Chapter 4

Author: Anonymous
Olivia's expression darkened, but she still went to answer the door.

Standing outside was my doctor, drenched in sweat and visibly anxious.

Unable to make Olivia understand over the phone, he had actually come to see her.

A mocking smile appeared on Olivia's lips.

"Are you here to apologize?

"Why are you the one who came?

"Where's Liam? Don't tell me he's hiding now?"

The doctor said helplessly, "I've already told you, Mr. Horan really has passed away..."

The smile immediately disappeared from Olivia's face, replaced by a cold expression.

"Have you lost your mind? You're a doctor, yet you're helping Liam lie to me?

"My father protects Liam, so no matter how much trouble he causes, I can't do anything about it. But do you have anyone protecting you?

"You don't believe that I'll file a complaint and make sure you can't keep working at the hospital?"

I immediately became anxious and said to the doctor, "Don't worry about me. You'll lose your job!"

My doctor and I knew each other fairly well.

I knew he came from a poor family and needed this job.

If he offended Olivia, his career as a doctor would be over.

Olivia had always been the kind of person who followed through on her threats.

However, the doctor couldn't hear me, and he seemed unusually stubborn.

"It's not only your husband. Your child has also passed away. Ms. Dane, please face reality!"

Olivia's expression changed dramatically.

She raised her hand and slapped the doctor across the face.

"Did Liam tell you to lie to me like this? Is he even human? Just to get my attention, he's claiming that his own daughter is dead!

"How does he deserve to be a father?"

The one who didn't deserve to be a parent had always been Olivia.

Suddenly, a deep middle-aged voice rang out. "Olivia, what are you doing?!"

I turned my head and saw Arthur standing at the doorway.

Startled, Olivia's entire posture immediately stiffened.

The world worked in strange ways.

Arthur had learned of Ava's and my deaths and had come looking for Olivia.

Since Olivia had always been afraid of her father, she instinctively tried to explain herself.

"This b*st*rd was wishing ill upon Liam and Ava, saying they were dead..."

A jinx… That was how Olivia saw it.

But Arthur's eyes instantly turned red, and his entire body began to tremble.

Staring directly at Olivia, his eyes filled with grief and anger.

He pulled out the death certificates he had just received from the hospital and spoke sharply.

"Who said this is a jinx?! They really are dead!"

Olivia knew perfectly well that Arthur was not a man who would lie. Even so, she still couldn't believe what he was saying.

She snatched the death certificates from his hands and carefully read every line from beginning to end.

I watched as the color drained from the face of the woman who had always appeared so calm and elegant.

Then she let out a shrill scream.

"How could this be?!"

"Shut up!" However, wasn't Olivia responsible too?Having lost the wealth he had always dreamed of and now facing prison, Tucker had completely lost his mind.He continued provoking Olivia."Do you regret it now? Hehe. They're dead, and now you regret it. What's the point of regretting it?"When you go to sleep at night, don't you dream about your Liam? Your Ava?"When they died, they were probably regretting it too. Out of everyone they could have loved, they chose a heartless woman like you!"Clutching her head, Olivia let out a hoarse cry."Stop talking! Please stop talking!"Seeing the situation spiraling out of control, the police quickly restrained Tucker and escorted him into a patrol car.

The officers walked up to Tucker, showed their badges, and said, "Mr. Pritchett, you are suspected of being involved in a case of intentional homicide. We'd like you to come with us."What?I stared at Tucker in shock.I had always thought the accident was just that—an accident. I never imagined it had been planned.Even Arthur looked stunned.Meanwhile, Olivia rushed forward without hesitation and said to the officers, "That's impossible! Tucker would never do something like that!""I'm Ava's mother. I can guarantee that the accident was just an accident..."The officers were taken aback, probably having never encountered a mother like this before, but they still explained patiently."Whether it was an accident or not will be determined by the investigation. And even if it was an accident, Mr. Pritchett is still responsible..."The worry on Olivia's face was almost tangible. Hurriedly, she asked, "Responsible? If I sign a letter forgiving him, will it help?"A letter forgivi

The funeral Arthur personally arranged was grand. When I was thirteen, my parents died of illness. Since then, Arthur had looked after me in their place, and we had become very close.Ava had never received much affection from her mother growing up, so Arthur filled that void with the love she lacked.Learning of our deaths so suddenly seemed to age him ten years overnight.Standing before my memorial portrait, he wept uncontrollably. When Olivia and Tucker entered the funeral hall, Arthur was murmuring to himself. "Liam, I failed you. If there's a next life, I'll spend it making it up to you..."My heart tightened at his words, and instinctively, I reached out to support him. "Dad, this has nothing to do with you!"However, my hand passed straight through his shoulder. After standing there in silence for a long time, I gave a bitter smile. The living and the dead truly belonged to different worlds.Olivia quickly walked over to Arthur's side and tried to comfort him. "The de

If you don't believe me, come and see it with your own eyes."With that, Arthur left and slammed the door behind him.Olivia stood there in a daze. Grabbing Tucker's sleeve, she kept asking, "He's lying to me, isn't he? Liam and Ava... how could they suddenly die for no reason?"How was it for no reason? After Ava's accident, I called Olivia and begged her to come take a look. She spent the entire night at the hospital with Tucker and left me with only one sentence.
