Chapter 4821 False Alarm

Author: Five Generals
Darcy thought Kaze would explain himself. However, he just stood there without saying a word.

It left her extremely dissatisfied and even a little resentful.

“Why are you saying something like that now? Why don’t you just keep pretending?”

Her tone carried a trace of anger.

She hated being deceived, yet she had been completely fooled by him.

Seeing that Darcy was not listening to him, Kaze knew that further explanation would be useless.

He felt a headache coming.

“I don’t have time to explain,” he said while walking outside.

There happened to be a fire alarm.

Darcy wanted to argue with Kaze, but he simply walked away. Unable to accept this, she stood up to chase after him, hoping to talk things through.

By the time she arrived, Kaze had already slammed his fist down on the fire alarm button on the wall.

“What are you doing? Activating false alarms is illegal.”

Darcy understood that once the fire alarm was triggered, everyone would evacuate immediately, and firefighters woul

“It’s diffused. There’s no need to worry anymore,” Kaze called out to Edmund and the others in the distance. Hearing the commotion, Edmund ran over to Kaze. When he saw that the time stopped at the very last second, he immediately ordered his men to disarm it and get rid of it as quickly as possible. With Edmund’s help, Kaze got up on his feet. Not far away, he caught sight of Darcy. A small, relieved smile appeared on his face. Some things did not need words. Just one look was enough for them to understand each other. When he walked over to her, he saw a smile on her face as well, but it looked stiff. She also looked rather pale and sickly. His heart sank. Something was wrong. He rushed forward in time to catch her before she collapsed. Darcy looked at him weakly; her eyes could barely open. Panic shot through Kaze. He did not know what had happened to her. She was fine a while ago. Why had she suddenly collapsed?“Darcy? Hey, look at me! Are you okay?” As he spoke, he c

“I won’t cause any trouble.” Darcy had no intention of causing trouble for the team. Only then did Ryan relax a little and lead Darcy up to the roof. Darcy had a hard time climbing the stairs, but she insisted on finding out what was happening up there. She hated Kaze for lying to her, but on second thought, despite his deceit, he had not actually done anything to harm her. Besides, when Kaze fled earlier, he had been protecting her the whole time. He had done more than enough. She decided she would not dwell on the past, at least not about the part where he lied to her. She knew what needed to be done and would not make life harder for the people around her.Ryan watched Darcy move slowly, but he did not press. He simply followed her quietly. They made their way to the rooftop at a slow, tense pace. When Darcy finally reached the top, the first thing she saw was bodies scattered around. Not a single one of them was moving; it was impossible to tell who was dead and who was b

Kaze did not want to waste any more time. He felt the matter was already settled, and that Lyra had seen him before she took her last breath, so at least she would not die with regrets. Her death was not unjust, and her loss was not undeserved. If anyone was to blame, her pride was the reason why she looked down on people, and her arrogance was what made her careless. “You tricked me, and I never even suspected you once,” she muttered as she glared at Kaze. She did not want to lose or give up. “You started it. I have nothing to do with it,” Kaze replied, still cold and unbothered. He did not want to explain himself; there was no point. For a moment, Lyra laughed hysterically. She coughed, and blood bubbled from her mouth. Kaze could not bear to watch her anymore. Lyra was a beautiful woman, but she was what they called a femme fatale. Now, she lay on the cold concrete, sinking into a pool of blood. There was a tragic, almost poetic look to it that made people uneasy. Kaz

Kaze knew the true identity of the Westeros branch leader because he was it. In fact, he had been intentionally concealing his identity. Lyra did not want to waste any more time. All she wanted was the truth and a way to turn the situation around. If Kaze showed interest in her offer, then she might be able to get him on her side. “But I’m too afraid to reveal it,” Kaze said with a troubled look. “Only a handful of people in the entire West State know the branch leader’s true identity, so nobody would reveal it,” he said with a sigh and stepped forward. “So you do know who he is?” Lyra looked at Kaze, her eyes wide with tension. She had been troubled by the question for a long time. The Westeros branch leader was extremely mysterious, and no one seemed to have seen him before. Maybe only Edmund knew the man’s true identity, but Kaze was more powerful than him, so it was natural that he, too, would know. Lyra saw Edmund as an incompetent fool who acted like a puppet. There

Lyra refused to accept defeat or die here, but she wanted to use the chance to turn the tide around. Her men were useless. None of them was able to get a hold of Kaze. Instead, they were killed in the process, leaving her completely alone. If she had a chance to do it over, she would find more capable men to serve her. She might not know who Kaze really was, but she acknowledged his strength. If he could serve her, she would be unstoppable. “Who says you don’t have a choice? You have a lot of choices.” Lyra smiled, looking confident. She had not activated the bomb on her yet, but once it detonated, the entire building would be demolished. She held the black remote control tightly in her hand, preventing anyone from getting close. Her finger was just millimeters away from the trigger. That was her protection but also her greatest threat.“What do you mean? What choices do I have?” Kaze asked, feigning ignorance. “You have a choice. If my plan worked, I would be in command o

Kaze must be careful in handling the situation and the bomb strapped onto Lyra’s chest. Otherwise, everyone would perish. He sighed. “There are winners and there are losers. Why are you doing this? You lost, so just accept it,” he said, trying to buy time. Suddenly, Lyra laughed hysterically. “You’re right. I lost, but I can’t accept it. This is rigged from the start. The Westeros branch leader has been hiding in the shadows from the very beginning and has never made a move, yet things just went his way.” She felt pathetic thinking about it. She had planned everything out meticulously, only to suffer a crushing defeat. She thought she had everything under control, not realizing that she was losing control in the process. She looked around at her men, mostly dead or dying. Some of them were gasping for air, but they would not last very long. Lyra was treated like a queen, no matter where she went. Even when she was hiding in the mansion outside the city, her men served and w
