Kai's pov,

“Well? Why aren't you talking again? Why did you stop talking? Stop wasting my time. I only agreed to listen to you talk to me because I am trying to remain positive and forget about the resentment which I have against you”. Adira said to me, and I could see clearly that she was telling the truth because of the impatient look on her face, which made it look like she could not stand my presence or the sight of me.

I feared that she was going to leave any second from now, and that I was not going to get any other chance like this to make her listen to me, making me clear my throat as I began to do something I think I had never done in my life before, except to Adira. That was admitting to someone that I was wrong, and apologizing to them, and asking for their forgiveness.

“I am sorry, Adira. Our parents are equally sorry, and regret deeply that we did not believe you when you needed us the most”.

“Ha. Kai, do you know what? I am quite glad that you realized that you and yo

Valentina's pov, I checked the time some minutes ago. It was 6pm, but the sky had darkened greatly. Usually, by this time of the day, the sky used to be blue, but faded blue. Though there was a reason why the sky had darkened like this. It was because of the rain which had gathered in the clouds. Although the rain had yet to start falling, I knew that it would fall. After all, the reason why all the windows of my car were tightly shut was because of the threatening dusty breeze, which I knew would be accompanied later by the rain. My car drove inside the mansion the second after the security guy stationed at the gates opened them for me. Actually, before I was allowed to drive my car into the mansion, the security guy flashed a torchlight at my car and asked who it was. I answered him, and hearing my voice, that was when he came out of the mansion to look at my face properly. It was after he saw my face that he immediately allowed me to drive my car inside the mansion. He must

  • Heart of a Betrayed Wife   Chapter 73) Speak, brother. I am listening.

Once I stepped foot on the first floor of the hospital, I almost fell on the floor with Joseph because my hands were giving up rapidly. If not for the young security guard who came to my aid and took Joseph from my arms, I really might have fallen to the floor with Joseph and embarrassed both of us in the presence of everyone. “No. Please, it's that way”. I pointed my finger in a particular direction as I said to the security guard and stopped him, after I saw that he was taking Joseph with him to a different ward. I wanted him to take Joseph to the floor where Aunt Becky was. And was it weird that I wanted Franklin to be the doctor who treated Joseph? That must be because I was familiar with him, compared to a different doctor. The security guard hesitated, so I went ahead of him and led the way, and he followed me. I was right. He was unsure of the place I wanted him to take Joseph to. We arrived at the expected hospital floor, and Joseph was taken to a ward that was next to

Adira's pov, After parking my car in the hospital's parking lot, I got out of the car and went to the back seat of the car. I opened the back seat door, before I proceeded and carried Joseph from the seat and into my slim arms. It was a big struggle, mostly because my legs were shaking. I don't think I can take this any longer. Out of my family, I was the one born with the weakest constitution. Could you believe me if I told you that my mother was stronger than me when it came to having strength? She was years older than me, but was clearly stronger than me. Can you believe that? What was my own superpower? I guess my own superpower was endurance, until I could not endure it anymore. Just like now. I was extremely exhausted, and I feared that if I eventually fell on the floor, I would probably sleep off. I closed the back seat door after carrying Joseph, and was heading into the hospital when… “I- I am sorry, cousin Adira. I really did not mean to fall sick and t

When I went into the motel room, Stefan and Philip followed me inside. They didn't even allow me to go into the bathroom, and they demanded that I give them the 200 thousand dollars that I had promised to give them. But what time did I promise to give them 200 thousand dollars? Wasn't it Philip who forced my hands? I sent the money to them, and sent Stefan additional money because he was the one who paid for the motel room. Seeing the proud look on their faces after receiving the money, I rolled my eyes at them. Then, Stefan offered to buy me some clothes, and he left the room before I could say anything to him. I was surprised. He was stingy. The same as Philip. So it was rare to hear him or to see him getting something for me. Back to the present. I had finished bathing, and had worn the dress that Stefan bought for me. It was a long combined color dress. Pink and white. The dress did not have much design on it, but it had pink lace at the bottom, and bro

Valentina's pov, I sighed in relief as I stared at my reflection in the bathroom's wall mirror. After taking my bath, my body felt refreshed, and my mood became much better than before. Earlier, after Felix's body was reduced to ashes, Philip left the remaining job for Stefan to do. So, Stefan packed the ashes inside a black plastic bag that he happened to find lying on the ground. In the process of finding a more suitable place to dispose of the ashes, Stefan discovered that there was a cliff nearby, so he went ahead and scattered the ashes down the cliff. I was there, and I saw how the ashes fell from the high cliff, down to the ground, like snow. 'You deserve death, Felix. That's why I don't feel sorry for you. My only regret is that you made me become a murderer'. I thought to myself as I glared at his ashes as they rained to the ground. With Felix's remains properly disposed of, I asked help from Stefan and Philip. I told them to help get water and new clot
