When I left the restaurant, I looked up to at least stop my tears. I may not have loved Tristan as much as he says, but he has become an important person.

In the six years I was with him, I trusted him completely. I even considered marrying him because I knew at some point he had a special place in my heart.

Why do they always do this to me?

I kept thinking that maybe what my parents had told me back then was right—that no one would ever love or appreciate me because I am worthless.

“We need to talk.”

Before I could see who pulled me, in an instant he put me in the car. When I looked at the man hurrying to walk to the driver's seat, my forehead furrowed.

The moment I recovered from the shock, I was about to get out, but he suddenly locked the door.

“Fasten your seatbelt,” he ordered.

“What do you need?”

Instead of answering my question, he put my seatbelt on and quickly started the car.
