. Don’t push things to the limit,” Kaze said, understanding that Edmund had his own judgment. Still, he voiced his concern. “Don’t worry, Mr. Lee. I know what to do. They just need a little push before they stop.” Having dealt with the businesspeople for a while, Edmund understood their needs and their nature. Edmund was certain of his course of action. “But what are we going to do with Robbie? Are we going to let him go?” Edmund asked. He could not figure out Kaze’s next move. Injured, Ro

“These people sound pretty full of themselves. Let’s see what they’ve got.” Robbie knew right there and then that he had backup. Driven by fury, his branch leader would get even with Edmund and his connections. Robbie could sit back and wait for the show. A new battle began, marking the dawn of a new chapter.“Alright, I will give my full cooperation,” Robbie said. His life was hanging by a thread. Robbie had been warned, and God knew what would happen next. Robbie had a feeling that he would not see the last of Edmund; there was more to come. He made the phone call, and his life hinged on whether his branch leader would step in. Robbie could then leave the Godforsaken place. On the other end of the line, the person coordinated a team right away. Robbie was usually thorough with his work. However, things took a wrong turn this time. It was not a reflection of his incompetence. His rivals were simply more than he could handle. Robbie heaved a sigh of relief whe

“I shouldn’t have left home today. If only I knew.” “We saved Robbie. Does that mean we’re in trouble?” “I don’t think so. If Mr. Witterson means business, he would’ve done so from a distance to make sure there are no witnesses,” someone murmured. In truth, panic took over. While the businessmen engaged in conversation, an ambulance arrived at the scene. The medical staff got out to examine the wounded before transporting them away. The businessmen dispersed after their talk. They were all thinking about sending Edmund some gifts. Everybody wanted to bribe Edmund with gifts, hoping he would forget their little attempt to rebel. Edmund could not care less about the gifts and simply dumped them on his subordinates. Of course, he would not hold this against the businesspeople. Nevertheless, he would be cutting their earnings in the next contract. That was the price they had to pay. Edmund would not wipe them off the face of the earth or stop the partnerships. He wo

“You’re right. I’ve had too much to drink. Talk about going way over my head.” “Come to think of it, Edmund once beat Morris out of the game. It won’t do us good to upset him. We should forget it and reduce these gatherings.” “You have a point. Let’s not come together for this reason. We can have a few drinks together, but we should not be planning something else.” While engaging in a conversation, the group took their positions.Only Carl stayed there with a grimace. He hosted the get-togethers to network. In other words, Carl was creating opportunities for the younger members of his family. Things took a nasty turn instead. “Robbie is such a nuisance. I expected him to bring me positive changes, not trouble. “I need to apologize to Edmund somehow, or I’ll lose my standing in business.” Carl beat himself up, but it was no time to dwell on remorse. He had to figure out a way to bounce back. Robbie felt uncomfortable during the car ride, his head dizzy from having to
