He watched her. His eyes gazed intensively through her. He never failed to have what he longed for and Josette was just another easy prey to feed on. She handed the documents as soon as she was done signing. He smiled in a way that his lips didn't twitch but his eyes showed it. He took it from her.

" Just as I have summarized my terms and conditions, you can as well do the same."

" I'm certain there is more to what you've told me but I feel like what you said is more important." She crossed her hand. Her eyes reflected something he was familiar with— fear and confusion.

" You don't get to boss me around. As long as we are married publicly, it doesn't mean we are privately. So there shouldn't be any romantic or emotional involvement in this as it is strictly business."

" Oh yes! I forgot to mention that too. It's part of my condition."

" So I'm guessing you're the kind of guy that doesn't do or believe in love."

His feral gaze did the usual goosebumps thingy on her skin. She folded her arms, biting her lips with utmost regret. Though, her mind was more concerned on how she would get over seven million dollars to pay those abductors. And as for the fake loan her mother signed her up for, she wasn't paying a dime for that.

" Certainly. I do believe in love and I have done love before, just once. It was good but short-lived." His side lip twitched into a small smile. " It's like they always say. Nothing good lasts forever."

And the ring of her phone was enough to snap her out of her thoughts and disrupt Zade from speaking. She dashed across the room to take her phone. She knew who it was even before she saw the caller. She followed her instincts and moved out of the living room and went into the kitchen.

" What have you decided on, Miss Montgomery?"

She sighed from her mouth. Her hand trembled. She had signed the contract and it was more to her advantage than staying alone in this. What they asked of her was something she had done. She had more blood in her hands than anyone knew, Benson included.

" I would do it. But you don't hurt her. Take care of her and I'll do everything you asked me to."

There was a small silence and a dark chuckle breaking the silence.

" You have fourteen days to get the job done and within those days, I demand the money is ready."

" I would send you everything—" She was saying until he distracted her.

" Splendid. Every detail would be sent to you in no time."

She wanted to speak again but the call ended. When she returned back to the living room, Zade was gone but he hadn't forgotten to leave behind his usual gift for her— a black rose. Josette took the rose and slowly brought it close to her nose, perceiving the fresh fragrance of his cologne that tainted it.

" He is here sir." A female voice spoke and the sound of the newspaper flipping onto one another resonated. There was a heavy smell of cigar and the myriad smoke clouding the atmosphere. " Bring him in." A calmly bold voice replied.

The female assistant left and returned afterwards with a young man who didn't hesitate to take his seat across from this old man. They were seated in the VIP section of the richest clubhouse in BlackBeth— CLASSIC SIN.

The young man peered down at the play cards on the table, aside from these cards also stood a board chess. Used cigarettes and new notes of dollars were also left carelessly unkept. The only thing this young man reached was the bottle of champagne beside the old man.

" Rough day, eh?" His bold voice said as he closed the newspaper and took out the stick of the cigar out of his mouth.

" Everyday is rather a rough day. Just hoping for a good moment tonight, Mr Parker."

" How did it go?" Mr Parker, the old man asked. His eyes gazed at the young man across from him.

" She signed the damn contract." Zade spoke, taking a shot from the champagne.

" You got what you wanted already, Parker. My part of the deal is done."

Mr Parker chuckled, returning the cigar to his mouth and leaning against his seat whilst crossing one leg over the other.

" I am a man of my word, Zade. My part of the deal is guaranteed. No need to worry."

" Certainly. Although, I'd like to know something, Mr Parker."

A woman came over carrying a tray of six glasses of red wine. She walked around the room with nothing but mere lingerie that did no justice in exposing her most sensitive areas. She got to their table and dropped two drinks. Mr Parker looked up at her.

" Available for tonight? For a prude?" The woman sheepishly nodded her head. Her smile seemed forced as she stood there— waiting.

" How much?"

" Depends. Who is the taker and for how many hours long?"

" Well..." Mr Parker drank one of the drinks— emptying the content. " Six hours, at most."

The woman blushed, flickering her eyelashes.

" I don't do more than five hours. I have to attend to other customers. But, If you insist on keeping at six hours, the pay will have to be doubled."

Zade whose eyes were focused elsewhere suddenly locked gaze on Mr Parker who pulled a grin. His brows rose for a moment before he spoke.

" Enjoy your night, Zade. Enough of business deals here and there. Take a break and have fun, I'll be here waiting after six hours."

Zade frowned, simply uninterested. " I'll pass."

Mr Parker opened his newspaper. " Our deal isn't over, remember?"

" My part of the deal is." Zade took the drink and let it down his throat in one go.

" It was." Mr Parker stated, strictly.

There was a brief silence and Zade's anguish clenching and unclenching of his fist didn't go unnoticed.

" Well, on second thought—"

He said and eventually stood up and without sparing a glance at his mistress for tonight, he walked away while she trailed behind him.

The morning was almost here. Zade was still sitting in Jane's room, his head over the couch, his drowsy eyes were on the playing video from his laptop. When he looked at Jane, she was asleep already. Zade stood, closing the laptop, one glance at his wristwatch and he sighed. He made sure to head off but also made sure to draw the duvet over Jane's body. Her blood dried on her hands, reaching her face. The sewing thread and needles still ripped her fingers, Zade exhaled shakily before heading outside.Almost getting to the meeting room, he heard furious talks coming from there but the moment he went in, everyone stopped talking. " I am sorry for arriving this late."" Fuck your ass, Zade. Seriously? Twenty damn minutes. Where the hell were you?"Bryan retorted. " Busy."Zade walked to his seat, he looked over at Caden who sat across from him then back at the video call. It was just Rebekah and Bryan." So, how'd it go?"Bryan asked." We got the weapon. He handed it so easily to us..

When she confirmed he was gone, she hopped out of the bathroom and went to return the shampoo where she had taken it from. There were goosebumps all over her body and she wasn't sure if it was because he had touched her or because she had reacted in a way neither of them expected. His hands on her skin didn't feel the same, it felt bizarre— colder, more fierce that it made her unsettled in a way. She went to her closet, longing for something comforting to wear for the night but by the time she opened it, something fell off. It was a blue rose, she picked it up, glanced back inside her closet and saw two others sitting there. There was a note— it piqued her curiosity as she took it out and read the piece. [For the daughters we both lost.]And her breath felt short. Tears came into her irises. She remembered Sophia and it wasn't like she ever forgot her daughter... it was just that she had been so occupied with her feelings that she gave less attention to her. And she regretted it

One glance and all she saw was blur. One movement and all she felt was ache but regardless, she moved, sitting on the couch she had fallen asleep on and cleaning her eyes to adjust her sight. There were two figures sitting across her. She couldn't recognize them at first but after numerous blinks, she got them. Her drowsy eyes moved from them and looked around. The light didn't flicker anymore and there were no strange noises that could make her puke. She redirected her gaze back to them, rubbing her hands together to warm herself." Feeling cold, honey?"She looked at the lady— fresh milky skin with long beautiful lashes. Even her brows were beautifully styled in an upward manner. She had plum lips— a black lipstick on. Her hair dyed black with the tip being gray. Looking at the lady seated on Don Junior's legs, it felt as though she was staring at her mirror reflection— but a more matured, more beautiful and sexy version." I'm fine!"She spoke back, pushing off the tears that th

Don Junior went to stand behind her, leaning just close to her earlobe while the placement of his hands went behind his back. Josette weakened, she struggled to move but her entire bones seemed paralyzed. It was strange though as she could clearly process everything the Don spoke, strengthening her anxiety." Do you ever wonder why he never says those words you've been dying to hear? why he never fights for you?" His voice was calm— it was low and he spoke in longer breaths." He sees her in you, Josette and you know that but he made you believe a different version that he wanted you to believe."He left her, walking far from where she sat. A mutter left her mouth." If you think he loves you, why has he handed you so easily to me? All for what? A weapon? You're worthless to him, darling."The light flickered, a strange subtle daunting noise played... but then it stopped." Josette."She panted. Her face was covered in sweat. Her gaze went to him. He now stood at her front, kneeling.

The dress was too perfect. Despite her small curves, she still looked really beautiful in it. The dress was a gold sequence— seamlessly flowing down to her legs while it had a long slit up to her thigh and black heels that complimented her fashion. A maid had just finished making her hair— adding adornments. When she finished dressing, she went down, the brothers were already there. Zade was dressed in his favourite corset vest and brocade suit with glittering shoes and Caden wore nothing more than an office suit— with the way he was looking, anyone could tell he hated what he wore." Thought you already ran away, hiding."Caden spoke when he saw her, adjusting his tie. " I'm sorry, I didn't know I took so long."Their mini discussion caught Zade's attention. He looked up at her, there was a subtle look of admiration on his face. " Are you ready?"He asked instead and cleared his throat afterwards. She nodded her head even though her spirit yearned to turn away from their little m

He never intended to get more roses, the feel of having to hold it made him quiver a little. Selena loves roses. Josette loved roses. Those two seemed more alike than anyone could even imagine. He drove off and got out of the car when he arrived at the mansion. The light inside reflected, bright enough to convince an outsider that this was a happy home but Zade didn't see his family that way." Psychopathic weirdos."He muttered and headed inside. It was already getting late— about seven o'clock pm and with every strike from the clock, Zade realized how close Josette's birthday was. In less than five days. He wore a frown, attempting to stride up the stairs to meet his wife but he stopped when he came across her figure, she was heading outside and she hadn't taken notice of him. Zade followed her calmly, sighting her fragile figure looking up at the sky." Cold night." His voice bolted her. She looked at him, crossing her arms nervously. " No. It's actually warm."She returned
