She rolled her eyes in mock annoyance. She wasn't used to being cared for yet. I’d make sure she knew what that felt like before she left us. I cleared my throat.

“Boys told me you didn't take a plate and don't forget Moonbeam, I can smell your tears,” I said, turning her face to mine. Her lashes blinked and she swallowed hard before sad green eyes met mine.

“Eat Ma Sha, then ya can tell me what this is all about,” I said, scooping up some egg and putting it in her mouth. She let out an irritable breath, before wrapping her pouty lips around the morsel in compliance, when I pulled away she scooped up more but offered it to me. I chuckled and dove in for it.

We fed each other in companionable silence, Boo scourging for any morsels that fell from our forks.

I'm so glad we finally get to meet Landry and his wife. It's good that they came to warn them about possible witnesses to the curse breaking. Excited to see how this visit plays out!!!
