Chapter 7

I wake up to the sensation of someone's fingers trailing down my arm and slowly become aware of the warm body pressed against me. Letting out a sigh of content, I snuggle into them more, absorbing all the warmth I can get from them.

"Come on, Baby girl. Time to get you some breakfast." I hear Lucien's familiar voice murmur softly.

"No." I grumble, wrapping my arms tightly around his large torso to keep him from moving.

He lets out a deep chuckle but stays in place for me.

"You're going to hurt your new best friend's feelings if you don't. Salem just spent the past two and a half hours making you a delicious breakfast." he tells me, making me open my eyes in surprise.

"Is that what he called me? Best friend?" I ask curiously, trying to conceal the excitement in my voice.

"That's what you called him, last night." he replies with a chuckle.

"I have to admit, I don't remember much of last night. It's mostly one big blur." I mumble, with a small frown.

"Don't worry. I took care of you the whole night. Preventing any bad decisions and even cleaning you and your mess after you vomited all over my bathroom floor." he states proudly, as I look at him completely mortified.

"Wow. I am so sorry for that... but thanks." I apologize, feeling a mixture of embarrassment and appreciation.

"No worries. It was worth seeing you happy and having fun." he smiles.

A sudden loud pounding on the door has me jumping up and almost falling off the bed, if not for Lucien's quick reaction as he quickly grabs me and pulls me back against him.

"Who is it?" Lucien hisses out annoyed, as I settle back into him.

"We need to talk." Levi's voice states from the other side, making Lucien frown.

"I'll be down in a minute." he replies.

"It can't wait." Levi retorts, making Lucien groan.

"I'll meet you in the kitchen when you're ready, okay?" Lucien says, turning to me and I nod my head.

I watch as he quickly gets up and pulls on some sweatpants before heading out the door.

I let out a soft sigh before getting up to see I'm wearing one of Lucien's shirts before making my way to the pile of bags in the corner of the room.

I rummage through, grabbing everything I need before quickly jumping in the shower and getting ready for the day.

I make my way downstairs and into the kitchen to see Salem, Beau and Crimson all sitting around, with no sign of Levi or Lucien.

"Good morning, Kitten!" Crimson greets sweetly, as soon as she sees me.

Salem and Beau turn and smile at me in acknowledgement.

"Come sit, I'll get a plate ready for you." Salem tells me, and I nod my head as I go and sit in between Beau and Crimson.

"How are you feeling?" Beau asks, making me blush.

"Good, thank you." I reply, unsure of what he seen from me last night.

"Do you remember last night?" Crimson asks, and I shake my head as I try to hide my embarrassment.

"Well, you had a lot of fun for starters, and your dancing was very sensual and seductive. You really impressed us with your moves, especially me." she states, making me blush.

"Thank you." I say, unsure of how to reply.

"No, thank you." she retorts with a seductive smirk.

"Here we go. I wasn't sure what you liked, so it's a bit of everything." Salem says, as he sets a large plate down in front of me.

"Wow! This smell and looks amazing! Thank you." I reply in awe, looking at the delicious assortment of goodies.

"Try the almond croissant, they are to die for." Crimson tells me, and I eagerly pick it up and take a bite, causing a moan to leave my lips at the incredible taste.

"This tastes like heaven." I comment in delight.

"Right!" she grins.

By the time I'm done eating, it's still just the three of us, making me wonder what was going on with Lucien.

"Is everything alright?" I ask, after sipping the coffee Salem has given me.

I watch as Crimson and Salem exchange looks before turning towards Beau.

"Of course. Why do you think something is wrong?" Beau replies, playing it cool.

"I just get the impression that with Levi needing Lucien so quickly, and neither them or Damian around, that something might have happened." I explain, and he nods in understanding.

"They just had some business they had to attend too. Now how would you feel about starting to learn about your new gifts?" he replies, changing the topic.

"Sure, sounds great." I reply, with a smile.

"Great. Come along then." he states, holding his hand out to me.

I give him my hand as he leads us out of the kitchen and onto the patio, with Crimson and Salem joining along behind us.

"Before we start, I need you to tell us exactly what gifts each god gifted you." he says, as we all sit down on the patio furniture.

"Okay, well, Aphrodite said she gifted me with her beauty, love and desire. Eros, with his sex, lust, and passionate desire, and Peitho with her persuasion and seduction." I explain, recalling the memory and each of their exact wordings.

They all look at me with wide, shocked eyes before turning and looking between one another.

As if having their own private conversation, I awkwardly sit there and wait for them to say something, before Beau suddenly clears his throat.

"Excuse me." he mumbles quickly, getting up and heading back inside the house.

"Did I do something wrong?" I ask with a deep frown, as I feel a pang in my chest.

Crimson quickly comes towards me and pulls me into her arms.

"Of course not, Kitten! He just wasn't prepared for such an answer. You continue to surprise us and our knowledge with your uniqueness. No one could have expected or prepared for this, and it's hard for him as he is a descendant of Athena. This goes beyond his wisdom, and it's driving him a bit mad." she explains, softly stroking my hair to comfort me.

"Descendant of Athena?" I question.
