Lavender:

“You lay a hand on my mother and I will—” I tried to get to her when all the doors of the car swung open, and men burst in from every side, their guns aimed straight at me. In fact, the tips of their guns were touching parts of my body—one at my forehead.

“Don’t be silly, you guys. She’s a friend. She wouldn’t lay a hand on me. Right, Lavender?” Her fake sweet tone with them changed the moment she turned to me.

“Now, please give us some privacy,” she waved her hand like a spoiled princess again, and this time, I knew she would make me speak.

But before she could ask me for the password again, I shot back with a question.

“Do you have no shame? My mother has always looked after you like her own. She cared for you even when she didn’t care for me,” I hissed, my eyes full of tears. I needed to understand what kind of person could turn on the woman who had done so much for her.

And I could tell from the way she made faces while I spoke–she couldn’t care less. She didn’t give a d

  • Help Me, Stepbrothers, For I Have Sinned   322-Alone And Attacked

Lavender:I had been feeling so low. When I woke the next morning, I knew there would be no more calls from Nikon. However, Mr. Benson Garner texted me to say he had my number and would keep me updated through messages.I spent the first few hours after waking in the bathroom, throwing up. I felt strange, unsettled. For the next few hours, until the afternoon, I kept trying to convince myself I wanted to eat. Easton had told me that his brother would let me know about the reports since they would go directly to the hospital. I didn’t have my old phone, and I didn’t even have the doctor’s number. Then I received a call from Easton. He told me he had my reports and would bring them over. His voice sounded drained. I was terrified of what the reports might say, but I had no choice except to wait for him. There were a lot of guards outside, and when I checked the news online, many outlets were already suggesting that Kenzie had been involved in shady business. That felt like a good start.

  • Help Me, Stepbrothers, For I Have Sinned   321-One Last Call Ever

Lavender:I had been trying my best to stay calm throughout the day, but ever since Easton left, I couldn’t help but miss Nikon even more. I began to wonder if it was truly my fault for not being more careful. But how could I have ever known what that evil Kenzie was planning for me?I stood alone in my room, thinking about how I would react once I was back with Nikon. I would cherish every moment with him, and it would be even more meaningful this time. I was pretty sure his mafia business would soon be coming to an end because of how actively he was working with the FBI. Maybe Isola Vira would finally be free of such mafia activity.I sighed as I stared outside, watching the sun go down.As darkness settled over everything, I heard a knock on the door. I turned to my left as I hadn’t even noticed a car pulling up because I had dozed off for a few minutes. I got up and walked to the door, opening it. Through the glass, I saw Easton standing outside.“Easton, what are you doing here?”

  • Help Me, Stepbrothers, For I Have Sinned   320-His Charming Brother Nikon

Lavender:Once he had loaded my bags into the car, he gave me a weak smile. “Wow, I never thought I’d be packing your bags to escort you out of the mansion,” he commented, folding his arms across his chest as he leaned against the car door.“Same. I mean, it’s weird. In the beginning, I wanted to escape this place so badly, and now it just fills my heart with memories of Nikon,” I whispered. I noticed he looked down and then turned his face to the side.I guess my entire world had become Nikon. It wasn’t possible for me to speak without saying his name every few minutes. In every conversation, he somehow became a part of it, which told me I was truly, desperately in love, unlike ever before.“Well, my brother is charming.” Thankfully, Easton took it lightly and changed the subject on a much more positive note.“Thank you, Easton, for not making it hard for me,” I whispered, pouting. He noticed and frowned.“Of course I would never. I told you, Lavender, it was your decision. I may hav

  • Help Me, Stepbrothers, For I Have Sinned   319-Stealing Her Boyfriend

Lavender:I wanted to meet Igor, but he was sleeping. After I packed my bags, I quietly escaped the mansion. Mr. Volkov was throwing a tantrum over the fact that I had called him out, and my mother was cussing at me from the living room. I didn’t go in there again. I just left with Easton. But he had to make a quick run back inside to grab his phone so I was now waiting in the parking lot when I stumbled upon a rather disturbing sight.I noticed an SUV parked outside the mansion, not in the drive-thru or even the parking lot. It wouldn’t have been that concerning if I hadn’t seen Sabrina leaning into the window to speak to someone in the backseat. I watched for about two minutes, but it was clear she had been standing there before I came out. Then she pulled back, turned to the side, bent down, and picked up a flower bouquet and a Gucci bag. She walked into the mansion with a big smile on her face. She seemed a little too excited. Maybe this was her boyfriend. If so, then it wasn’t th

  • Help Me, Stepbrothers, For I Have Sinned   318-No One Insults Me Anymore

Lavender:I had returned home with Easton after booking a flight. Throughout the journey, I didn’t feel like eating, but Easton had promised his brother that he would take care of me, so he gave me this little lecture about how much it would hurt Nikon to see me neglecting myself. I ended up taking a few bites here and there. Finally, we arrived at the manor. Easton had told me I didn’t need to respond to anyone there and that we were only there to pack my bags and move to a different mansion, the one Nikon had suggested. I tried to hold back all the stress to focus on packing and leaving. But as soon as I entered the mansion, I was confronted by a very angry mother, and her boyfriend. “She is back,” my mom hissed, folding her arms over her chest.“Of course she is, it’s her mansion,” Easton said as he stepped in front of me. “You don’t need to back her up. Her husband is in jail because of her. My son is in jail, suffering because she couldn’t keep herself safe.”It was Mr. Volkov’s

  • Help Me, Stepbrothers, For I Have Sinned   317-Parting Ways With My Husband Is Softly Killing Me

Lavender:“Okay, you need to stop crying. I'm fine," Nikon said, repeating his words. He was in his pants and white shirt, his coat taken off. They hadn’t made him change into anything else yet, thankfully, because he wasn’t sentenced to any punishment."Lavender, please calm down." He finally softened his tone, groaning softly as he hugged me and rubbed my back. I had been hugging him for the past ten minutes, just crying."Look at me." He broke the hug and cupped my face in his hands. "I'm fine, and I’ll be out in no time," he said, making me sniffle and nod."Easton, you have to promise me something," Nikon said. As we finally sat down, he held my hand and rubbed it between his."Anything," Easton replied. The two brothers had hugged for a long time. Easton even cried while hugging his brother, so I knew they were finally having a proper reunion. All the grudges they had because of me, which were one-sided, were gone."You will take care of her in a way that she won’t shed a single
