Megan I lay on the floor the body of my year-old son next to me. I am losing blood I can feel it draining out of me. I am welcoming death to come. Then I can be with my mate and son. Nathan “Over here.” I heard my beta yell as I look around at the carnage of what used to be the Running River pact. We received a distress call from them and came as quick as we could only to be too late. I step over bodies and walk towards the room my beta Jonathan called me from and saw him kneeling next to a woman. “Nate, she is still breathing but barely.” I walk over and the scene before me is heartbreaking. NathanI am in my office going over the details of what happened to the Running River pack. I know it was a rogue attack, but I have never heard of them hitting a pack this big. What was the reason? What was going through their feral mind? How is it they left my mate alive? Or did they believe she was dead? So many questions and no answers. I have assigned a few of my best trackers out to find out just what did happen, and I have a few warriors still at the Running River pack gathering info as well as taking the bodies down into the cells until we can give them all a send-off service.I made sure the child’s body that my mate was holding was brought back. I also have them searching for her mate so we can give them both a proper send-off for my mate. I am hoping that it will help with her healing. I can tell she was the Luna of her pack, and her mate was an Alpha. So, it should not be difficult for my men to sniff out her mate. I have files from their computers and reading her file now

MeganIt has been a couple of days since I woke. I have been wandering and exploring the Packhouse of the Blue Lake Pack. Julie has been great and keeping me company. She is the only one I know who seems to understand what I am going through. I have seen the Alpha around, but I have been trying to avoid him. I just don’t understand that the same day my mate is killed that I find my second chance mate. It is unheard of.Julie informs me the bodies of my mate and pup have been brought here and that Alpha Nathan plans an Alpha send-off for my family. I still cry myself to sleep at night and it is tough getting up in the mornings but with Julie encouraging me I get up.Today is the day of the send-off and I am grateful that there were clothes and dresses in the closet of my room. MeganI was walking around and getting acquainted with the pack and discovered they have high respect for their Alpha. I also have noticed how they address me as Luna. I am not sure I am ready to be a Luna for another pack as yet, but with them being so kind to me I haven’t the heart to correct them.
