A GLIMPSE AT THE FUTURE.

The building of royal envoy's academy was a glamour, I must say, as I admire it and that was what brought me here. As I waited for the principal at his office, which like a mini parlor with tall shelves filled with books. It's walls were painted peach, and it had an artificial flower in a vase which rested by the window. Since I was less busy, I just wanted to while away time, since it seemed he would take a while to show up, I brought out my mini jotter and ticked the number of jobs I had done so far. This was the sixth job and I have made up my mind to be a cleaner if it doesn't work or should I say if I detest it because I always had two "icons" I would say who literally works out my applications. They were my neighbors, Jessica and Mirabelle. I never knew how they perform this trick and never bothered to ask after all, when the cash comes in, I had to pay them which annoys me, but I just have to play the good girl as their junior. At last the principal arrived. I had memorized everything those two had taught me, and I was willing to nail it. I studied the old man and began to imagine if he was a king, and I was his daughter who demanded freedom. His glasses represented his crown and my file represent my scroll which had my petitions. He hummed and brought out his staff of authority, which was a stamp seal. He questioned me on my decisions and qualifications and I replied with honor, the king was impressed that his little princess indeed could rule over his kingdom now that he was old and about to die. I smiled and bow, waiting for when he would proclaim me as the ruler of the land.

"So miss Jane…you claimed you had a two-year experience as a teacher, which students exactly did you concentrate on?" His crooked voice eluded my thoughts. Wow! I was told I would be asked that. I gave a stylish laugh and tried not be anxious.

"Well, the fourth grade?" I replied rhetorically and he nodded.

"Fine then, but we only need…"

"Yes, any class available!" I interrupted quickly and from his look, he seemed confused. I just couldn't afford returning home without a job.

"Well welcome aboard!" He exclaimed and slipped my file in his drawer close by. With a wry smile, I stood up and thanked him. I was to return the next day. I felt like screaming for joy, or let me say pain. Teaching was the worst job ever for me. It was my second list after detective. I wondered why I hated working, but I just had to right, this is the 21st century, and we've got to struggle to survive but to me, this wasn't what I wanted. As I cat walked, I came across a grocery shop and I hopped in. I was going to sponsor today's meal with those horrible neighbors because I got the job. They more like agents fixing people with works and having their share. What if I actually join them? I could just quit working under someone. When would I ever be a boss on my own? I glanced at every item to see if my money could buy what I wanted. As l walked through the rows, I was too busy looking for what I could afford, and I bumped into someone or should I say bumped into me. I mused and tried to ascertain who it was, but he was swift, and it was like though he vanished.

"Some kind of people are manner less" I snapped and furthered. When I was done, I went to the counter to calculate my pay, but I stood in a queue, although I was third in line. I suddenly became mute when I saw someone smile, it looked familiar, but I couldn't see him clearly because he was the first and already done. I wanted to get a glimpse of who he was, but I just couldn't leave the queue. I tried to peep through the line, but he had already gone. I felt sad though but I just had to forget about it after all, the person who claims was my hero was unknown through facial contact. Anyone could possibly smile like that. I placed my goods on the counter and I suddenly shuddered. I could feel that this building was about to collapse. I shook my head and figured out I was still at the same spot. What would I do? If I told everyone to leave then, I would be called a psycho. I guess my imaginations were getting a better of me. I paid the cash and walked away. I wanted to avoid following my thoughts and cause chaos again. Reaching home, my neighbors await me. It was like though they were plotting an attack or better still trying to kidnap me. I pictured myself holding treasures and these villains demanding that I give it to them, but the life of the people depended on the magical treasures and I needed to save the kingdom and its people. With a stern look and brave heart, I refused and bounced through their midst and as I was about to cross over the gates, two hands dragged me back, and I cursed. This villains won't let me be.

"Sweetie, why the angry face?" Jessica questioned with a sober tone. Could she just stop acting like though she cared?

"Yes, darling, did something go wrong?" Mirabelle interjected and I shook my head.

"Could we go inside first?" I petitioned.

"Yes!" They chorused excitedly. I wonder how their spouse cope with them. I would never be a housewife, I'd rather stay single. Furthermore, I hated anything home or staying idle. These, who made me sit in the middle and began to interrogate me. How did we ever become friends? It all began when I newly moved in. I was hostile to everyone except Jessica, who helped me adapt to my new home. She was indeed friends to all and enemy to none. To worsen it, she was my next door neighbor, and she said I reminded her of her favorite model. For mirabelle, she was her bestie and Jessica introduced me as her supposed friend to Mirabelle and a bitter-sweet triangle was formed.
