The first day of work

She had initially intended to lash out at him and reprimand him for being rude but recalling where she was and why she was there, she changed her move. Standing before the man, " I am sorry, sir. You see, I am new here. I didn't know that the space was private. I thought it was for everyone. I am sorry."

Alexander had an opportunity to look at the girl who was now apologizing. It was then that he realized how young she looked. She was probably 17 or 18 years old. What was such a young girl doing in his company's parking lot?

"What is a little girl like you doing here? Do you have a driving license? Shouldn't you be in school?" he asked as he lowered his voice. This girl looked like she was the same age as his youngest sister. He couldn't help but soften his tone.

She removed the badge given to her two days ago by Nancy and gave it to him. Alexander looked at the badge and almost dropped it out of shock. This little girl was his new secretary? What was Nancy thinking employing such a young girl? Is she even qualified to do the job? He looked up at the girl one more.

"How old are you again? How did you by any chance get the job as my secretary? ". Lee fought hard to hide the smirk that was materializing on her lips. " Uum, I am 18 years old, sir. I am sure that I have more than enough qualifications to be your secretary, sir. Otherwise, I would not be here."

Alexander was left speechless for a moment. She was too young, but her confidence was gold. Her words made sense. She would never be there if she didn't have the right qualifications. His curiosity was piqued once more. He couldn't wait to reach his office where he would have the chance to see her details.

Their conversation was interrupted by the ringing of Alex's phone. His face became emotionless as he listened to the person on the other end of the phone. He hanged up after a few minutes and looked at the girl who stood before him. He smirked.

"Since you are my secretary, let's go. There will be a meeting in thirty minutes. You will have to attend it with me as my secretary. " of course it was not planned before the actual meeting. He was curious to see how she does her work. Let's see if you can impress me even before I check your CV, He thought.

Lee looked at the man who was smirking at her and internally chuckled. How childish. Let's see if you can handle my brains: She thought as she nodded to acknowledge what he just ordered. The two walked away from the parking lot towards the main building.

The car that she had parked in his private place was left forgotten as they walked together into the skyscraper. The office had forty-eight floors. The C.E.O's office was, of course, located on the topmost floor. As they walked into the elevator, everyone's eyes fell on them. They were already familiar with the majesty of their C.E.O, but he was ever alone. Who was the woman with him? They wandered.

The elevator ride was comfortable as the two used the private elevator. The ping sound from the elevator indicated that they have arrived. Alexander led the way as he walked towards his office. Outside his door was the secretary's desk.

He left Lee to settle at her desk as he went into his own office. Thirty minutes went by really fast. By the time Alex left his office, Lee's desk was already well organized. She had a notebook in her hand and a pen as she stood waiting for Mr. C.E.O. He was surprised, to say the least, as his eyes briefly swept over the now neatly arranged desk. He stopped before her and gestured with his head to indicate that they should head out.

He walked with long strides leaving her behind. She was soon walking side by side with him. Albeit being new to the place and needing a tour, she had to stay alert and keen. She opened the board room wide open for the man to enter even before he could ask. Her action surprised him once more, but he kept it well hidden.

The moment the two walked into the board room, all eyes fell on the girl who was walking side by side with the C.E.O. " Who is the gorgeous doll by your side, bro?" whispered a blond olive-skinned handsome man. Alexander ignored his best friend, who also happened to be his Chief Financial officer.

He sat on the most prominent chair with his C.F.O Alvin to his right and his secretary to the left. The meeting started, and lee was busy making notes from time to time. Since it was a board meeting, the members aired their issues and gave a possible solution. Some gave suggestions on changing the structure of the company.

By the time the meeting was adjourned, two hours have passed by quite fast. The members started leaving one by one until only five people remained in the board room. Alex stood ready to depart when he was held back by Maximillian, one of the small investors in his company. He looked back at the man.

When he called Alex, Lee also looked up at the man, who appeared to be in his fifties and the slender blonde. The girl was standing behind him shyly. Before she could access the situation more, however, her hand was gently pulled by Alvin towards the other side of the room.

" Baby girl, are you by any chance my freaky friend's secretary? Girl! What is an angel like you doing working for the king of Devils?" he asked one question after another. Lee couldn't control her laughter. The sweet melody of her laughter echoed in the room, garnering the attention of the three people who were talking on the other side.

Alex's heart rate responded to the laughter that resonated in the room. Wow! she has a peal of beautiful laughter that was contagious, he thought as he fought the smile that threatened to take root on his lips. There was someone whose eyes were observing him keenly, and the subtle smile he spotted did not go unnoticed by her.

Maya clenched her fists as she glared at the girl who was busy chatting with the other man in the room. Alex's curiosity was piqued as he watched his best friend and " Excuse me, Max, I have something urgent to discuss with my secretary and friend. He left after uttering those words without looking back at them or waiting for a reply.
