Gina’s POV.

I sat on the edge of Damon’s couch, staring at the same wall I had been staring at for the past ten minutes. My thoughts were scattered, my fingers clutching the hem of my dress like it was the only thing holding me together. I knew I couldn’t be in two places at once, but that didn’t stop the guilt from spreading like a slow burn inside me.

Damon had said the event tonight was important.

He hadn’t gone into detail, but I could tell from the way he looked at me before he left earlier, it mattered to him. But Richard… Richard had mentioned his family would be there, that he wanted me to finally meet them. I didn’t know what that meant, not exactly, but it felt like a step. A serious one. And that scared me, if I was being honest. It scared me more than it should have.

My chest felt heavy with the weight of it all. Damon or Richard? An event or a family introduction? One was official and grand. The other was personal, possibly life-altering.

I let out a breath and sto

Clarence’s POV.The courtroom was quiet except for the voice of the judge echoing through the large space. My heart was pounding, but I held my chin high, hands folded in my lap, trying to appear composed. As the judge read out the day's judgment, siding once again with my legal team, I felt a wave of relief wash over me. It was subtle, but real.We had been fighting for this for two exhausting months. This was our fourth hearing, and every single one had leaned in my favor. Piece by piece, the truth was coming out—how my mother’s company had been snatched from me by a web of manipulation, lies, and carefully signed papers I had never been meant to understand. But now, finally, it was all unfolding in public.I glanced to my right and caught the expression on my stepmother’s face. She looked like she wanted to throw something across the room. Her lips were pressed into a line, her arms crossed like she was holding herself together by force. Beside her, my half-sister looked just as so

Clarence’s POV.I left work earlier than usual. My head wasn’t really in it anyway, and when my phone rang and I saw it was my mother’s lawyer, I didn’t hesitate to answer the phone. He asked if we could meet later that afternoon, saying there were updates, important ones and I could hear it in his voice that it wasn’t something he wanted to explain over the phone.I packed up quietly, not bothering to tell anyone I was heading out. I didn’t even glance at Julian’s office as I walked past it. I was almost at the company’s car park when I saw him. He had just arrived, getting out of his car. He wasn’t expecting to see me either. His eyes landed on my overnight bag first, then on my face. I could tell the sight of me caught him off guard.“Clarence,” he called out, walking quickly toward me. “Where are you going?”I didn’t slow down. Just kept walking toward the exit. He caught up anyway, matching my pace.“Why do you have your overnight bag with you? Do you plan on working from home f

Clarence’s POV.I hadn’t been home in weeks, not really. Julian’s house had become a place I stayed, but not a place I lived. I had begun to feel like a guest there long before I packed my things. The silence in my own house was louder than I remembered. It greeted me the second I stepped in, filling every corner with something cold and familiar. I needed that quietness now. I needed space to think. To breathe. To go back to the beginning and start digging through the pieces again.I hadn’t answered Julian’s calls since the day I discovered the truth. I had read his messages when I couldn’t sleep, but I never responded. I didn’t have the energy to argue. And really, what was left to say? Every time I looked at him, I felt a weight pressing against my chest, like something invisible but heavy was sitting there, reminding me that he still hadn’t told me the truth. At the office, I kept my distance. I would go in for the bare minimum—brief meetings and quick check-ins. We hardly crossed

Kristina’s POV.I stood in the doorway long after Julian left, staring at the empty space where he had stood. I kept replaying every second. His voice, his eyes, and how disgusted he looked. I didn’t expect him to be happy to see me. I knew he would be mad but deep down, I thought maybe, just maybe, after everything with Clarence falling apart, he would see me differently again. We had a bond once. That wasn’t fake, I knew it. That wasn’t nothing no matter how much he was trying to deny it now making it look like he never loved me, I knew he did. And I believed if I reminded him of it if I showed him I still cared, that I could make things right again. So I started with a message. It was long and carefully written, every word chosen to sound honest. I told him I was sorry for what happened. All I wanted was for Clarence to know the truth. I said I was trying to help him not hurt him. I told him I still loved him, always had. That maybe this time, we could be something real.He didn’t
