Chapter 14 Spanner in the works.
The loan to buy the car was pretty much. Sarah and Jacob where now just barely making ends meet, with a new baby.
They moved into a cheaper place 10 doors away from their current house.
It was a free standing outbuilding. Old and shabby. But it would have to do.
They settled in. Sarah was on maternity leave and only received one third of a salary from work and every month she sat at the unemployment office to collect another one third.
This was a big change. Sarah told herself its ok, just four months to struggle it out and I will be back at work.
Sarah decided to work part time at a big brand pharmacy to make extra money. Her aunts mother in law offered to look after Alex in that time and also when Sarah went back to work. Sarah was relieved to have Alex well taken care off.

Sarah's 24th birthday had just passed. Her menstrual cycle is a week late. She buys a pregnancy test on her way home, Jacob was working till eight o clock tonight. Sarah always thought when ever things were going right, something would always go wrong.It was during her first trimester that Jacob had injured his lower back and was in excruciating pain. They had gone to the hospital and Jacob did a few x-rays. The emergency room doctor called them in and said that it was a slipped disk, c4 in his lower back. This had happened 5 years ago and he had to stay in hospital for a short time to recover. Jacob was still asleep when Sarah visited him. It was still too early. He was always a late riser. She looked at his arms. Sarah went back to her ward. He bed was dressed with fresh sheets. Her mother sent her a set of clean clothes. After one week of bed rest Sarah was discharged but she was put off from work for another two weeks. She had made it through this challenged times. Her baby was okay, but she needed to still rest to keep him or her alive.Jacob was also discharged on the same day. His hands were still wrapped in bandages and he was given a date for the next week. Sarah already knew the procedure for next week by reading his file. They left the hospital together after fetching their medication from the pharmacy.
