40 | Concerning Feelings

*Isadora’s POV*

~A few weeks later~

I turned the knob in the bathtub, letting water fill it before I stood up straight to pull my hair into a bun.

Things have been crazier than normal these past few weeks. Padrino has been more tense than usual since he and the Russians have still been unable to find my brother.

They have met a few times to discuss strategies to bring him out, but nothing has worked yet. Penelope mentioned a conversation she overheard between Daniella and someone else, but all the numbers Ethan looked into were dead ends. Everyone that they had questioned also seemed not to know about him, even less where to find him. It’s like he never existed in the first place. But I knew better.

All of that has kept me from sleeping well the past few days. I haven’t wanted to tell Padrino because I knew how intense he could get, and he already had enough on his plate. I just hoped we were able to find him before the baby was born.
