“Absolutely not!”

Coach stood in front of them with his arms folded tightly across his chest while Lukas and Viktor stood side by side in full gear pretending to look innocent. Unfortunately, none of them ever looked innocent…not ever a day in their lives.

“I mean it,” the coach continued sharply, eyes moving between them. “No bullshit today.”

Viktor blinked, a smile slipping beneath.

“What bullshit?”

Coach stared at him blankly. “The relationship bullshit.”

That immediately made Viktor cough t

His breathing broke apart violently.“No—”“Hey—hey hey—” Viktor sat up instantly despite the pain shooting through his ankle aggressively.“Lukas what happened?!”Lukas stared at him like he’d seen a ghost and rain hammered against the apartment windows now. Louder and more violent. The same kind of rain from the dream…from back then when he left.“You—” His voice cracked harshly.“You kissed me.”Viktor froze completely as the silence swallowed the room whole. Then slowly he tilted his head,“…what?”Lukas looked sick to the stomach…actually sick like something rotten had finally clawed its way back to the light after years buried deep enough to survive.“You kissed me,” he whispered again, eyes wide and shaken. “When we were just kids.”Viktor’s expression shifted instantly not from confusion but recognition. It was small at first. Then it was horrible.“Oh.”The sound left him quietly before he could stop it and Lukas noticed immediately and his entire face twisted. with disgust.

The rain had started, drizzling softly against the window as Elias and Nikola locked eyes…not looking away…like even a slight glance away would destroy them both. Elias laughed quietly under his breath, the sound softer this time and Nikola realized something that scared the hell out of him immediately…he liked hearing it. And it wasn't because it was loud or pretty or attention-grabbing…it wasn't anyway…but because it felt calm and easy. Almost like sitting somewhere you're accepted after staying in the cold for too long and honestly? That terrified him more than flirting with the emotionally unavailable hockey captains ever did. You’re thinking too hard again,” Elias murmured, his eyes memorizing every inch of Nikola. His bright confident eyes, his perfect teeth and silky hair and the slight accent he had when he pronounced certain words…it all drew him in more.Nikola blinked. “How do you know that?”“You squeeze your brows like this” he imitated then continued, "and you get this w

The grocery cart wheel squeaked violently every few seconds and Lukas looked like he was one inconvenience away from murdering everyone around him personally.“This thing is fighting with me,” he muttered angrily.“It’s literally just a wheel.” Viktor laughed.“It has an attitude.”Viktor laughed under his breath as he leaned lazily against the cart, one hand resting near the handle while Lukas pushed it through another aisle looking deeply offended by his own existence and honestly, they looked ridiculous together.Lukas in his oversized black hoodie, was glaring at cereal boxes like they personally wronged him while Viktor kept tossing unnecessary snacks into the cart every time Lukas looked away for too long but he always caught him.“You don’t need those.”“I do too.”“You said the same thing about six different chocolates.”“It’s because I’m mentally ill.” Viktor's eyes glowed like a puppy's.“That’s actually quite believable.”Viktor gasped dramatically. “Wow. Abuse.”Lukas igno

Viktor woke up to warmth and a smile slid down his red cheeks. It was not just physically warm…his entire body felt heavy as he melted into the mattress because of only what happened after exhaustion and Lukas of course. His legs ached faintly, bite marks burned across his skin and somewhere beneath the blanket his ankle throbbed enough to remind him the injury still existed. For a while, he just lay there staring blankly at the ceiling, half-asleep while the memories of last night replayed in flashes. Lukas’s voice, Lukas’s touch, the way his eyebrows furrowed…like he was being completely ruined by Viktor beneath him, his soft moans…everything and it made Viktor giggle and swing his legs into the pillow. Then slowly, he turned his head and froze at the unworldly sight. Lukas stood in the kitchen shirtless, his pants literally dripping down his waist as his V–line was exposed.God.Morning light slowly spilled through the apartment windows in gold, catching against the sharp definitio

Viktor’s breath shook slightly as he looked down between them…then back up at the towering Lukas and Lukas stood over him with dark eyes and messy hair, chest rising slowly beneath the dim apartment light while rain had started to fall harder against the windows outside. Something about him looked dangerous tonight…less controlled somehow and Viktor loved every bit of it. “Suck it.” Lukas whipped it out and his eyes glowed from above. Something in Viktor snapped because compared to last time, he had grown bigger. He swallowed hard before leaning down anyway to try but the second he tried, Lukas inhaled sharply through his teeth.“…Jesus Christ.”Viktor looked up immediately, cheeks already red and his eyes already watering. Lukas stared down at him like he was losing his mind.“You’re so terrible at this,” he muttered, voice rougher now. “It’s so fucking hot.”Viktor made a wounded sound in the back of his throat. “I’m trying! You're just big—”Lukas’s hand slid into his hair instant

  • Hearts on Ice   Chapter 47: The Heat.

Lukas woke up slowly to warmth as it covered him whole and it felt different…not the sharp hospital warmth he’d gotten used to recently or the uncomfortable half-sleep he’d been surviving on for weeks. This felt different and real and he felt soft breathing against him. He felt something close to his chest and he didn't want to move.Everything was already dark. The room, outside, the sky...everything except for the evening glow sliding in weakly through the curtains. Outside the room, the wind blew calmly against the windows and somewhere farther away, a car honked and its sound echoed through the room before fading away again. His neck hurt but his back hurt worse and then suddenly, the memory returned slowly. He was studying…Viktor was complaining about formulas, Sam screaming over flashcards and Lydia threatening to burn the entire education system down but now it was just silence.Lukas blinked heavily and looked around and the table in front of him was still a disaster.
