EMELIA'S POV

“Arrghh,” May flinched away from my side, almost rolling off the bed.“What are you doing?”

“I don't know.”

“What do you mean you don't know when you keep staring like that? Do you want to kill me?” She teased.

“I'm sorry, just had a lot of things on my mind,” I explained.

“Do you even get a single sleep? Is it because of the rumors?” May asked, and I turned my gaze away from the ceiling to face her.

“No, it's something else,” I replied, but she gave me a mean look, expecting me to spill it out. “I had a little make-out with him yesterday.”

“What! How could you do that? Have you forgiven him already, and what about Maverick?” May's tone was filled with disbelief.

“Of course, I haven't forgiven him. It was just a mistake, which I later regretted and stopped.”

“So now you can't stop imagining what happened between the two?” May asked, her arms crossed, waiting for my reply.

I let out a soft chuckle as I turned away from her, facing the ceiling. “Why would I think about that?
