Chapter 4

Sitting in front of her laptop after returning from her outing, Amanda immediately sent the resume to the email Mrs. Robinson had given her.

She stood up and walked to her small kitchen to prepare her dinner.

After eating, she went to her laptop to check if she got a reply yet but to her surprise, the reply had been sent to her email in less than thirty minutes, stating the time and venue of the interview.

Sleeping was something Amanda found had to do with knowing she had an Interview the next day. Standing up, she walked to and fro in her room. She had never been a private tutor before and had no idea which kind of question would be asked during the interview.

"What kind of questions are they going to ask? What if they don't find me suitable?' All sorts of thoughts kept running through her head.

Going to her small reading table beside her bed, Amanda opened her laptop and started searching for possible qualifications for a private tutor.

She was getting different answers which were not helping her at all, closing it shut, setting her alarm, and deciding to force herself to sleep listening to her favorite sleeping song.

"Whatever happens tomorrow will be faced tomorrow." Amanda thought to herself.

The alarm sounded her up, and Amanda began preparing herself, she could only get little sleep.

She made a simple breakfast and quickly had her bath. Putting on simple beige color pants with a white t-shirt and a little beige color jacket, no make-up on, she paired it with 2-inches heels and she was ready to go.

Hailing a taxi and giving the driver the address she had copied down.

In less than forty minutes she was standing in front of a magnificent gate that was gold in color.

"They must be wealthy," she thought.

Moving closer to the gate she rang the bell, after three rings a bulky man with a stoic expression opened the gate.

"How may I help you?" He asked, looking at her from head to toe.

"I'm Amanda Smith, I'm here for an interview," Amanda said, rubbing her hands together.

"Wait for a minute," he told her before bringing out a walkie-talkie from his side pocket.

After saying something into it he finally turned to Amanda, "Follow me," he instructed while opening the gate wilder for her.

"He will take you to the main building," he said pointing to another man that was standing before a black car.

"Money is really good," Amanda thought, looking at everything in awe.

The whole place was surrounded by flowers of different types and colors and their many beautiful statues and a water splash that caught her attention.

Entering the mansion Amanda was left flabbergasted, everywhere was speaking wealth, from the floor to the ceiling, and everything around. She was brought back to the present by a robotic voice.

" Hello Miss Amanda, Welcome to Eric Adam Mansion, please take your seat," Said the Robot, bowing his head slightly to Amanda.

" Eric Adam!" Amanda exclaimed.

Ananda was lost in thought while appreciating the beauty around her and also doubting that she didn't hear the robot very well when he pronounced the name.

"Good morning Miss Smith, '' a voice echoed.

Amanda raised her head, tracing where the voice came from. Then suddenly came eye to eye with a beautiful, no not beautiful, handsome man.

His eyes were deep blue, if you looked into them you could get lost, they were so captivating.

He was what you will call a demi-god, he had dark slick hair that was gelled backward, and he had a sharp chin before Amanda could toggle any further his voice brought Amanda back.

"Are you here to look around or for the interview?" He asked in a deep yet sexy voice while coming down the stairs.

Amanda quickly stood up, bowing her head slightly, Amanda couldn't bear to look at his eyes again, he was exuding a very intimidating aura that had Amanda's legs quivering in fear.

"Are you ready for the interview?" He asked again, sounding impatient.

"I'm sorry, my name is Amanda Smith, I'm the one who sent my resume to your mail yesterday for the tutoring job," Amanda said in a go.

Nodding his head, he sat down on the couch while staring at Amanda, doubting if she was the same lady he saw yesterday at the coffee shop, the girl he was thinking about all night.

"You may take your seat," he suddenly broke the silence.

Amanda Quickly takes her seat on the couch in front of him, waiting for him to continue.

"As you might have been informed beforehand, you will be tutoring my son, and you will also be his mentor.

"Your salary and everything else you need to know will be conveyed to you by my secretary by the end of the day," Eric said, still looking into Amanda's eyes.

"Does that mean I'm hired?" Amanda asked, biting her lips.

"Yes, and you can start working tomorrow," he answered, quickly standing up, his not comfortable with the way she was biting her lips.

"Just like that, are you not going to ask me any questions?" Amanda stood up and asked him, stunned by the way the interview had turned out.

"Are you expecting anything?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"What's your name?" Amanda suddenly blurted out, cursing herself for asking such a question.

The question had been bugging her at the back of her mind since the robot welcomed her to the mansion.

"I'm Eric Adams," and with that, he walked out of the house.

The name rang a bell in Amanda's head, but couldn't place where she had heard it.

Standing there for a while, she decided to go back home, since he said she was hired.

"I just have to wait till his secretary contacts me," Amanda said to herself.

Standing up from where she was sitting, Amanda decided to look around, maybe she will see the child she was supposed to tutor.

Picking her bag, she looks in the stair direction and decides to check if she's going to see the child but is stopped by the robotic voice again.

" Hi, Miss Smith, you are not allowed in that part of the mansion, I am sorry I have to stop you," The robot said, maintaining eyes with Amanda.

" Alright then, that means I will have to wait until tomorrow.

" Do you mind if you tell me your name, " Amanda said, bending down to the robot's height.

" My name is Josh!" The robot announced.

" Alright Josh, see you tomorrow," Amanda said, smiling at the robot.

Typing on his laptop, Eric couldn't stop thinking about Amanda, she was the last person he expected this morning to come for an interview to be James Tutor.

Still admiring her beauty, Eric decided to check her out on social media, after browsing for over thirty minutes, Eric couldn't find a single profile that matched the Amanda Smith he was looking for.

" She's not on social media? " Eric thought to himself.

He decided to search further before he heard a knock on the door.

"Hi, Eric, what's up, you look happy this morning," Marcus said, taking his seat opposite his friend.

" Do I? You can't believe who came for an interview to tutor James this morning" Eric said, smiling.

" Who could that be that makes you so happy as if you just got a billion dollars contract," Marcus said, with wide eyes.

" Amanda Smith, the coffee shop girl," Eric chuckled.

"Coffee what? Marcus shouted.

" Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Eric said, leaning forward to his friend.
