ESMERAY

As we walked out of the royal main gate of the palace, I became lost in thought. My mind was racing, and I was second-guessing my actions just now. Did I overreact back there with Caesar?

"Esmeray, get on the horse. Let's go!" Kitana's chirping voice snapped me back into reality.

The two of us had grown close during these past few months, and yes, she now called me by my name instead of "princess." It made things more casual between us.

I smiled back at her, and suddenly, an idea struck me. It was the right season, and I knew of a nearby hot spring I would love to take her to.

"You know what? I have an idea," I raised an eyebrow.

"An idea? What, you don't want to ride into the woods anymore?"

"Not into the woods. I know somewhere better where we could cool our heads," I smiled.

"Correction, your head, Esmeray," she chuckled.
