Alpha Jeremiah's POV

The road to the school felt a mile longer than it should, all churned up with floodwater and potholes that threatened to swallow the jeep whole. But I finally saw it, the dark, approaching shape of the school, and I slammed on the brakes.

Before I even killed the engine, I saw a duffel bag in the back seat. Not mine. I reached back, grabbed it, and dug around. Found one of my old jackets. Soaked through already, but it was better than nothing. I pulled it on over my drenched shirt, trying to ward off the bone-chilling cold.

I looked out at the school, the massive gates were wide open. The windows were dark, shattered by the wind, with rain lapping against the doors. I couldn't remember the last time I had even been to this place. It seemed like a lifetime ago, when Jacob was just a kid, trying to fit in.

I killed the engine, the sudden silence only amplifying the rumble of the rain. I jumped out, the floodwater h

Then, it all came spilling out. “I…I didn’t want to worry you. Or Mom. You have got enough with the pack…” His voice cracked, and he rubbed his arms like he was trying to scrub away the cold, or maybe the shame. “But after you saved me…after I thought I was going to drown in there, alone…I can’t keep it bottled up anymore. It feels like it’s killing me anyway.” I sighed and pulled over close to the pack border. Killed the engine. Turned to face him. “Keep what bottled up?” I asked, my voice soft, trying not to scare him. Jacob took a ragged breath, his eyes glassy with unshed tears. “I have been getting bullied, Dad. For years.” My blood ran cold. Bullied? My son? Bullied? “Since the heart thing as a kid. They called me ‘beep boy’ and said I was weak and should just die already. I thought it would stop when I got older, bu

╭──────༺♡༻──────╮ Alpha Dominic's POV ╰──────༺♡༻──────╯ ⛧☾༺♰༻☽⛧ The jeep rocked through the flood like a drunk beast, its tires half-submerged, the engine roaring against the relentless pull of the current. The rain increased, drumming on the roof like gunfire, each jolt sending ice-cold water splashing over the sides. I sat crammed in the back seat, Anna plastered to my left, Rose shivering against my right. They were trembling like leaves in the wind. Flynn was actually dozing off, slumped next to the driver. How he could sleep through this chaos was beyond me. My arms were wrapped tight around my girls, trying to pour whatever warmth I had left into them, but the cold had seeped into my bones hours ago. It was useless. In the lead jeep, Maxwell had taken over now, he was driving like a man possessed, one hand on the steering wheel, the other swatting at desperate fingers clawing at the doors. Pack members trudged chest-deep beside us, their faces pale and terrified. They w

╭──────༺♡༻──────╮ Alpha Jeremiah's POV╰──────༺♡༻──────╯ ⛧☾༺♰༻☽⛧Selena was a dead weight in my arms, but Frost wouldn't let me put her down, not for a second. Water poured off her, soaking through the shirt I had just thrown on, but I didn’t give a damn. Her foot bled like a stuck pig through the makeshift bandage. Goddess, that kiss…not a kiss, more like a goddamn breath-share, but it seared my lips like a brand.Mate. Mate in danger. "She’s going to die,” Frost had screeched in my head and had taken me over. The thought of losing her…it was enough to turn me feral.Knee-deep water shook around me as I slogged toward the gates. The packhouse was behind me, half-drowned, a monument to our failure to stop the flood from coming.Headlights cut through the downpour, spotlighting the pathetic little crowd waiting for me: Brandon, Derek, looking smug as usual, Olivia, and a few piss-ant warriors. Safe and sound, for now, while my mate was nearly dead in my arms.Fucking wond

╭──────────.★..─╮ Selena's POV╰─..★.──────────╯⛧☾༺♰༻☽⛧ The sound of heavy rain woke me from my nightmare. Ever since I had moved into this packhouse, I hadn’t been sleeping worth a damn. Some nights, I didn’t sleep at all thanks to the endless nightmares. About losing it all to Alpha Dominic, no less. I had no idea when the last time I had slept properly was, but the goddamn thunderstorm outside saved me from that particular bad dream. After Brandon dropped the bomb about the contract, the insomnia had gotten worse. Grace's texts burned behind my eyelids. She hadn't stopped apologizing since that day. I should have fired her ass. For the past week, Jacob had been hellbent on making my life a living hell for no reason. Calling me his father's mistress, skipping classes, throwing tantrums. One time, he came home with a gash on his forehead and blamed it on me, saying I was abusive, just so Alpha Jeremiah would fire me. But Jeremiah hadn't believed him.And as for me and Jac

The sound, a relentless, thunderous cacophony, drowned out everything else. Until the sound of rushing water assaulted my ears. Even in my sleep, I couldn't ignore it. A drop of cold, unwelcome water landed on my face, jolting me awake.I sat up, heart pounding, the air thick with the scent of ozone and wet earth. The flood.Flynn had warned me. Ranting about some storm vision, acting like he had suddenly become a goddamn seer. I had laughed it off and told him to lay off the whiskey. Now, the water was seeping under my bedroom door, cold and merciless, turning my expensive carpet into a soggy mess."Shit," I growled, tossing aside the covers. The packhouse was flooding, and it was happening fast. Too goddamn fast. All I could hear was the river roaring outside, swollen and pissed off, like the moon goddess herself had decided
