PARENTS ARGUMENT

KAYLEE'S POV

Bruh... Bruh... 

Who will not let me sleep in peace? I picked up my phone and looked at the caller, 'Big Sis!' I knew she would call. She never fails to her promises and never makes promises she can not fulfill. 

“Hello Kaylee! How are you?” She said before I could utter a word. 

“To be honest, I am not happy! I wish you were here!” I replied honestly. 

“Hey, what is the problem? Are you ill? Is mum and dad okay?” she burst out questions. I can sense she is worried.  

“Not really what you think, We are okay! Something quite unthoughful just came up.” I need to tell her now or just hold my peace but how can I hold my peace when, i'm been dragged to marry or stick with someone I barely know.  

“Is not like I have any where to go. Tell me about it!” Andrey requested. 

“Dad said he owe Mr. Ethan some money and the man is asking for me as a replacement.” I stood from the bed and head to my sofa. 

“What?” Audrey yelled at the background and it was deafening. 

“Yeah!” I responded. 

“Why does he want you? Do you hang out with him?” Audrey asked and i sighed. 

“I do not! I have only come across posts about him and that is all.” I replied. 

“And what is dad saying about it?” Audrey asked and I furrowed my brows as I remembered dad's reaction. 

“I think he accepted to it! I really do not know if dad is been threatened by that billionaire. I am scared, sis! Do not let them take me away, please! I do not know what they will do to me.” I began to sob. 

“Hey baby sis, do not cry okay? Big sis got you covered. I will fly back home as soon as I summit my documents to the board here. You know there was a protest about the delayed salaries of staffs? So it is affecting the management and I am asked to make alot of copies of different documents. But will summit them by tomorrow and take permission to fly over.” Audrey replied and I smiled.

I know things would change if she comes home. Dad listens to her more and I am sure she will make them not take me away. But why would a rich man like Mr. Ethan need me? I am just a teenager! Is he into small girls? I really do not get it and it scares a hell out of me just thinking of it. 

“Okay sis!” I replied with a little sparkle of excitement. It has been a while we saw her, yeah, a year ago if I am not mistaken and she had promised to return for Christmas but since this issue came up, I guess she will have to come home before Christmas then. 

“Be good! I have to be busy now so I can make it to come back, tomorrow. I will take the night flight!” She said and I smiled. 

“Okay then! Bye for now!” I replied excitedly and she hanged up.

I love my sister so much! Only her voice of assurance, calmed me down. 

How much would dad owe that he can not pay back so quick? 

I looked at my phone and noticed the time. Damn it! I have been asleep for over three hours. I guess I sobbed myself to sleep. 

“You caused all this, you made me become this and now what right do you have to tell me such nonsense. How dare you? I hope you love this now? Our kids, now have to be included.” I heard Dad yell. It sounded like an arguement but could it be because of me?

What is going on out there? 

I wished to know what was really going on. I stood up from my bed leaving my phone behind, used my left feet to bring my slippers closer and then, walked up to my door, while i gently opened it so it will not make a noise, to my surprise just when I want to walk out, Dad walked out of their room as well and had just got a glance of me. He paused and scanned me for a while before he walked pass me, avoiding eyes contact. 

I hope mum is okay! He looked angry! His face was red, and that's not good. 

I waited for a while to ensure he was downstairs, then I walked up to their room and without knocking, I opened the door. Mum noticed my presence and hid her face. I walked even more closer and furrowed my brows. Did he hit her? Her face looked red too! 

“Mum!” I called out to her even if I was just 10 inches away. She seemed lost in thought of what to lie, I guess. 

She turned to face me and her eyes looked bruised. 

“Was it dad's doings?” I asked and she looked away. She knew exactly what I asked even without pointing or explaining any further. 

“It was not his fault. It was a mistake and he was sorry! You know your dad would never hit me, right?” Mum said as she held on to my hands real tight. 

And yeah, to be honest, I have not seen them fight or exchange any form of unpleasant words. Infact, I prayed to have a perfect marriage like theirs but right now, I do not have a mind to think with anymore. I am in total stunned mood. 

Could it be, she is covering up for dad? 

“I really do not understand the two of you! Seriously, I wished I followed elder sis to London. I really can not understand the sudden attitudes.” I moved away from her and sat on the couch, “I really do not mind listening.” I added, just in case she wanted to air her thoughts. 

“Seriously, it is nothing!” Mum reassured with a fake smile and I frowned.  

I am tired of all this! Oh lord, help me!

I got up from the couch and started to walk out of the room and then, mum spoke, “Do not blame your dad, he is going through a lot right now, give him time.” Mum said and I rolled my eyes. 

So unexpected! I didn't know if I were to respond or just nod. Why are they acting so strange? Is mum really the cause? Everything does not make sense, I need a good explanation and not some dramas. I nodded and walked out, gently shutting the door behind.
