It was after midnight when we arrived at the Blood Moon. Their territory was to the north, reaching way up to the mountains. We passed a small town, lying hidden in a valley, and Noah turned on a winding serpentine. The packhouse was even deeper in the forest, and I suddenly remembered that none of our informants could tell where the main building exactly was. They hid it well, I thought, as I got a glimpse of lights behind the trees. I was sure it was well protected, too. Noah stopped the car in front of the old manor, and I just stared in awe. Duncan left me at dawn. He told me to sleep on, and he didn’t have to say it twice. I was quite beaten. When I woke up again, the room was lit by the morning sun. I rubbed my eyes and stretched. I felt my muscles a bit sore but in a good way. I stepped to the window to admire the view. My old room used to have a nice view, but it was simply beautiful. The forest seemed to be breathing with the remains of the morning mist, and the mountains were breathtaking. I had an urge to go out and take some pictures and that was when I realized that Duncan had brought my bag with the clothes, but I hadn’t seen my small backpack which held my most personal things, such as my phone. I will have to ask him, I thought as I left the amazing view and went to the bathroom. I took a quick shower and got ready. Deciding to go for a casual look, so I just put on my favorite pair of jeans and a cozy yellow sweater. I pulled my hair into a simple ponytail and put on some mascara when I heard a light knock.
