Chapter 10: Chapter Ten: You Went to Find Ruan Ling

Lan's words made Lambert Vaughan fall into deep thought. He had more than once felt that Gloria Vaughan was not the person she appeared to be towards Samuel Vaughan.

Perhaps this car accident really did require a thorough investigation. If Gloria Vaughan dared to do anything to Samuel Vaughan, he would not let her off easily!

However, as Lambert Vaughan watched the three of them walking further away, seeing their harmonious and joyful appearance, he felt an inexplicable irritation. He hadn't expected that Phoebe Conrad was Matthew Vaughan's girlfriend, and they even had a child together. But things changed a year ago. Samuel Vaughan started talking, but only to his grandmother and him. To his own mother, Gloria Vaughan, Samuel Vaughan acted like a stranger. And now, with Phoebe Conrad's appearance, Samuel Vaughan had apologized to him for the first time and asked for his help.

Unconsciously, Lambert Vaughan had arrived at the VIP ward. Samuel Vaughan was already awake, lying weakly on the bed. Suddenly, Lambert Vaughan realized that over the past five years, he had never really known this child who shared his blood.

"Anzhi, how are you? You scared me to death. It's all my fault. I should have picked you up earlier," she said, tears streaming down her face.

"Yes, my dear grandson, you scared your grandmother too. Don't associate with Phoebe Conrad anymore."

"Phoebe and Shuang?" Samuel Vaughan, seeing Gloria Vaughan's fake tears, thought she really missed her calling as an actress.

"They've left. Don't worry, your grandmother will never let such people hurt you again." Mentioning Phoebe Conrad, Vaughan's mother felt a surge of anger. If it weren't for that woman, her beloved grandson wouldn't have been hurt.

"Yes, Anzhi, listen to your grandmother. Stay by your mother's side and don't see those two again," Gloria Vaughan quickly chimed in.

"Get out!" Samuel Vaughan's voice suddenly turned cold.

Gloria Vaughan was taken aback by Samuel Vaughan's words, unable to react.

"My dear, are you scared? Don't talk to your mother like that. Your grandmother knows you're just scared. Don't worry, I'm here," Vaughan's mother didn't realize something was wrong, thinking Samuel Vaughan was just frightened.

"Grandma, I want dumplings, especially from you," Samuel Vaughan still loved his grandmother. She was the only one in the family who truly doted on him. Once, when Samuel Vaughan mentioned wanting to eat her dumplings, Vaughan's mother, who hadn't cooked in decades, personally made him a batch.

"Alright, alright, Grandma will go home and make you some dumplings. Huanhuan, stay here with Lambert Vaughan and keep Anzhi company. I'll be back soon," she said, kissing Samuel Vaughan's forehead and leaving with her bag.

As Vaughan's mother walked away, the smile on Samuel Vaughan's face faded.

"Anzhi, are you thirsty? Let me get you some water," though Vaughan's mother was gone, Lambert Vaughan was still there, so Gloria Vaughan continued her act.

"I want Phoebe! She is my real mother!!!" Though Samuel Vaughan's voice was weak, his words were clear and heartfelt.

If not for Lambert Vaughan standing behind her, Gloria Vaughan would have lost control. She forced a smile, uglier than a cry, "Anzhi, how can you say such things? Did Phoebe Conrad teach you to say this?"

"Find Phoebe!!!"

"I hate you, get out!" Samuel Vaughan turned his head away, refusing to look at Gloria Vaughan.

"You went to find Phoebe Conrad? Even to her house?" Lambert Vaughan asked coldly.

"I'm sorry, I was just worried about Anzhi. There's a misunderstanding between Phoebe Conrad and me, and I was afraid Anzhi might develop some misconceptions if he stayed with her for too long, so..."

"Go back to the Song family for a while. I don't want to see you in the Ji family for a month," Lambert Vaughan walked forward and pulled Gloria Vaughan up from the bed.

"No, please listen to my explanation..." Gloria Vaughan was shocked that such a small incident would make Lambert Vaughan send her back to her parents' house. If this got out, she would lose face.

"What? Or do you want to stay at the Song family forever? In that case, I don't mind giving you a divorce agreement."

Gloria Vaughan looked at Lambert Vaughan in shock. She knew now was not the time to argue. If Lambert Vaughan really gave her a divorce agreement, she would be finished.
