CASSIUS'S POV

"What the fuck are you talking about? Why did you release her?"

"I'm very sorry, sir, but we had no evidence against her. Miss May claimed they gave it to her for a review, and Miss Emelia claimed that it’s stolen from her. The worst part is Jamez Walter said he only wanted to have the plagiarist arrested. I'm afraid your wife might be arrested very soon, sir."

"What the fuck…" I massaged my temples as my own plan backfired. Emelia must have had everything thoroughly planned out.

"Sir, what do we do?"

I ended the call immediately, not even bothering to reply to him as he got no use for me again. I stood up from the cushion and walked to the beer parlor to pour a drink.

"Sit, allow me," one of the maids attempted to help me with it.

"Don't bother."
