LIAM

I couldn't recognize my life anymore

I could barely recognize the man in the mirror. He looked so much like a shadow of his old self. The suit was not fitted like it use to be. The tie looked like a noose. With each passing day,I felt like I woke up in a stranger’s skin. Even the skyline outside my window has lost its shine.

It's been one week.

One full,heart wrenching week.

And Sophia……hasn't called yet.

I tried calling her several times. I'd sent tons of messages and voicemails. I'd even contemplated going to Clara's house on my occasion but I was held back—either by fear, guilt or both. Her silence was punishing but….I deserve it.

Ava didn't understand any of that.

Ava has become more confident and proudly walking around my house like she owned it. She truly thinks she belonged here. She cooked breakfast without asking me. She picked my calls like hers. She leaves her clothes in my closet. Ava now has the audacity to wear my clothes and even invade my privacy. Worst of all,she

  • Her Billionaire Ex-Husband's Regret   Drips and Deals

CHAPTER 12SOPHIALucas had picked a quaint càfe nestled between two charming bookstores on a peaceful street. Inside, the gentle hum of soft jazz floated through the air, blending perfectly with the coffee cups and the occasional flips of book pages from the bookstore. It wasn't loud or crowded. It was intentional, calm and reflective. The kind of place that listened more than it spoke.I arrived at the cafe early just like my usual self–punctual, cautious and intentional. Subconsciously,my hand danced around the rim of the mug of coffee in my hands,my eyes flickering to the doors every few seconds.A few weeks ago,I was trying to put together a crumbling marriage and here I am sitting in a cafe to discuss how I'll build a foundation with a man I barely know. And yet, this felt not easy……but right. After five minutes,Lucas arrived in a grey sweater and dark jeans. He knew how to make his appearance blend in.“Hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long?” He said while sliding to the seat

  • Her Billionaire Ex-Husband's Regret   The Offer

SOPHIAThe air that morning was cool, the sky was dull gray,as if the clouds were holding the tears on my behalf ,and the wind carried a quiet chill that whispered through the trees. Leaves, rustled softly, and the air felt expectant,as if the world was holding on to something it couldn't yet say. I sat alone in the neighborhood park, wrapped in an oversized hoodie I got from Clara, with a mug of earl grey tea in my hand.I stared into spaceI needed to be alone–to breathe. My emotions have always been in a quiet war since I left Liam’s house. I haven't been able to be alone–to think straight and breathe. Anytime I start healing,I get a new message from Liam and drown back into the swarm of confusion. • Her Billionaire Ex-Husband's Regret   A Son's War for a Mother's Will

CHAPTER 9LIAMIt was morning but I wasn't feeling the morning sun because it wasn't warm enough to clear the air between my mother and I. The room was a blend of modern elegance and classic charm. A grand chandelier hung overhead, its cold brilliance cast a sharp reflection on the glass coffee table between them. The furniture was posh but stiff. The silence in the room echoed louder than our words. She sipped her coffee slowly, the way she always did whenever she was planning on saying something calculative. I didn't touch the breakfast I was served. I had no appetite. My appetite packed the day Sophia left me.“Has the woman left?” She asked while stirring her coffee.I didn't answer.“She was bound to leave anyway. I always knew she would leave. She was too weak to stay long in our world. Now she has proved it to the whole world.”I gritted my teeth and said “she left because she was pushed out of my life and you also contributed to that.”“She left because she was too weak. She al

  • Her Billionaire Ex-Husband's Regret   A Stranger in my Own Life

SOPHIAClara’s apartment was quite cozy and comfortable—filled with comfort that a fresh heartbroken woman would be grateful for—somehow I still felt like a stranger within its walls. The scent of the room was a gentle blend of aged wood and faint lavender, carrying a quiet warmth like pages of an old book left in the sun. Clara laid new sheets, put a new towel and a small note with“You are not aloneYou are loved”Written on it. I stared at the note longer than I should have. I smiled softly and it slowly reminded me of how loved I am by my friends and family. I was indeed grateful for that.I spent years in a marriage. I poured my heart and emotions into it. I felt I was loved probably I still am but now I feel like I am not seen. What is my position right now? Where do I stand? A wife,an ex or a placeholder as Ava called me?I crouched to my knees and cried bitterly. I cried not only for the present but for my future also. I stared at my phone as it buzzed again for the umpteenth ti

  • Her Billionaire Ex-Husband's Regret   Torn between Leaving and Loyalty

SophiaI could barely remember how I got home. Every passing thing on the road remained a blur—the little children playing on the streets, restaurants filled with people, food stalls overflowing with people eagerly waiting for their turn to be served, and animals moving on the road. I almost hit an old woman. The shouts and noise from passersby jolted me out of my subconscious state. I quickly apologized and offered to take her to the hospital. She looked at me and kindly rejected the offer. She patted my back and told me to take care of myself, as I wasn't looking too good. I thanked her, got into my car, and drove off.Ava’s words kept ringing in my head.“You don't have a child with him, and I guess that's what really bothers you, isn't it?” I couldn't shake off the thoughts. I gripped the steering wheel tighter. My hands were shaking as I drove to Clara’s apartment. Clara is my best friend and has always provided emotional support. She has been with me through my highs and lows.I t
