Calm down, calm down—

She could already sense the growing murderous intent from the Darwins’ Family. If she barged in now, it would only escalate the situation, making them more determined to eliminate her.

Though the Darwins’ Family wasn't as powerful as the Robinsons, killing her wouldn't be difficult for them.

Moreover, her foster parents were still alive. If anything happened to her, what would become of them?

Such cruel hearts they had!

She clenched her fists, her eyes reddening with anger. But she took a deep breath, suppressing her overwhelming fury, and turned to go downstairs.

After sitting on the couch for a while, Colleen and Tessa came down the stairs.

"Fiona, we can't give you Nine million, but after discussing with my parents, we've decided to give you this amount. However, you must transfer the delivery business backend to me and leave the City with your foster parents," Tessa said arrogantly, placing a check in front of her.

Fiona glanced at the check, which was for a million dollars. She slowly lifted her gaze, her eyes filled with furious intensity as she stared at Tessa, then turned to Colleen, her lips curling into a cold smile. "A million dollars to trade for the title of the Robinson family's Savior? Spoken like a true businesswoman. You've certainly run the numbers."

"Don't be ungrateful. This million is more than you and your foster parents could earn in two lifetimes," Tessa snapped, her voice filled with frustration.

"Whether my parents can earn it or not is none of your concern. But one thing I do know—I can make sure you never become the Robinson Family's, young madam!" Fiona retorted coldly.

"You... you're greedy!" Colleen shook her head, her face full of disdain. “How could I, Colleen, have given birth to such a daughter? You are a disgrace to me."

"Fiona, my mom is willing to offer you two million dollars."

"Two million is acceptable, but I can only change the backend of the delivery app to your control."

"No way, you must leave this City!"

“If that's your stance, then there's nothing more to discuss." Without another word, Fiona turned to leave.

Seeing that she was really about to go, Tessa panicked and quickly said, "Alright, I agree."

With her plan succeeding, Fiona showed no sign of joy. "I don't want a cheque. I want you to transfer the money to my account and write a statement saying it's compensation for my bone marrow donation to Ronald Darwin."

She was well aware of their tricks.

Once the money was transferred to her account, Tessa would take control of the delivery app's backend and change the personal information. The next day, they would report to the police, claiming they had mistakenly transferred two million dollars.

The police would then immediately demand that she return the two million dollars.

By then, wouldn't she be left with nothing?

"You're really pushing it," Colleen couldn't hold back any longer.

Fiona's cold face broke into a frosty smile. "If you don't want to, I won't force you."

"Let it go, Mom. Let's just do it for now!" For the sake of her lifelong happiness, Tessa had no choice but to endure.

Fiona sat calmly in the Darwins’ Mansion, waiting for them to transfer the money and sign a compensation agreement. Once everything was settled, she handed over the food delivery app to Tessa, who immediately updated the backend personal information.

The food delivery order from that day had never reached the customer, so the backend information couldn't definitively prove that Fiona had saved Gabriel. At most, it would raise suspicions within the Robinson Family. After all, the hospital records listed Tessa Darwin’s name, the surveillance footage had been deleted, and it was Tessa who had given Gabriel the ring.

But if the app was handed over to Tessa, it would create sufficient evidence that Tessa had saved Gabriel.

"Once your foster father recovers, you'd better leave this City," Tessa said, her tone haughty as if the City belonged to the Darwin Family.

Fiona's face turned cold. She glanced at the two of them but said nothing, turning on her heels and walking out.

Leaving the Darwins’ Mansion, she didn't head to the hospital to visit her foster parents right away. Instead, she took a cab back to her hometown. At the local police station, she inquired about the car accident. The police informed her that they hadn't caught the hit-and-run driver.

Feeling something suspicious, she asked for detailed information about the incident and the license plate number of the vehicle involved, secretly recording the conversation.

That same day, she took a bus back to the City. Once there, she contacted a reputable private detective agency, paid a $2,000 retainer, and provided them with the lead on the hit-and-run driver, asking them to investigate the accident involving her foster parents.

The Darwin Family's methods were despicable and ruthless. Fiona knew she had to uncover the truth and bring the real culprit to justice for the sake of her foster parents.

At the same time, she had offended Gabriel, and the Darwin Family harbored ill intentions towards her. To protect herself, she needed to have money on hand and ensure she had a way out if things went south.

This was also why she agreed to sell the backend of her food delivery app to the Darwins’ Family for two million dollars. She knew that if she demanded too much money and pushed the Darwins’ Family too far, there would be only one outcome for her – death.

After handling everything, she dragged her exhausted body back to her apartment, only to be met by Gabriel's assistant, Sutton, at the door.

"Miss Hayes, Mr. Robinson is waiting for you."

After hanging up the phone, Fiona felt a warm sense of comfort from Grandma Robinson’s kind words, reminding her to reach out if she needed anything. She gratefully agreed and ended the call."Stop the car."As soon as she hung up, she immediately called for the driver to stop. Gabriel's cold eyes turned to her, his hand gripping her chin and forcing her to look at him. "What, you think having my Grandma's support means you can do whatever you want?""No."Fiona brushed his hand away, showing no interest in his allure. "Gabriel, you might be handsome and rich, but not everyone is a gold-digger or eager to marry you. You don't need to flatter yourself.""As for this situation, it was purely an accident. I know you don't want me to get pregnant, and frankly, I don't want to have your child either. In two months, when I go for a check-up, you can have Sutton accompany me. If the results show that I'm pregnant, we can arrange for an immediate termination. After that, we go our separate wa

Upon seeing Sutton, Fiona's heart tightened with fear. She hadn't forgotten that just a few hours ago, she had flooded Gabriel's apartment."Hehe, Assistant Sutton, what a coincidence," she said with a forced smile, already pulling out her phone to quickly find Mrs. Robinson’s number and send her a message. But just as she sent the message, Sutton snatched the phone from her hand. “Sutton, what are you doing?" she feigned anger.Without even glancing at Fiona's phone, Sutton handed it to the bodyguard behind him and said calmly, "This way, please."He then led Fiona to the side. As the car door opened, she bent down to get in and saw a man sitting inside, looking relaxed with his eyes closed as if he were napping. Her heart pounded loudly in her chest. She swallowed nervously and forced a flattering smile. "Mr.Robinson, you... wanted to see me?"The man slightly turned his head, lazily opening his sharp eyes to look at her. "Have you thought about how you want to die?" His words were

Get out of my house right now!" Colleen shouted, her anger flaring."Mom, who's that?" Tessa asked as she descended the stairs. Seeing Fiona, her face twisted in annoyance. "Fiona, what are you doing here? This is my home."Despite being blood relatives, their disdain for Fiona was unmistakable.Fiona felt a stab in her heart but maintained her composure. "I'm just here to collect the reward for saving Mr. Robinson." Her words elicited a mocking laugh from Colleen. “It was Tessa who saved Mr. Robinson. What does that have to do with you?"Even though Fiona was her biological daughter, Colleen, who had always lived a life of luxury, looked down on Fiona, who had grown up in the countryside. She saw Fiona as uncouth, unreasonable, and unrefi

"Yes, I do. I really do," Fiona stammered, feeling his icy aura, like a grim reaper emerging from the depths of hell. It was the first time she had felt so close to death. Driven by a survival instinct, she nodded vigorously, "Of course I do. But how can I prove it?" “Good." The frost on Gabriel's cold face melted away, and his lips curved into a barely noticeable smile. He leaned in close to her ear, his warm breath tickling the hair at the back of her neck, sending shivers down her spine. After a few seconds, she finally heard him say, "I have a permanent solution." "W-what solution?" "That is...” He paused, seemingly toying with her, until he noticed how tense she was. Then he said, "Death!" "D-death?" Fiona was so terrified that she stumbled back, crashing into the sofa and falling into it, staring blankly at him. "No, no... I don't want that." She absolutely couldn't agree to that. "Gabriel, are you a devil?" Even the usually strong Fiona couldn't help but be scared.

  • Her Billionaire Husband   CHAPTER 7

"Fiona, dear, why don't you stay at the old house for a couple of days and keep this old lady company?" Mrs. Robinson said to Fiona. Fiona knew she had already offended Gabriel and didn't want to deride herself to the Darwins for the sake of her adoptive parents. So, she had no choice but to rely on Mrs. Robinson. After all, Mrs. Robinson didn't seem to harbor any ill attitude towards her. "I don't understand, why do you want me to stay with you?" Fiona asked. "Gabriel bullied you, so he should take responsibility. Having you stay at the house for a few days will also give me a chance to get to know you better," Mrs. Robinson explained. Considering Fiona's concern, she added, "I've already arranged for the best specialists from abroad to treat your parents. They should be well soon." Fiona felt deeply grateful, almost to the point of being overwhelmed. She could only comfort herself by remembering that she had saved Gabriel, and now Mrs. Robinson was helping her adoptive parents.
