Jovani darted a kiss to Ezekiel’s cheek, and then left the apartment quickly.

“You,” Dante said, putting an arm around Ezekiel’s shoulders, “I need you to coordinate with Axel’s men and ours. The ones on the ground at least. Look, let’s be honest, we’re on the same side here. We’re all gunning for Infinite, but we’re not all going to get along with each other. We’re predisposed to … be in conflict.”

If anything, that had been Dante’s main hesitation in partnering up with Axel, even if Axel came highly regarded as someone dependable and trustworthy. Gangs were never quite meant to be besties, and loyalty, even the advantageous kind, was often a stretch.
