HOMECOMING

As soon as I got to the company building, I saw Dean outside. I guess he was waiting for me since i told him i was near the company. For how long have he being standing?

“Hey!” He called out as i approached the transparent glass door.

“Hi!” He grabbed my hand and gently pulled me closer and kissed my lips, then he looked into my eyes.

“Why?” He asked and I rolled my eyes. If not because of i love him. I swear, i would have stepped on his feet and walked away.

“I am sorry, okay? But you did not ask why I did it.” I stood like a galant soldier at his front and focused my gaze at his furrowed brows. He looked handsome even when been pissed.

“Then what is it, Miss Andrey?” He asked and the moment i heard him mention my name, I got furious and i knew he was serious, so i avoided eyes contact. We were both angry at each other. Anytime he mentions my name, it was a sign of a bit of anger in him.

He called my name! This dude have got to be knocked on the head, I swear.

“I... I... I need to go back home. I already booked for a night flight and want to take an excuse from the company.” I dared not to look at him else, only his cold eyes could stab me.

“What!” He yelled and eyes glanced at our direction. Since i wasn't saying anything else, he dragged me by my arm and i looked up at him. He looked red, “Are you fucking kidding me?” i nodded and he got more furious, “Tell me what is really going on and why you're taking decisions without letting me know of them. How can everything change over night?” 

‘Awww, let me go and i will explain. People are watching.’ I struggled myself free and gave him a bad stare.

“Now talk!” He exclaimed angrily.

‘I have some family issues and i need to go back home and clarify things.’ I need to leave this spot. I love my job and do not intend to lose it because of Dean. Though Dean's family is friends with the owners of the company but I do not want to rely on anyone. Without Dean's help, I've been doing well in the company.

“And what is it that makes book a night flight just like that?” Dean asked. He kept asking questions like a lesson teacher and it was so fucking annoying.

‘I do not have the full details and that is why i want to go home. Now, if you do not mind, I have alot of things to do.’ I moved away and overlooked his facial expression. I hate whenever he tries to control me. His recent attitude of being posssive, pissed me and it annoyed me to the core. I hate it!

While I walked away, I felt he was still staring at me but i did not turn to look or act regretful. I love him but my family comes first. The choice was for him to pick.

‘Hello Rita!’ A black girl at the receptionist stand. She was nice and polite.

“Hi Andy! How are you doing today?” She asked.

As i approached her, ‘I am fine! Anything for today?’ She shook her head and smiled.

“Nah!” She responded and i turned away.

“Thank you!” I yelled.

I walked pass some staffs and got to a passage that led to my office. Yeah, I got promoted and owned a separate office. While trying to open my office, i heard footsteps from behind and the person call out my name, i turned to look. It was my best friend, Kitty.

‘Hey Kitty! How are you?’ I opened the door with the keys as she matched closer to where i stood.

Kitty is just too sensitive. I wondered if she was going to read my mind.

“I should be the one asking you that. You look a bit pale this morning and got a black eyes. Did you sleep at all last night?” Kitty asked and i tried to change the topic.

Oh no! Not up to a minute, she already sensed it.

“What is that?” That was all i noticed after scanning her. I wanted to distracted her but Kitty is so smart, I had doubt she was going to give up so easily.

“Just some work!” Kitty responded calmly. I twisted the door knob and pushed the door open, so we could both walk in, “Now, what is wrong? I can feel the awkward vibe.” She watched me, keep my handbag on my desk and approached my seat at opposite direction. Kitty on the other hand, placed her documents on my desk with her hand on it and the other hand on her waist.

And now, she is serious. I have when she focus her gaze on me. She don't want to miss an emotion on my face. Making it impossible for me to lie.

“I am going home today!” I uttered drily and just the same reaction with Dean but a bit different. She freezed with her green cat eyes not daring to blink. Yeah, she wore lens. Her eyes real colors were black and she hated it, so she got lens.

“What? How come? Did something happen? Why the rush? I told you wanted to go by Christmas?” Kitty bombed me with her questions. Her eyes were stuck on me that i feared being struggled by them. But anyways, eyes can't do anything.

“Wow, wow! You need to calm down with your questions. Kaylee called and said something about getting married. I wish I have the full details to give you an accurate answer but no, I am stranded as well. And my parents seem to be avoiding my calls. Even when mum picked, she did not say anything about Kaylee's marriage.” I took a deep breath, then continued, “I know my sister wants me to come back home and have tried alot of tricks but she sounded so serious and scared. Even mum's voice was different. I am confused and the only way to know what is really going on is by visiting home.” I rested my head on my desk and suddenly felt Kitty's hand on my back.

“I get it and since you are not near them, you must be really tensed. But what if it is all a prank to get you to come over?” Kitty asked and i refuses to think about how crazy I will get. I won't take it easy with them and if possible, book a flight immediately. But I can not tell this to her.

I frowned and looked up at Kitty, “Untill then, I will have a better reaction but first, I need to finish my work.” I said and she nodded.

I dragged my handbag closer and took out my laptop and phone. 

Kitty was about to leave when she turned, “Is Dean aware of this?” Her eyes twitched.

“Emmmmm, yeah, he is but we had a silly agruement this morning. He acts like we are married already and i can't take decisions without his knowledge.” I arranged my laptop in front of me and took the last document remaining to type. 

My desk was always in natty arrangement. And that was as a result of, before i go home everyday, i ensure to clean it up and arrange so the next day, I won't waste my morning energy on arranging the desk.

“I will be back for a full gist. I really have to summit this before noon.” Kitty raised her documents in the air and i nodded, “You too have work.” I smiled and watched her walk out of my office before turning back to work with my laptop.
