Chapter 35

I wake up with a sore neck and a small weight on my chest, Porsha. The unfamiliar surrounding confuses me at first, soon being replaced with realization.

I check the time, 10:30. Not bad.

I stroll into the kitchen, humming to a song. I wonder what time Daniel’s game is today.

I turn my music on, careful that it isn’t too loud.

‘You say you can’t live without me

So why aren’t you dead yet,

Why you still breathing?’

Madison’s voice sings as my eggs cook. I swing my hips along to the beat, embracing the effect music has on me.

“Are you trying to kill me?” Daniel’s raspy morning voice sounds behind me.

I laugh, hugging him. “Good morning, how’s your sleep?” I place a quick kiss on his cheek, flipping the eggs.

“I slept good. How did you sleep?” He smiles, leaning against the counter next to me.

“It was okay. Do you want some?” I say, he nods.

“Thank you” He says when I hand him my original plate.

“What time is the game?” I ask, smiling over at him.

“One. These are really good
